I'd love to say Trent Barreta, but he's not there yet.

Alex Riley. In my opinion, he's the only mid-card guy with the ability to take over for John Cena. Unfortunately, he's already 30 years old (Orton is in that same boat). Does that mean he won't be given that opportunity? No, but I'm guessing they would rather give that spot to someone who can be on top for years and years to come.

Anywho, yeah, he's great. He's a charismatic, natural character. He's got a great, muscular look, something Vinny definitely appreciates. He's no Bret Hart in the ring, but he's at least on par with where Cena was at this point in his career. I love the kid, and he's definitely my favorite guy not main eventing... besides Barreta.

I'm gonna have to go with Ted Dibiase. I mean ya right now he's coming out of career hell ever since the Million Dollar Man Jr gimmick failed but I seriously see him becoming a big star in the future. He really reminds of Randy Orton when he started in WWE. What I see happening is Dibiase turning on Rhodes (ala Batista leaving Evolution) and winning the Intercontinental title. This will hopefully be the start of his big push.

Alex Riley gets my vote. I know Cody's probably going to have the most votes because he's one of the biggest IWC darlings right now but to be honest Riley is (arguably) the most talented midcarder in the WWE today. People who'd disagree with that statement are the people who didn't see NXT Season 2 which he carried, and dominated with no help from Kaval or Mcgullicuty who finished ahead of him. While Kaval mentioned TNA and Hennig showed his lack of charisma, Riley was gold on the mic and often main evented the show in a singles match with a pro.

Riley's better on the mic than every option but Wade Barrett, and better in the ring than just about everyone but Bryan, Ziggler, and Swagger so he gets my vote. I wish he was heel, but he's been pretty entertaining as a face so I like it either way.

Cody Rhodes

I know not the most creative answer, but this isn`t about singling out creative this is about identifying who is simply the best.

Rhodes has paid his dues, entertained a television audience for seveal years, worked at this his whole life, has grown in all aspects, withstood the test of time, maintained our interest without much of a push in the past, established himself as one of the top 5 promo cutters in the buis, a highly technical and diversed moveset that brings an unorthodox style, and created fantastic characters. I don`t care if he doesn`t have a roided up khali body, I don`t care if he`s only 26 given he`s been in the buis longer than most. I care about what he can do, what he has done, and what he will do in the future.

Also Like to say Nick Nemeth and Bryan Danielson would prob tie for second place with their amazing in ring skill and decent promo work.

Dolph Ziggler for me, he's got the full package. He's got mic skills, he's talented in the ring, he's got a decent character and he's got charisma. The only thing I don't like about him is being with Vickie but that's simply because she irritates the hell out of me whether it be she's doing a good job as a heel or whether she's just annoying full stop.

I'd have to say Wade Barrett, in my opinion he should be main eventing. He has the looks of a champion, his mic work is crafty and he can get it done in the ring. In my opinion he is the UK version of Superman :)

Evan Bourne/Matt Sydal- 11 years in the biz
142 moves in his arsenal, cut down to 88 though in WWE
he's technically sound, has educated feet and is very
careful and precise in his execution. He's also a very humble
guy outside the ring as well, has a lot of humility.
He's good on the microphone, he has everything down pat BUT
he suffers from the Rey Mysterio syndrome of not being
intimidating but he's a great speaker check out his promoting
WWE in Brazzile{ spelled wrong, don't care} or interviews and his
podcast with Colt Cabana. He's spoken 8 times in WWE and
has been on screen for 3 years. He has charisma
charisma is a quality that makes people follow you or
root for you, I can safely say he has a HUGE fanbase.
He's not a jobber by any means his win/loss record is 62/52 and
he's been booked to beat 2 former world champions on PPV{ Jack
Swagger and Chris Jericho} and has 4 victories over Chris Jericho
who is a respected veteran.

Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan- Contrary to popular belief he is very underatted on the microphone, he SUCKS at scripted promos because on the indies you are seldom scripted, but he's emotional talker, check out his debut in ring promo on NXT, he's "shoot" on Michael Cole on NXT, his promo with Michael Cole about cashing in MITB and his first
youtube video and that will prove to you that he's charisma, it's a quality that makes people follow or root for you, he has a HUGE fanbase. If you find him boring you are NOT a wrestling fan at all,
you are a fan of sports entertainment and only appreciate the
spectacle of American wrestling.

Trent Baretta- I don't care if he's to low on the card to even be a midcarder, for as young as he is the guy is talented, he takes sick
bumps, sells great, is technically sound and brings back a lot of the
Hardy Boyz moves and executes them BETTER. He has a great gimmick
and if Generation Me is given a contract, he should be in a trio-tag team/stable with them. He's a good talent and he should be in the tag
division.

Justin Gabriel/Justin Angel- sound ground technician, amazing grappler, his style is hybrid and epic and he has amazingly educated feet.

Tyson Kidd/ TJ Wilson- He's 30, the same as age as Daniel Bryan, PUSH
him WWE, he's not to shabby on the mic, he's excellent in
the ring. Give him a midcard title run!

