This is the 5th Studio Album from A7X. They are my favorite band so I'm a bit biased. All of their albums have progressed in sound and concept, and this one is no different. They had a much more metalcore sound in the first two albums. The first one Sounding The Seventh Trumpet, featured mostly screaming. Their second, Waking The Fallen featured a more half and half vocally, with half screaming and half singing on most songs. This album also was the first that featured lead guitarist Synyster Gates. The next two albums were the closest in sound. City of Evil, and Avenged Sevenfold were both a more progressive metal/ hard rock. With all clean vocals. Enough rambling on the past.

This album is very exciting for A7X fans. On December 28th, 2009 Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan was found dead of an overdose. He was the drummer and main song writer for the band. The band almost quit but decided to only put out this CD in his memory since they had already written the songs, just not recorded them yet. The album was always going to be a darker themed album, but when Rev died they changed the album to more of a concept album around him. The songs didnt change, but the lyrics did. Revs favorite drummer of all time was Mike Portnoy of Dream Theatre and its quite evident in his sound and style of drumming. So to record this album, Mike stepped in to record and go on the UpRoar Festival which starts next month to give them time to find a new perminent replacement for Jimmy. So theres the background of the album.

I wont go through all the songs, but the ones that jump out at me. Nightmare was the first single. That song didnt change at all. Lyrics and music remained after the death. Great song that really captures the sound of A7X to a tee. Welcome to the Family was released last week on YouTube as a song behind the gameplay footage of Call Of Duty: Black Ops. Great song in its own right. Buried Alive really jumped out at me. It almost has a Stairway to Heaven kind of feel to it. Clean intro with just guitar. Then build a little with some strings. Then full band during the verse. Heavier in the Chorus. Then the song changes halfway through. Really catchy.

So Far Away is the only succesful attempt at lyrics by Synyster Gates. The song is ment to feel like a one guitar, one voice concept. It is a goodbye song to him from Gates. The song that easily caught my attention was God Hates Us. The title is suggestive, but I can understand the feeling trying to find someone to blame for the tragedy. It is the first song in my memory that returns to screaming in the Chorus!!! It excited me beyond belief.

This leads me to Fiction. Ive know about this song before hearing it. On Christmas day Rev handed the copy of Fiction which was called Death at first. He said the song was the last one he was writing. It was perfect in his eyes. Three days later he was found dead. The lyrics to the song are haunting. Gives me chills still and Ive listened to it 15 times yesterday alone. The last few lines are "I hope its worth it, whats left behind me. I know youll find your own way, when im not with you. So tell everybody, the ones who walked beside me. I know youll find your own way when Im not with you tonight." The song is only drums, piano, keyboards, and vocals. I promise the song will give you chills.

So I hope I havnt rambled on too long. Go give it a chance. Great album. Ill be seeing them when they come to Charlotte on the UpRoar Festival Sept 1st!!!!

Artist: Big Boi
Album: "Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty"

Odd name for a album. Quite a mouthfull. Listening to this album right now, the only thoughts going through my head really is "Hip.Hop.Isn't.Dead." This album is incredible. There's really not enough praise to be given to it in my own opinion. The beats are INCREDIBLE! With a mixture of different producers. There's a little bit of everything. There's a lot of funk, just old school type feel to it. The whole album's real bass heavy. Lots of bass on this album. Make sure you gotta good system to rattle the windows with. Big Boi's flow is on point too. Lots of complex lyrics, good tongue twisters, just absolute skill on the mic. It's chill, it's bouncy, it's hype, it's laid-back, it's funny. Everything is good on this album. I recommend this album to the fullest. Do it up!

I saw John Mayer on Sunday at the Verizon Wireless Center in Noblesville, Indiana. The opening act was the Avett Brothers. Both Mayer and the Avett's were at the top of their game. The best concert I have ever personally been to.

I had never heard of The Avett Brothers until they opened for Mayer. The were a folk, indie, rock group led by two brothers, known as the Avett brothers if you can imagine that. They had a great sound but I feel as though they got a little to into the songs which actually hindered their sound. Their best song was Murder in the City, which is a really beautiful song, with some sort of fucked up lyrics. Either way they were really good and instantly made me a fan.

