All WWE '12 Discussion

I've been playing the fucking game for close to an hour, ********, it doesn't really come with an instruction manual so much as it does a tiny pamphlet which really doesn't tell you shit, I finally found the fucking tutorials & after I eat am going to do them. I didn't fucking give up after 8 seconds, I lost a match after 8 fucking seconds, perhaps you should learn to fucking read.
OK, so this is what you're saying:

"I lost a game in 8 seconds because I failed to properly educate myself using the tutorials given in the game! This game is a bad game because of that!"

Again, I rest my case. If you learned what the hell you were doing before you tried to do it you wouldn't have been bitching. It would be like someone trying to assemble a piece of furniture (Entertainment Center, Table, etc), not reading/following the directions, not assembling it properly, then blaming the table makers. No, it's your own damn fault.

Stormy, just shut the fuck up, I spent $60 on the game, if I'm frustrated I'm going to bitch, I have the right. It's a game, I shouldn't have to invest hours of studying the controls to figure out how to play.

Why are you getting so defensive of the game? People are allowed to be frustrated with the new system if they want. I was at first. because i didn't know how to do anything except irish whip the shit out of Sin Cara. Let em vent if they want, it's not like you made the game, and even if you did you should be able to take constructive criticism instead of being an idiot about it.

LOL u act like ST's zealot like defense of things he likes in opposition of obvious defects and shittyness is a new thing.

Anyways, getting the grappling system down, still fucking stupid, unecessarily complicated. Severely so.

Also, straight up, theme songs off of the user playlist hard drive do not play in the victory screen. they simply dont. That, is indefensibly, shit.

I don't understand what people mean when they say the new controls, more specifically the controls involving grappling, are complicated. What is exactly complicated about it? Isn't it basically the same thing as the previous installments?

Did see a stream of WWE 12 last night and does look nice has a couple of nice additions to it the gameplay looks smoother, was a little dissapointed to see that you carn't really slam people onto ladders any more, for example last night I saw Zack Ryder dangling from the breifcase Sheamus then brings him down with the ladder directly underneath him but instead of Ryder getting slammed on it the Ladder just moves out of the way

I know the ladders were glitchy as hell last year but it was still preety amusing

Awww fuck, your joking right?

I am going to be disappointed if you can't slam people onto ladders any more, that made TLC matches amazing.

Damm you to hell THQ if that has been taken out!

It is still in the game but it happens MUCH rarer now. If I try to slam someone on a ladder than about 55% of the time he will land on it. The other 45% of the time the ladder will move out of the way .

I was playing Universe mode and Brock Lesnar got into a confrontation with Micheal Cole who said " You don't want any of this. I am undefeated at Wrestlemania!" Then Lesnar proceeded to knock him out in a bittersweet moment.

All I have defended was the controls, which were really REALLY far from shit. They are different, yes. That doesn't mean shit.

Agree 100%. Hopefully THQ can fix that with a patch. I wouldn't be surprised if they do that, too.

I love it. I tell him the truth, he can't find any comeback other then to stop talking. Why stop talking when I'm telling the truth?

You have the right to be frustrated, but you're frustrated at the wrong stuff. NorCal is frustrated at the lack of entrance music in the victory scene, which he has a right to be. Some were frustrated with trying to find out how to edit shows in universe, which was somewhat difficult to figure out (they were no longer frustrated with that once they figured it out). You're frustrated because you're an idiot that didn't know how to kick out of a pin. That's something that is actually close to identical from previous years game by the way.

Again, the game isn't the problem when you fail to play the game properly. You're the problem.

So the controls take a while to get used to. That's what happens when you buy a brand new game with new (BETTER controls). You probably felt the same way when they first went to analog stick grappling. Then soon after you realized that the controls aren't difficult or confusing, they are just different. It's just like going from WWF No Mercy to WWF Smackdown (or SD2, or Just Bring It, or whatever) back in the old days. The controls are totally different, because it's a TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME. Just like WWE 12 is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME then SVR11.

This game is like No Mercy in the controls department. At first they seem limited as u can't do much but after some getting used to you realize how in depth they really are. After about 6 matches I realized what I was doing wrong and after that I had a blast with this game. If you tough it out its worth it in the end.

After playing it now for awhile I gotta say, I'm totally blown away from the quality of the gameplay. It's so fast paced and smooth. And create an arena is a great feature. WWE '12 is an all around amazing game.

Game has been dispatched. Should receive it tomorrow. Cannot wait. Just hope the controls don't ruin the game.

I still don't understand why the Universe Mode is so disconnected from actual WWE. I mean, it begins with John Cena defending the world heavyweight championship against The Undertaker in the middle of RAW. That says it all, doesn't it?

That's actually the Road To Wrestlemania Mode. But I see what you mean. The IGN reviewer was praising every part of the game but called the story weak. I couldn't agree more.

Universe Mode, on the other hand, is a blast. It had one hell of a start with Brock Lesnar's intro and I'm really enjoying this great WWE-like experience it offers.

Oh it won't. Trust me, the controls just got better. It took me a few long matches to get used to it but the controls have really improved in my opinion.

This is true. I have brought shame on myself. I'll be out back committing harakiri if you need me.

What exactly is Universe Mode? Help me untie this knot that has plagued me so.

Wikipedia SvR 2011 Article said:
The game's new "WWE Universe" mode replaces the career mode from previous games. The mode builds storylines, and integrates cut scenes and rivalries between wrestlers based on the matches that are wrestled. These cut scenes appear randomly before, during, and after the match.

Basically, it combines GM Mode, Season Mode, ect, into one big mode. That's...pretty much the best way to describe it.
