your thoughts on this years summerslam

[WWE fan]

seeing as this years summerslam has come and gone i wanted to see what peoples reactions to the PPV were.
now i havent seen it, ive only seen what happened at summerslam from looking at the WWE.com site.
i think (and this is my opinion) that this years summerslam was a dud. let me explain. both the WWE and World Championships involved cheating on the part of both champions. Edge used brass knucks and Sharmin got invloved resulting in a DQ. whatever happened to two wrestlers stepping into the ring and letting them sort out themselves who was the better wrestler and therefore the champ. im getting real sick of this outside interference/cheating crap. even you Booker T and Edge fans have to admit that they were very lucky to walk out of summerslam the champs. i wonder what the outcome would have been if edge didnt use the brass knucks and sharmin didnt get invloved in the matces.
dont get me wrong i think Booker T and Edge make great champs (theyre excellent heels) but lets see them defend their championships fair and square.
also why wasnt the RAW Tag Team Championship defended at Summerslam? i swear the RAW tag team division is a complete joke. these days having a tag team championship defended on RAW or PPV is a rarity.
also there doesnt seem to be a great deal of competition for the No. 1 contender for both world championships. It seems the only real contender for the WWE championship is John Cena (triple h and Shawn michaels are now a tag team of sorts) and the only contender for the World Championship is Batista.
i think after summerslam the WWE has got to lift its game if it wants to keep its massive fan base. i think the WWE is extremely fortunate to have brought ECW and WCW. i know that if they were still independant and running i know id be switching to them. i think the WWE these days is just way too cheesy and focused on entertainment (in a soap opera sort of way) and wrestling has gone out the window. im getting really sick of all the stupid storylines and the cheesyiness of the whole thing. i really do miss the days of the old WWF.
anyways thats my two cents worth.
i would really like to know what other people think of this years sumerslam and the WWE in general.

i thought it was average maybe about a 6.5-7. I know smackdown sux compared to raw but for them to only have to matches was dumb. Also neither set of tag team belts but come to think of it there werent any tag team matches at all. I only paid five bucks to watch this at a movie theater and the crowd definitley added to the experience. The ECW match was good nothing like the old ecw but still very entertaining. The flair foley match stole the show really. DX vs Vince Shane and practicly the whole lockeroom was awesome and unpredictable especially when kane stoppted umaga from costing dx the match. But I hope to god they don't start a ane v Umaga fued because Kane deserves more than that. I didn't like the way the championship matches ended but i can tell u from being in that theater they drew alot of heat. I agree that the right people won the title matches i just wish they could have had legitimate finishes. Cole kina gave away the Batisa v. Booker T match before is started by saying "this is Batista's FIRST attempet at wining his title back since returning from injury", obviously they are building a rivalry but it kind riuned the match for me. I wish there would have been some more matches like the US, Womens, or Tag titles. Overall i was very happy that i spent the 5 bucks to see it but 40 would have been a different story. I can't wait to see Jeff Hardy tomorrow and aftermath shows are always the best anyway.

PS for anyone who doesn't know NCG cinema sells tickets fo all WWE PPV'S FOR JUST 5 BUCKS!!!

Most of this show was not very entertaining. Flair and Foley easily got match of the night. The rest of the show wasn't worth $40. Maybe $10 at best.

ECW shouldn't ever be put on WWE pay-per-views. They should be played up as the underdog rebels. This way, ECW looked like a glorified episode of Velocity with their world title as the second match of the night.

I have to say after many many years of watching WWE, I was truly upset and disappointed at the Summerslam ppv. For one of their major ppvs in the calender year, it certainly did suck. The finish for the Hogan/Orton match was a disgrace on Orton, to stay down for a minute from 3 punches and a big boot, haha whats the world coming to? Hogan is by far a legend, but injury or not he cant cut it anymore, nor has he for the last 5 years, i've never cheered for anyone like I did for Orton last night. Like everyone has said Flair/Foley and ECW title match stole the show, but even then quite a few mistakes were made in the ECW match. I'm glad Edge retained, Cena shouldnt get it right back, tho we all know he wins it back at Unforgiven (in Edges home town this time). King Booker retaining was also a good idea to open a rivalry with Batista, it was just the finish to the match that was pathetic. DX/Mcmahons, yes this was ok, big suprise when Kane came out, so now expect a Kane/Umanga feud to start, after Umanga costs Kane his IC title match on raw against Nitro.
Overall the PPV was average, and definately not worth its title "Pay Per View", they had good ideas to carry on and develope new storylines, they just went about create them in a bad way. Well thats the low down from the English side of the pond!!