John Mayer followed and he was amazing. The best performance I have ever had the ability to see. He did a great job of mixing his songs with solos and interacting with the crowd. He was hilarious and has a great stage presence. He really is one of the best musicians going today, incredibly versatile. He did a lot of his well known songs but also did some covers, such as Free Fallin, Ain't no Sunshine, and Don't Stop Believing. His solos were mind blowing, I have never seen someone play the guitar behind their head live before, but he did it. The encore was Who Says and Edge of Desire, the latter of which had a montage that went along with it that was awesome.

Overall the show was great. The Avett brothers made a fan out of me and John Mayer brought the fucking house down on Verizon Wireless. I am definitely going to see Mayer again when he comes back around, hopefully next summer.

9. "The Man Who Would Be King" Murray, Harris 8:28
10. "When the Wild Wind Blows" Harris 11:02

Wow, that is all I can say about this album, it is fucking amazing. There is no filler on this album and every song is very good at the very least. El Dorado, the first single, has a classic Maiden sound to is with the galloping bass to start and a simple but amazing power chord riff, Bruces singing is spot on as well. Another song I feel deserves a special mention is when the wind blows, that song is epic it is twelve minuites long but it is fucking amazing. All I can say is go but this album. By the way I am going to see them live next year along with Slayer, Rob Zombie, Slash, AX7 and QOTSA amongst others I am fucking psyched for it.

Artist: The 69 Eyes
Album: "Back in Blood"

1. "Back in Blood"
2. "We Own The Night"
3. "Dead N' Gone"
4. "The Good, The Bad, & the Undead."
5. "Kiss me Undead"

10. "Hunger"
11. "Suspiria Snow White"
12. "Eternal"

I discovered The 69 Eyes through Bam Margera and his heavy usage of them in "Viva La Bam" and various other stuff he's done. They're classified on Wikipedia as a Gothic Rock, Glam Metal, Hard Rock, band. This albums theme is lyrically revolved around vampires and blood. They're a Finnish band. The whole album is pretty damn good in my humble opinion. I think the guitar and just all of the instrumentals in general are pretty rad. I like the singer's voice too. The songs, as you can see are somewhat dark. The guitar is heavy, and the lyrics are just slow and melodic. I listen to this album whenever i'm a bit down, and need a pick me up. It serves the purpose pretty well. Give it a go, you'll like it.

Review :

Linkin Park "A Thousand Suns" Review — 5 out of 5 Stars
Linkin Park create their own genre with A Thousand Suns.

The album is unlike anything you've heard from Linkin Park or anyone else for that matter. The best way to describe it—and it's still light years away from the experience of actually listening to it—is The Fragile meets Achtung Baby. However, it's more like a soundtrack to salvation than anything else.

A Thousand Suns deeply examines loss, life and love in the space age with a very Blade Runner approach. "The Requiem" and "The Radiance" give birth to the journey to follow with an eerily elegant keyboard sound. A humming croon kicks in and a robot voice declares, "God save us." Another voiceover follows on "The Radiance" cryptically and beautifully announcing the aural apocalypse to come.

"Burning in the Skies" volleys from a propulsive keyboard build-up into a glitched-out affair between Chester Bennington's unmistakable vocals and the production behind him. He drops in his most poetic lyrics—"I'm swimming in the smoke of bridges I have burned. I'm losing what I don't deserve." The imagery is both destructive and strangely divine. That line also becomes significant, popping up again later on the record.

The salvo to follow, "When they Come for Me," slides from a slick synth into Mike Shinoda unleashing like never before. He declares, "I'm a tough act to follow." Shinoda's not kidding; he raucously rocks around a swagge-d out verse that culminates in a refrain actually worth screaming, "Try to catch up, motherfucker." Tribal beats resound in the backdrop with a bloody and brilliant crescendo.

This is the battering that pop music so desperately needs. There's a dreamy haze that colors "Robot Boy." It's tripped-out tryptych of textural bliss sees the band reaching Tomorrowland. A looped riff from Brad Delson blazes in unison with a formidable wall of rhythms from Rob Bourdon and Dave "Phoenix" Farrell. "Blackout" gives Chester space to freakout over debonaire keyboards and a jagged riff. If M.I.A. Listened to too much Misfits she might sound something like this.

