You book the greatest concert ever...

Representing Seattle's Finest
Alright guys, this is your chance to create your dream concert. This is all your choice, but there are a couple of guidelines you have to follow.

1) All the acts must be under the same genre. This is because hearing a rap artist sandwiched between two screamo acts seems kinda unusual.

2) The opening act must be a newer act. One that has been growing in popularity. They may share some of the same qualities as the middle act or the closer, which is why they get to perform with them. The middle act can be a more well known group that's very popular but haven't yet achieved "music icon" status, if you understand what I'm saying. Finally the closer is what you think is the biggest act in the world. This is your Michael Jackson, your Beatles, your Rolling Stones.

Here's mine.

Opening Act: MUSE. I've been recently listening to these guys again and they are amazing. I hear a lot of the qualities that my middle and closing acts have and I feel they have a lot of potential to make it really big provided they get another album out. This concert could be the time to let them play some of their new songs.

Middle Act: Coldplay. It's like my closing act but more piano driven. These guys are wicked popular and only time will tell when they will achieve music icon status. So long as the band doesn't break up or anything.

Closing Act: U2. I will tell everybody and their unborn children that U2 is my most favorite band of all time. They've had a career that spans decades and thanks to the guitar stylings of the Edge, they have produced a sound that has influenced a generation. Heck most Christian acts have the same exact sound, look at the Newsboys.

If I could ever get these three bands in one place, I think I would die from the sheer awesomeness of having all of them together.

So there's mine. What would be your dream concert?

Interesting concept there And that would be one epically long and arduous concert once you get past Muse. I would personally love to do this and set up a festival type event using this concept, but I won't because that would be an insanely difficult thing to work out. anyway onto the choices and all that.

headlining: Black Sabbath. This would be one of those bands that I want to see and would probably jizz my pants in the front row, seeing Osbourne, Iommi, Butler and Ward. Sabbath is that awesome in its original incarnation that anything else is somewhat lessened.

Second level:Iron Maiden. Simply put the best band I have seen live and they were coasting rather than giving it their all. That says something about Maiden there. I love them and they are brilliant. Bruce's vocal talent as well as the individual talents are just awesome. I said when I went to their concert earlier in the year to a few friends of mine, I could die in the pit at Maiden and I would die happy.

1st Support:Mastodon. They have opened for Slayer and won over fans, simply put these four men are some of the most creative within the music industry today. Four Concept albums about the four elements, all with their own distinctive sound. They are so tight as a band that it is just jaw dropping that each album gets better and better.

2nd Support:Avenged Sevenfold. They have opened for Maiden before, and from what I have heard from my friends that have gone to see them live they are great live. Pyro and all that plus well constructed songs that when required are heavy as all fuck.

Local Support:Shihad. Im not sure if you have this sort of things in concerts outside New zealand but there is a tradition in New zealand of huge international acts having a local band to start off the shows and get the crowd started. Shihad are one of those bands that have tried to break the US market but was being forced to sell out by their record label, they said fuck that after one album under the name Pacifier. Still they are one of the best Live bands I have seen and the fact that they can command a crowd to almost destroy a square for a free concert just by moshing, or at the very least they hurried up the need for it to be repaired should tell you that they will warm up the crowd plenty for the headliners and the support acts.

Well I'm gonna kinda cheat a little as my bands don't actually have the same genre but they're all German bands and could realistically tour together if they came to the US (where I'm from).

Opening Act: Umbra Et Imago While not a "newer" act, if the tour was in the states, they're certainly not well known enough to be placed elsewhere. They deserve to headline 'cause they're an amazing band, especially for being in the Gothic Metal genre which isn't thought too highly of, but they do it perfectly.

Middle Act: Das Ich They have a bit of a bigger following outside Germany so they could take the second level. One of my all-time favorite bands who I really hope to see live someday.

Closing Act: Rammstein While I don't know if I would call them the "best" of the three, without question they have the biggest worldwide following and their stage show is unbelievable. If I can see one more band play live in my life, it would be Rammstein.

But I saw Projekt Revolution, and Snoop was playing after Korn and before Linkin Park, and the crowd was still pretty into it. It isn't a big deal, I'm not a huge fan of rap, so it doesnt affect me. Just wanted to point it out.

Opening Act SOiL. They have been around for almost 12 or 13 years, and yet not a whole lot of people know about them. They have played Ozzfest and rocked it out. But when lead singer Ryan McCombs left in 2004, they slumped, and their last record didn't do so hot. But they are ready to tour again, and they are my opening act.

Middle Act Papa Roach. Simply put, they have been putting out very good music since they formed. They are one of my other hard rock/nu metal bands in my top 5, and since this has to be "like" concerts, I can't have my Offspring as the Middle Act. Although they normally would be.

Closing Act Linkin Park. For me, it all revolves around the LP. They are my favorite band of all time, and I wouldn't put anyone above them to see. They help me keep going when I am down, and they give me added energy when I am feeling great. Although it would be mostly stuff from Hybrid Theory and Meteora, maybe a few songs from Minutes to Midnight.

Alternative
Opening act: Cage the Elephant: I love this band their debut album is out and it's great my local radio station plays Ain't No Rest for the wicked constantly. And they're not very well known but should be.
Middle act: 311: Normally they would be headliners but with my headlining act they'll be the middle act, I love their work especially hey you.
Headliner: Nirvanna: I know Cobain is dead but that wasn't a restriction you listed. Who doesn't love Lithium, Smells Like Teen Spirit and Come As You Are, they would bring the house down.

Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock
Opening act: Dead Season: Their a localishh band tha thas a record deal and some albums out youtube, you won't be disappointed. Their sound is very good and kind of similar to Mudvayne, not really but sort of.
Middle act: GWAR: These guys have a reat stage show, My dad went to a concert with them once, came back coverd in stage blood. Plus their songs are great and I've never heard a bad song from them.
Headliner: Rage Against The Machine: They would kick ass, live especially Kmy favorite song from them, Testify I love the guitar before Zach de la Rocha says Testify! kind of reminds me of Team 3D.
Any way those would be my dream concerts to go to I picked two becaseu of the they have to be same genre rule but, I'm allowed to pick Nirvanna becase they're alternative like Cage The Elephant and 311, but I can't have Hollywood UNdead and GWAR, whatever.
