Ultimately, without Letang and Maata, and having traded the only 2 other Dmen that played with a modicum of physicality (Bortuzzo/Despres) in front of their own net, the Pens defense is pretty damn awful.
They do have a good track record against Lundqvist, but when he's on, he's the best goaltender in the league.
This series will likely be decided by goaltending and with the Pens defense in shambles, I have to give the edge to the Rags.
How good was Scott Darling for the Hawks last night? Coming in midway through, in your first post season appearance and just stonewalling one of the better offensive teams in the league. Interesting to see who gets the nod in Game 2.
Crawford will. He's the starter. Darling is a back-up. You have to give your starter a chance to bounce back. It's nice to have Darling there to bail you out, but you always go starter first until he assures you you can't win with him.