Shinoda's animalistic rhymes square off against Joe Hahn's chaotic carnivorous scratching for "Wretches and Kings." Whether it's a robotic creepshow speech from Martin Luther King Jr. to the slow piano on "Iridescent," Linkin Park are changing the game.

The first single "The Catalyst" is a unique introduction and a fitting preview. The "God save us everyone line" is another crucial bit of information that's cyclical within the sonic solar system that is A Thousand Suns. After A Thousand Suns, all rock 'n' roll will revolve around Linkin Park.

Best of the Album :

1. When They Come For Me
2. Wretches And Kings
3. Iridescent
4. Waiting For The End

Band: 10 Years
Album: Feeding The Wolves (2010)
Songs:

Shoot It Out (3:19)
The Wicked Ones (3:30)
Now Is the Time (Ravenous) (3:51)
One More Day (4:11)
Fix Me (3:35)
Chasing the Rapture (3:26)
Dead in the Water (3:30)
Don't Fight It (3:41)
Waking Up the Ghost (2:57)
Fade Into (the Ocean) (5:44)

Before I went to The Carnival Of Madness, I had no clue as to who 10 Years were. I listened to songs from past albums of theirs, and they were OK at best. However, this album blows me away. It is head and shoulders better than any album they've produced before this. "Shoot It Out" is the first single off the album, and it is a great song. Personally, my favorite songs are "Shoot It Out", "Now Is The Time", "Dont Fight It", "Fix Me", and "Dead In The Water". The quality of the songs are great. You can really tell that 10 Years put a lot of effort into them. The only downside to this album is "Fade Into (The Ocean)" is a clusterfuck of random musical notes, and nothing seems to fit. However, thats just a blemish on an otherwise great album. I recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of hard rock.

Final Rating- 8/10

Abney Park - The End of Days

endofdays.png

1. The End Of Days
2. Neobedouin
3. The Wrath Of Fate
4. I've Been Wrong Before
5. Inside The Cage
6. Fight or Flight
7. Victorian Vigilante
8. Chronofax
9. Letters Between A Little Boy And Himself As An Adult
10. Beautiful Decline
11. Off The Grid
12. To The Apocalypse In Daddy's Sidecar
13. Space Cowboy

Another incredible album by the underrated and under-loved Abney Park. Keeping with their recent steampunk theme, this album follows the crew of the HMS Ophelia after they accidentally caused a time paradox fueled apocalypse at the end of Lost Horizons.

One thing you'll notice when compared the Lost Horizons or even AEther Shanties, is the evolution of their sound. There is a lot more violin on this album. Captain Robert seems to have struck a good balance between the breathy vocals of the first album with the belting of the second, and he pulls it off to great effect.

There's a lot of evolution in this album, really. The band improves on what they learned from AEther Shanties, utilizing some of the experimentation and world music influences, combining it with even more new sounds. The violin seems to be the instrument of choice, as almost every song features it, and to great effect. Whether it's a bouncy pirate-inspired tune, or a slow ballad, the violin figures into it and fits perfectly with whatever mood the various songs are creating.

This album contains what may be some of Abney Park's best work. "The Wrath of Fate", "Letters Between A Little Boy And Himself As An Adult", and "Space Cowboy" are bold and fresh, experiments in their sound that work so well. "Space Cowboy" in particular is different from anything in the previous three albums, looking to the Old West for inspiration. It perfectly captures both the vastness of the stars and the rush of exploration. The whole album captures this, really, with the landscape of the world Abney Park has created laid out to perfection through the songs.

I really can't praise this album enough. It's probably completely different from anything you've ever heard. It's Abney Park's best album to date, and well worth the fifteen dollars it is to buy.

Recommended Songs
The whole album, but here are my three favorites:

Linkin Park World Tour - Herning Denmark 30/10/10

Finally Linkin Park returned to Denmark. After 3 years absence, Denmark finally had the honors of hosting a Linkin Park concert again.

Warm-up band was: Futureheads, which I must admit I had never heard of in my life. They played some decent stuff but it generally didn't catch on to me at all. I think it was due to the fact that I would've rather heard another 30 minutes of Linkin Park than sit and wait for them to finish, and then 30 minutes of preparing the set for Linkin Park themselves.

