5-Star/Perfect Matches

The first Rock/Cena match was pretty good. The second one wasn't going to measure up, though.

I didn't watch either of the Punk/Rock matches. I heard how the first one ended and was totally uninterested. Pinning a 434 day champion with a People's Elbow? Fuck off.

Never saw the EC match. Is it better?

Also, Shawn and Foley had a great match at one of the IYH PPVs. So yeah, there's that.

Until Rock wrestled Cena for the second time (their first was MOTN I think) I couldn't think of a bad Rock match, if I had the motivation I could find Rocky matches that are five stars.

Hogan vs Warrior - Halloween Havoc

Rock/Undertaker - No Way Out 2002

Don't know if you can blame that one on Rock, though. Undertaker was shit in 2002 when he wasn't wrestling Flair or Angle.

I remember watching Brock vs Angle once and hating it. Though to be fair, I'm generally out of it by the time Mania main events roll around.

SummerSlam and the Iron Man were far, far superior.

Undertaker had bad matches with Stone Cold though, Undertaker was fucking shite.

Rock-Goldberg was garbage as well.

I thought it was good enough, my view is probably skewed by the crowd chanting "bullshit" when Goldberg kicked out of the Peoples Elbow (wonderful move, should win all the matches) and "Goldberg sucks" after Goldberg won.

I will never ever forget the SmackDown Elimination Chamber 2011, specially the Edge vs. Rey Mysterio part. That has to be my favorite EC match ever.

Raw EC in 2009 blows it out of the water. Had an Edge-Mysterio ending where you might have actually thought Rey stood a chance.

Nope, not really. I'm still going with the EC 2011, and I don't know if Rey Mysterio couldn't have won, since Del Rio was the guy that would challenge at WrestleMania. I enjoyed it, McIntyre was fantastic in the match too. I really liked it and not a single one as come close to me, of course.

The idea that most Elimination Chambers don't bleed together is really quite silly to me. Most reach a certain level of adequacy, and that's fine. None of them strike me as five star match material in spite of being a lot of fun.

Has Angle/Benoit vs Edge/Mysterio been said yet?

Probably my favorite tag team match with no gimmicks and or cheap endings. Love it.

Oh yeah Edge/Guerrero/Benoit/Angle is probably one of the best SD! matches of all time.

I agree with you in some way, but it's one of my favorite matches of the year and that one, it really had a great deal of wrestling. You re-watch it and then post here, if your feelings are the same.

What about that brutal TLC/Hardcore Match with Ryback and Team Hell No vs. The Shield?
