I'm really hoping he gets 35+ here. CBA rules are a little grey on this matter regarding the length of time between incidents re: "repeat offenses", but Elliotte Friedman tweeted last night that that rule only applies to fines, apparently, so I'm thinking based on his last suspension (17 games 10 regular season, 7 playoffs) for his flying elbow on McDonagh that he ends up with 25 here.

They can't release him. NHL contracts are guaranteed. The only way to get out from under a contract is to trade the player, or for the player and team to agree to mutually void the contract which rarely happens.
They could simply tell him not to report, though, like the Rangers did with Redden, and just tell him he's going to sit home and ride out the remainder of his deal unless he wants to void it.

Lowdown is having the worst playoffs ever, one team has ready been swept, the other on the verge.
I didn't get to see them game last night cause I was working, but saw highlights, looks like the Wings played like absolute shit last night. Didn't look like they were giving Howard an ounce of support, Bruins definitely deserve that win, & probably deserved to win my more than what they did.

I personally want Cooke out of the league. I don't see 7 as enough as his past is supposed to be a factor in the length. Once you double it to 14 you see how many regular season games he would get and that dangerous play has put Barrie 4-6 weeks along with Cooke's past and I would hope for longer. All in all, it is what it is and I can be happy he will miss at least the rest of the series and for me hopefully the playoffs.