Overall the show was great, and they had a great set of songs which mixed back and forth from practically being a promotional tour for their album A Thousand Suns, as well as a concert of the old classic songs that we all grew to love oh so dearly.

The set was awesome, they had a big screen that displayed the band in black and white throughout the most, but also showed a lot of trippy material as if you sit and watch your Windows Media Player doing trippy stuff while playing music.

A few things of note that I thought made this concert absolutely spectacular:

Opener was great.

Decent quality taping from a fan. Shows how they truly got the crowd pumped rather easily with this song, which was absolutely great. A firm opening part with a great opening song.

One Step Closer: This has to be the greatest performance of the song I had ever heard. Chester really put extra emotions into this performance, and even if I was sitting in the far end of the arena with slightly limited ability to see, it was still great.

In The End: It was great to clearly hear the crowd singing along more or less throughout the chorus and all that. The energy was estatic through this one.

Closing song: Bleed it out, awesome song. What made this even more epic? Well they mixed A Place For My Head into the middle of it, playing about 1 minute of that song and then back to Bleed it out. Which was absolutely epic, especially considering I really wanted to hear that song in specific.

Final act of the band: Chester holding up the Danish flag. It caused the biggest pop of the night, as the crowd practically exploded as if John Cena entered the building. A great ending to send the crowd home.

Overall show: 9/10 - Why not a 10? Well I couldn't get any pictures whatsoever because of my seat. And that sucked major ass cause I wanted to take pictures.

Escape-the-Fate.jpg

The picture I have posted is the cover for their deluxe edition. The standard release which I will be reviewing is the same, it's just a different colour.

Escape the Fate - Self Titled Album

This album was released on November 2nd 2010 world wide and it is their 3rd studio album. I picked it up on it's release date and over a week later, I still can not stop listening to it. It's such a great album and I highly recommened it to anyone who has ever listened to Escape the Fate and also to people who have not but are a fan of bands such as Underoath, The Used, Taking Back Sunday. I promise you will not be let down. Who knows, they may even be your next faveourite band.

Now, onto the track list.

1. "Choose Your Fate"
2. "Massacre"
3. "Issues"
4. "Zombie Dance"
5. "Gorgeous Nightmare"
6. "City Of Sin"
7. "Day Of Wreckoning"
8. "Lost In Darkness"
9. "Prepare Your Weapon"
10. "World Around Me"
11. "The Aftermath (G3)"

The album starts off with a great opener with 'Choose Your Fate'. It's a simple song with the only words being "Choose Your Fate" but it works as it's like a chant. The other stand out tracks on the album are Massacre, Zombie Dance, Gorgeous Nightmare, Issues and The Aftermath (G3) which is most likely the last in the 'Guillotine' series of songs as the lyrics "The battles over, this war has been won" and "Now I'm coming home, now I'm coming home" imply that the figurative battle they've been fighting since the start is over.

Overall I will give the album 8/10.

Kid-Cudi-Man-on-the-Moon-2-cover.jpg

I picked up the new Cudi album yesterday. i am still deciding what I think about it, but overall I enjoy it. The best section of the album is definitely Act4: The Transformation. That section of the album is all from the perspective of Mr. Rager, who is definitely an interesting creation. It it a much darker side of Cudi, seeing as it is his evil alterego. Overall, Man on the Moon Part 1 is a better album, but Man on the Moon Part 2 has its moments and maybe the best Act of songs for either album.

Metallica Death Magnetic World Tour - Melbourne 21/11/2010

One opening band was Baroness, these guys weren't really good. Not really their fault though, the sound guys were trying to fix the sound up and just when they got it sounding good their set ended.

The other one was Lamb of God, and these guys were pretty good. Not really my type of music, but they got the place rocking and they sounded really good, so I can't really say anything about these guys.

So Metallica's last stop on their 2 year long world tour, and they rocked the place! They opened the show with The Ecstasy Of Gold, like they normally do, straight into That Was Just Your Life, which I think was awesome, but a strange choice since not many people knew it.

The setlist was probably the best one I have seen from them. We got a really good mix of their well known songs and the lesser known ones. They played songs like One and Master Of Puppets, which you'd expect, but they also played ones like The Unforgiven III and Disposable Heroes. AND WE FUCKING GOT THE CALL OF KTULU! The place went off when Hetfield started playing that opening riff.