I'll say this I said at first that I didn't like Rhodes gimmick though it's kind of grown on me

I think he could have some great fueds against Big Zeke and Sin Cara for the IC title

very entertaining and very good on the mic other then Dolph Ziggler he's miles ahead of these other fill ins

I chose Evan Bourne because he has just grown well in WWE, and I feel like he could be in for a huge run with Kofi Kingston for the Tag Team Titles, then a Mudcard Championship. I can't wait to see how WWE plays this out.

R-Truth by a landslide. He's just by far the most entertaining. He's a great old-school heel (IE pre-attitude era) and his segments never fail to make me laugh. He's pretty darned good in the ring, I just wish he'd keep smoking and flicking cigarettes at people, that was cool.

It's a three-way tie between Wade,Cody and Dolph for me.

All three guys have great potential. Out of the three, Dolph can easily skyrocket quicker IMO once he officially turns face and abandon Vickie. That act would immediately put him over(Due to Vickie being a heat magnet) and from there, let's hope the WWE books him right.

Wade can easily be given a feud with the Undertaker for a match in WM28 because he was the one who led the Nexus during the time they interfered in the 'Taker-Kane bout. The main issue I have here is, I find it sort of hard to believe that 'Taker's potentially very last match would be against a yet-to-be established star and not against someone who already has credibility in the WWE like a Jericho. Then again, this could be WWE's way of putting over a future star.

Cody is easily an opponent of Orton in the long-run. They have history so a story could easily be put in place. Will he be Orton's opponent @WM28? It could be for the WHC too and assuming Daniel Bryan doesn't lose the briefcase and goes by his word of cashing it in at 'Mania, a match featuring Cody,Orton and Bryan can easily be a show-stealer.

I also believe that any of these three could make for a good Royal Rumble match winner as long as they're built up properly heading to the event.

A few of these guys have been impressing me alot lately,Wade Barrett,Alex Riley and especially Cody Rhodes have all been doing very well. However my favorite current midcarder has to be R-Truth, i've always loved Truth but since his heel turn i've become a huge huge fan. His mentally unstable character is brilliant and his always exellent ringwork makes him an exellent superstar and frankly while i'm happy to see him being a part of what seems to be a tag team that seems like it will be very entertaining and successful I think Truth deserves to up there in the main event with the big dogs.

I'm in the minority, and prepare your negative reps.

My favorite is Kofi Kingston.

Kofi is now my favorite wrestler since The Undertaker is pretty much done. I've watched him from the beginning since he first debuted on ECW. The kid is young and exciting. After 20 years of watching wrestling, I saw Kofi pull off moves I've never seen before. Barring watching Lucha Libre and Japan style, I had never seen anyone do the Ranhei (S.O.S.), the double legdrop, or even that crazy bounce-back move he does when someone tries to toss him out of the ring. Being innovative in wrestling nowadays is tough, and Kofi somehow pulls it off, and I still mark out when he does his jackknife-style cross body press (the spring he starts with plus the height he can get with it) on someone. The guy has been consistently popular with the fans, plus he's one of the few wrestlers that always finds a way onto the show, plus he has no attitude, injury or drug problems, and despite the lack of time on the mic, the guy has a lot of charisma that feeds into the crowd and a quiet intensity when he's wronged in a feud. And, he is African-American, which also means a lot to me personally.

I've said for a long time I could see him being the underdog World Champion that Mysterio was, and I'm holding out hope he can be that sooner than later.

Finally, a poll that was difficult to decide on! I have to say Dolph Ziggler, though Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett are very close behind. A lot of people seem to be high on Cody Rhodes, but that slow annoying thing he has going for him has worn me down. I used to love it, but now I'm waiting for the day when he shows a little more intensity, and a little less monotone. It's hard for me to continually get behind a character that can't get behind himself...

Anyways, I picked Dolph Ziggler because out of all the midcard champions in recent history, he has carried himself the best. A lot of times the IC or US titles get swept under the rug and the holder acts like it's no big deal. But Ziggler is the one guy that wears the suits and cuts promos about how great a champion he is, consistently. He is proud to hold that belt, and I think that makes him a pretty good champion, and a serious contender for best mid-card talent right now.

CODY RHODES!

He won me over with his *DASHING* gimmick, this guy has been on top of the midcard IMO since his feud with Rey Mysterio.. He put on a very believable match against Big Zeke defeating him 2 weeks straight and to show everyone that the little guys can do it just as well as the big guys.. I can see him conquering the midcard/upper-midcard and then doing exactly what he says about reviving the IC title and moving on the World title.

I'm going with my favorite, Justin Gabriel

He's young (hey, 30 isn't that old), has a good look that drives the girls nuts (me included) and he's got some sick in-ring skills! As someone once said in another thread he's like Jeff Hardy in a lot of ways. They have that big finisher that made them popular, they both kind of suck on the mic, but they make great champions. Plus he's currently on a bit of a winning streak since becoming a sinles competitor.

Am I seriouslly the only one who noticed that?

I cannot wait to see what WWE has in store for Justin in the future. :)
