And so begins the quest for the cup. 16 teams will play 7 game series to determine who is this years Stanley Cup Champions.

For the next tw months, this will be the home from the early stages to the cup that the greats hold.

New Jersey Devils v. Philadelphia Flyers (6)
Buffalo Sabres (7) v. Boston Bruins
Pittsburgh Penguins (5) v. Ottawa Senators

San Jose Sharks v. Colorado Avalanche (7)
Chicago Blackhawks (4) v. Nashville Predators
Vancouver Canucks (5) v. Los Angeles Kings

The Playoffs are finally here in 15 minutes and I can't wait!

I'm going to start with Pens/Sens and then switch to Devils/Fylers and then at 10 going to Coyotes/Red Wings and then switching to Sharks/Avalanche.

It's going to be a great, great night.

Let the games begin!

Elliott had a scare early. This is his time to show that ottawa goalies can go in th eplayoffs.

Fucking Pittsburgh down 3-1 to Ottawa. I know it's early, but Pittsburgh just hasn't been right the whole season. I still stick by them winning the series, but man I won't be shocked if they lose.

Boucher is holding up nicely so far against New Jersey, but let's see if he can keep it up.

So the Pens are down 4-2 going into the 3rd, let's see if they can comeback and salvage home ice advantage.

Devils are coming on in the second period, but haven't put one in yet. Kovalchuk went through the whole Flyers team, but couldn't beat Boucher.

Well Boston broke out today beating Miller 4 times on route to a 5-3 win. The series is now tied 1-1 and if the Caps and Kings win tonight every series will be 1-1. Now that's parity!

Finally, the Bruins break out and establish themselves in the 2010 playoffs. They looked reasonably good in game 1, but came up short. I was a little worried when they fell behind 2-0 in Game 2, but thanks to the man from Bonavista, they're back even.

Now if they can jusdt keep it going.

Well, Phoenix took Game 3 against the Red Wings in Joe Louis Arena and if you didn't believe that the Coyotes had a chance, start believing. They have a very solid team and if Bryzgalov stays consistent, watch out.

Today is a huge night, with 5 games: PHX/DET (done), NJ/PHI, PIT/OTT, CHI/NSH, and SJ/COL. Gotta love playoff hockey.

Updating the night's action:

Phoenix 4 (leads series 2-1)
Detroit 2

New Jersey 2
Philadelphia 3 (leads series 2-1)

Pittsburgh 4 (leads series 2-1)
Ottawa 2

In progress: CHI/NSH and SJ/COL

A power play in overtime sealed the fate of the Devils as Carcillo scored the GWG and Pittsburgh showed why they are defending champions by soundly defeating the Senators.