They ended with Seek And Destroy, great choice. Get a song nearly everyone there would have known, and go out with a bang.

So i'd give this one a 10/10, they rocked the place and had the best setlist i've seen from a band EVER!

MOTORHEAD- MANCHESTER APOLLO 16/11/2010

Finally, I got round to seeing Motorhead Live after not being able to go on their last 2 visits to Manchester. It was a cracking gig overall.

The 1st support band was Skew Siskin, who I thought were a new band, but looking on Wikipedia have been around for like 20 years?! I thought they were excellent. They sounded a sort of hybrid mix of Airbourne/Crue/Thin Lizzy/Guns and realy got thr crowd going, and got a standing ovation when they finished.

Michael Monroe, former lead singer of Hanoi Rocks was the next act on the bill, and again got over with the crowd big style, despite looking like a bleached blonde skeleton. It wasnt my kind of music, but the rest of the audience loved it.

On to Motorhead. Lemmy was on top form, having good banter with the crowd in between songs, and obviously having a few JD's haha.

Set List
1.We Are Motörhead
2.Stay Clean
3.Be My Baby
4.Get Back In Line
5.Rock Out
6.Metropolis
7.Over the Top
8.One Night Stand
9.Guitar Solo
10.The Thousand Names Of God
11.I Got Mine
12.I Know How To Die
13.The Chase Is Better Than the Catch
14.In the Name of Tragedy
(With Drum Solo)
15.Just 'Cos You Got the Power
16.Going To Brazil
17.Killed By Death (with Nina C. Alice)
18.Ace Of Spades

Encore:
19.Born To Raise Hell (with Michael Monroe)
20.Overkill

So we got some of their new stuff along with classics such as Ace Of Spades, Killed By Death, Metropolis, Stay Clean and they finished on my favourite track "Overkill" which was awesome.

The pit was awesome, and overall it was just a really good gig. The only downside was getting stuck behind a shirtless 300lbs Sebastian Bach lookalike with man tits nearly down to his waist, but after moving places it was fine haha

danger-days.jpg

My Chem's 4th Album, veering off a usual track of heavy rock, fronted by Gerard Way's shouty vocals, moving onto a path which involves the Rock aspect, along with catchy tunes, great Guitar Riffs & brilliant lyrics, resulting in one damn-good album.

Look Alive, Sunshine & Na Na Na
Track 1 & 2 of the album link into each other, with a monologue from Dr. Death Defying (Look Alive, Sunshine) leading into the new sound of MCR, with Na Na Na. Instantly catchy with kids shouting out the first Na Na Na's, backed up by Frank Iero's booming Guitar Riff.
The song starts with Gerard calling "Drugs, gimme drugs, gimme drugs" - Lovely way to start off. This verse leads into the 1st chorus of the song, catchy from the start yet again.
The bridge of the song has Gerard talking about desolation in "Battery City" - California 2019, with the line "Everybody wants to change the world, but no-one wants to die".
Leading into the final chorus, this song has done nothing but deliver from the beginning, backed up by Dr Death Defyings speech beforehand.

Track 3: Bulletproof Heart
Beginning with one Guitar, alternating between two notes, you know that there's something coming. "Gravity, don't mean to much to me" is what Gerard says 3 bars through, showing off the first chorus. This end with all Guitars, Drums & Bass having entered the equation. A nice, fast-paced beat is sustained throughout the chorus, with classic powerchord progressions from the duo of Frank & Ray. Bashing through another chorus, we hit a Guitar solo, with Frank showcasing everything he's got early on. Slipping right on with another verse and chorus, Frank shows off he's got a voice with his backing vocals. Did Gerard just say "Shawty"? Not sure.
After the 3rd chorus, some synths hit, bringing down the tempo of the song, Gerard asking "Are you gonna be the one to save us?", many times through the bridge. A powerful final chorus hits, with a stop after the 1st "Gravity", smashing the song with everything it has before it hits the end.