I agree, and I am glad that I didn't waste my £15 on it. Even before it started, it never looked like it had anything to go on... most matches were predictable with a few surprises, but nothing major.

Poor. Very poor. It made me sick that Hogan didnt put Orton over, I didnt really care who won the WWE or World Title matches, Sabu messed up lots of spots, Big Show sucks, DX vs The McMahons was ok when the heels came out at the start of the match. The best matches on the card were Foley vs Flair (a pair of 50 year olds!) and Rey vs Chavo (the opening match with two cruserweights!?) now that is poor.

Where were the Tag titles, IC title, US title etc? Vince sort it out!

foley vs flair was pretty good, dx vs mcmahons.....other matches were a bit of a let down, thought they would make more of them, and did anyone see batista stuff his batista bomb up, LOL.....but i was happy Kane at least showed himself, now lets see if Vince can do the right thing and give him his push!

The whole time i was like please Hardy come out or have a preview, but they just did the coming to raw tommorow segment again, but still i cant wait! wonder what will happen! Not worth the $30 aus dollars i dont reckon but hey cant change it.

I thought Summer Slam sucked. the only high point being the Flair,Foley match, but I didn't really care for the ending. I'm glad Booker T retained. I was pissed at the Edge,Cena match. why do they always let that Ho Lita interfere and not DQ her like they did Sharmmel?

yes summerslam was pretty much a dud. it was deffinately not worth 40 dollars.
smackdown completely sucks and has lost ratings they have good superstars and dont know how to use them. the world title match was the worst match of the night (other than hulk and orton) and batista would destroy booker t if it wasnt for the queen. the wwe match i honestly loved. i'm a cena fan but i liked how wwe changed things up and had edge win because i thought cena was going to win. wwe needs to go back to the basics and forget outside interferences because in the long run they are gonna lose ratings and lose fans. fans will start to get bored of wwe if this keeps up. the only good title matches are basically new years revolution and wrestlemania. you cant even get a good world title match on either show every once in a while without an interference (ecspecially w/ smackdown) as far as the tag teams go i'm honestly getting sick of the DX mcmahon fued i want dx either to get in the tag title hunt or break up to give raw some more wwe title contenders. we cant just see edge and cena go at it every ppv. i loved the ECW match to be honest tables chairs i thought it was great and i think ecw should have a 2 hour show with more superstars and it should be better than RAW and Smackdown. i agree 100% that wwe is just out for money and entertainment. the good old days back in WWF is long gone and i hope wwe does something.
and i was deffinately not thrilled w/ these 2 matches. first off the i quit match was just a complete joke. melina coming out distraction making foley say i quit i thought it was honestly bullshit and i wanted a good 25 to 30 min match of just pure brutality. and i also was really upset about the hogan orton match. i mean i know hogan was going to win but come on the match lasted 10 min. hogans damn knee ruins everything and i wanted to see a repeat of the HBK Hogan match from last year. i give summerslam a 6 out of 10.
so long WWF now we've got the cheapskates from WWE trying to take our money and not giving us a great show. they promoted the hogan orton match and it deffinately did not deliver.
i'm furious with WWE and they need to change, fast. or the loyal fans are going to forget all about wwe, because its now turned into a money issue. vince who?

no tag Team Championship Matches?? oh my lord with weak singles championship matchs and no I C or US titles on the line they should have stepped up the World Championships a lil more, sabu had a hard time Carrying the Big Show though a High Spot ECW Rules match, Flair and Foley Produced a Solid performance as usual only to ee Foley " fired " the next night. and DX vs the McMahon was ok but with so many running in isn't it time for DX to expand to watch thier backs? in a Wrestling Magazine I seen they thought maybe Carlito would be COOL to be in DX as well as Trish who isn't doing much these days even if she is on her way out why not let her have fun ? and did you see how many "Diva's" they had not to have them wrestling on the show? good lord let's have a lot of good matches rather than long boring matches that don't seem to have that big match atmosphere, Booker VS Batista? Booker was better when he wasn't the King now he just talks like an Idiot yes I wasted 39.95 on One Match that I turely Liked and the ECW match that is gonna get a Rematch Tonight blah I could have spent that money elsewhere and since I became long winded I am gonna stop now . atleast it wasn't money spent on a Stink vs Big Plopa Plump

This years Summerslam had the funniest sequence of events. Mcmahons Vs DX. And Kennedy comes out with his confident stride, Regal comes out in his angry British look. And then Finlay comes out smiling and gives Shane a high five...

Classic