Track 4: Sing
With a Bass Drum/Snare combination beginning, it almost sounds as though a Ray Gun is being fired over the top of it. It is 2019 after all. The verse is VERY low-key, Gee telling us to "Sing it out", even when we're expecting a huge pop from the chorus, there are no distorted Guitars from Frank or Rey, just gentle instrumentation throughout.
The second verse adds more, Guitars with these wailing pitch bends in the background. Expecting distorted heavy Guitars here? You're wrong. Mikey (Gee's brother) adds backing vocals on every "Sing" in the chorus, followed by a tiny Guitar riff, which is heard all through the bridge. A popular form is taking place in the songs it seems. After the bridge, the final chorus hits. Nothing spectacular, pretty much the same as we've heard previous 2 choruses.
Slightly disappointing song in the sense of no huge bang anywhere, but the lyrics are written well & the song works.

So Far, great album. It may be 3 songs, but it's amazingly catchy. Love where it's going.

This is all I had to work from notes-wise, so my next post will cover the rest of the album

3-2-1 WE CAME TO FUCK!

I'm not an intense fan of MCR, but this albums seems to be pretty decent to me. Usually I listen to more Hard Rock,Bluesy,Alternative type stuff. But these guys did pretty solid on this album pretty much abandoning the emo label they received in the past.

Exactly my point. This has been some of their greatest stuff since Three Cheers. If you're interested I'll have the rest of it reviewed by Sunday Night/Monday Morning.

I fucking love MCR. Loved them since day 1 and wasnt one of those people who just jumped on the "Black Parade Float". Don't get me wrong i love the black parade, thought it was an amazing concept with "death comes for you in the form of your strongest memory". Just kind of got played to death is all. Still love it though. I love the awesome punk sound MCR has on Danger Days. I read an interview with Gerard saying that this would be MCR's last adventure. I am SERIOUSLY hoping he means just with concept albums, cause correct me if i'm wrong everyone of their albums has had a story to it. Would suck for MCR to be done.

Anyway Danger Days kicks absolute ass. Just something I can put in my car and feel like going 100 on the open road. Can't wait to see these songs performed live. Hella mosh pit images. Great thread man loved the CD! favorites are "Bulletproof Heart", "Party Poison", and "Summertime".

I've been a long time My Chemical Romance fan, they are my faveourite band but I have to say I do not like the change of direction for My Chemical Romance. It is a really good album but to me, it's just not My Chemical Romance.

Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge was an amazing album which I don't think they'll be able to top.

Out of the new songs for the album, I'm really addicted to Bulletproof Heart, Planetary, Destroya and The Kids From Yesterday, oh and Scarecrow too. For some reason though I just really do not like SING. I think it's such a let down and it's missing that 'feel' that My Chemical Romance has I think. There's no big bag. It has a cool video with them being killed but I don't think it really fits the song. Oh, Vampire Money is awesome too but I think they could have left out the intros that Gerard Way has with Frank, Ray and Mikey. It was unneccesary, even though I understand it to be a Sweet reference to Ballroom Blitz. I am so glad they didn't do the song for Twilight.

30 Seconds to Mars - This is War tour. 3/12/10

Great night. Jared Leto is nuts! He does a great job of getting all the fans pumped up and at one point during "Closer To The Edge" he even jumped from the stage into the fans. I had a really good view and was only like 4 rows away from the front. Of course because I was standing I was continually pushed forward. For the encore, Leto handpicked fans to come on stage whilst they performed the smash hit "Kings and Queens". I even managed to crowd surf during that song. I tell you its such an awesome feeling to have when everyone is hoisting you above the crowd and you are gently floating towards the stage. Overall good show however I didn't know enough songs to say it was great. At times I felt slightly awkward standing around doing not alot whilst everyone is singing themselves hoarse. 8/10

I am so glad they didn't do the song for Twilight.

You and me both brother.

I just wanted to point something out and i am probably the only one who sees this, but this album makes me think of final fantasy 7 in some ways. With the whole rebellion against an evil corporation concept. Plus I watched a video on youtube of FF7 with the song "The only hope for me is you" playing in the background and it fit perfectly. Just an observation about the album I noticed. I love when albums can make me have several different stories and visuals in my head for what its about and Danger Days is no exception to that. as Richard said, Three Cheers likely won't ever be topped. I loved The Black Parade and that concept and musically, it just didnt do the same thing for me that Three Cheers did.

I...I hate this thread. I hate it so much. Such a fucking terrible group who haven't made a good album in years, this is their worst piece of shit yet, it's somehow worse than pseudo-intellectual pretentious mess that The Black Parade was, which I did not think was actually possible for this group to accomplish. So bravo MCR, kudos to your amazing ability to get worse and worse with each and ever album you release.

Also, merging this into the Album Reviews thread, keep album reviews in there in the future guys.

This is my review finally for the new Acacia strain album.

The Acacia Strain- Wormwood.

"Beast" (feat. Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed)- 4:03
One of the songs right now that I can't get my ears to stop ringing from. This was ironically one of the last songs I got to on the album. Because I skipped right over it to go To the hills have eyes. This song is just brutal and slow. It will take the skin right off of your face if your not carefull.

Lyric to watch for!: THE FUCKING WORLD IS A SCARY PLACE.. BUT I WILL DIE WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE!!!

"The Hills Have Eyes" - 4:20
The very first song I got to on the album, its faced paced and really hits you hard. The drummer did an amazing job with his double bass in the song. Really technical drumming is hard when your hiting the double bass notes that he was hitting. An excelent song

Lyric to watch for!: You're not a 10, You're 5 plus 20 grand. Paris fucking Hilton wants you dead... Enough said.

"BTM FDR" - 3:51
Now any song that starts off with the lyrics "Your blood will blanket the earth, I am the shot herd round the world" just screams at me to lisiten to. It's not a big secret on here that I love fucking brutal music. The guitar playing really isn't that great in the song, but the drumming once again is amazing.

Lyric to watch for!: You spread disease when you spread your legs!!!

"Ramirez" - 2:25
This to me is my weak link of the cd, its a good song. But it's not really up to par with the other songs on the cd. I can headbang to it, but its not the best song on the whole record.

Lyric to watch for!:I am the one who will bring hell upon you all. I'll stand at the gates and watch your kingdom fall, Ashes to ashes and dust into dust. This world is a graveyard, I DON'T GIVE A FUCK!

"Terminated" - 3:14
The Frontman for this band has really brutal death growls. But this song to me just takes it way over the top. His growls are just so deep its not even funny, I'm still not sure how he's doing it. Really he has iron lungs. Great song but again not the greatist guitar playing ever.

"Nightman" (feat. Bruce LePage of 100 Demons)- 2:51
This is the song for me that everything comes together. The guitars and bass are really prevelant, and the drumming is just great. The lyrics are just great, alot of their lyrics are just about killing shit. So is this, but they are just really clicking with the guitars on this song really well.

Lyrics to watch for!: There is nothing in this world that comes without a price

"The Impaler" - 4:35
This song really isn't my favorite off the album, its just a notch below the others in playing. Its hard to pull off another great song when your following the albums best song this late into the album. But its still prety good, it has a pretty good intro.

Lyrics to watch for! :We are the wolves who dress as the sheep, never resting and refusing to sleep.

"Jonestown" (feat. Kyle Chard of Born Low)- 3:18
The layered in guitar playing under the sick drumming is just sweet. The song starts off with a really sick layered guitar riff. It has a really good small hardcore breakdown, its not that long but its really something to get into to jam to.

Lyrics to watch for!: I was born a monster, We will die the same. No one can live forever.I will become a household name.

"Bay of Pigs" - 5:17
This song is just one giant breakdown. I can imagine myself in the pit just destroying people to it. Enough said.

Lyrics to watch for!: I look to the gallows, my mother begins to cry. I spit upon the crowds, you're all going to fucking die.

Just because you're breathing, doesn't mean that you're alive! Just because you're human, doesn't mean you have to die!

"The Carpathian" - 3:17
Now to me this is a good song, but like a few other it's just lacking something for me. I haven't put my finger on it yet. But I will find It sooner or later.

"Unabomber" - 4:48
This song for me was the song that told a really great story. It was talking about what the Unibomber did, but what his reasons were. They are sort of cut and chopped but on looking at his record and what he did I think this song puts what he was doing to a T.

"Tactical Nuke"- 5:34

Yes ladies and guys, this is the final song. Its just an instramental of one really giant breakdown. So don't go over and above to get a really brutal song out of it. The breakdown i've seen video's for it makes the crowd go fucking nuts. Its fun to see, the kids are really wild at the beginning but at the end the hardcore breakers really get cool when they slow down the dancing to allmost a crawl like its in slow mo.

Pendulum - Immersion UK tour.

Wow. Fucking wow. Amazing night. By far the best gig I have ever been to. Pendulum tore the fucking house down. Even before Pendulum everyone else was raving to Hadouken. Me, being someone who hadn't even heard of them, was singing their tunes along with the sea of crazy fuckers. Mosh pits were formed, people crowd surfed and drinks & glow sticks were thrown left, right and centre. And this is only the support band! When Pendulum opened up the roar was insane. Where I was standing some chick got knocked out cold when Pendulum started! I heard their gigs had a reputation for being wild but I didn't believe it...I do now! The best songs were Tarantula, The Island, Slam, Propane Nightmares and Witchcraft. Rumour has it that someone got stabbed in a mosh pit down near the front but thats just speculation. Crazy gig. 10/10

Carnival Of Madness - August 5th, Holmdel NJ

10 Years- They were very good, but I felt bad for them. There were only about 700 people in the center at this point, and nobody was really into them. They sounded really good too. One of the guitarists even ran off stage and came near where my friends and I were sitting. He was taking pictures without everyone. Too bad there was no way for us to get out of the isle in time. 10 Years had no real entrance. Music started to play, and the singer came out in a snow jacket and simply said "Whats Up" before "Now Is The Time" started playing heavily. They were a very good band, and I enjoyed listening to them. 7/10

Sevendust- The downside of the show. It's not that they were bad, it's just that they weren't the best band that was there that night. By this point, there were maybe 1500 people in the center. Sevendust really doesnt belong at a hard rock concert since a lot of their songs fall into the metal category. I would see them again, just not at a hard rock concert. 6/10

Puddle Of Mudd- These guys were fun to watch. The music sounded great here. Even the singer, who doesnt have the best voice in the world, sounded great. They were involved in the concert. They called kids up on stage to dance with them while playing "Psycho." At which point, one guy sitting near us screamed out, "Youre still a pedophile!" I thought that was funny. They were very good, and I highly recommend them. 8/10

Chevelle- This was the first time the workers really changed the look of the stage. They had an electronic curtain that was used to simulate Space-Type effects. Probably because their album is called "Sci-Fi Crimes." These guys were very good too. They had a lot of lights with them, which was good because by this point, it was getting darker out. We could also see the two giant screens that they had set up. Even though its a 3 man band, they were very good. I enjoyed them. 9/10

Shinedown- They came on at about 9:15. There was a screen above the stage that lit up red and said the words "HOLMDEL, THIS IS WHERE YOU SCREAM!" That was followed by the curtain Shinedown was behind being lit up in red with some creepy carnival music playing. That stopped, and "Sound Of Madness" started playing. The crowd was hot here. I mean really hot. Front row to back row, nobody sat down. Everyone was dancing, headbanging, and just having fun. They had an awesome stage set-up. It was stairs leading up to the drummer, and two coll looking stands to the side where the guitarist or bassist could stand. Brent Smith sounded amazing, he came out dressed as a carnival leader with a big hat, and a cane. They played every song you could imagine, except one. Thats when the encore came on. They first played "Simple Man" followed by "Fly From The Inside" and to top it off, "Second Chance." They were by far the best band of the night, and I HIGHLY recommend going to see The Carnival Of Madness if it comes back. 10/10

Best concert I have ever been too. It was very fun to watch, and get involved in. I also can't wait for "Madness From Washington State" which chronicles Shinedown's performance during the last show of the CoM. There was a preview on Paladia a week ago, and they enhanced the performance with pyro. Very cool.

Recently saw a Band live called Voodoo Hussy, a British Band, fronted by Shabby Katchadourian - Known for walking from Big Brother 11.

They're a good band on track, and even better live. Considering there was probably 200, 300 people tops, the atmosphere was fuckin' A. The guys go mental on stage, along with the crowd. Inside Moshpits rule just as much as open-air ones. Didn't think much of the support acts, Kenelis & Red n Pink. But once VH got out on stage, it was all good. They done a full hour and a half long set, each track as energetic as the last.

So yeah, great show, great band, you should check 'em out.
