WZT3 - Most Impressive Group Showing

The Japanese.

Misawa, Muta, and Liger put on a damn impressive showing this year. Liger ousted Michaels. Misawa was given a sendoff fit for a king prior to his death. Muta nearly cracked the Elite 8.

The Canadians.

We expect them to do well, but 3 of the final 4? Jericho, Hart, and Edge made huge showings, with Benoit in the Elite 8 as well.

The Superheavyweights.

Yokozuna held his own. Bigelow beat Flair before losing to Chris Jericho in a gimmick he'd never have won. Vader nearly made it back to the regional finals. Andre and Wight destroyed everyone until they matched against Vader. Hell, if not for the Triple Threat Ladder Match, You may have had 4 SHW's in the Elite 8.

The super heavyweights should have done much better. They barely made an impact. Who got the furthest? Bigelow? Still didn't get very far, did he? They failed to get further than last year's impressive showing. You're showing your age, Canadian!

 

[Tastycles]

Tell you who it fucking wasn't, and that's Mexico. For me, the Japanese have given the biggest shock. The poor showing of the Mexicans only serves to show how ethnocentric the forums are as a whole, and the fact that there were Japanese wrestlers left in the round of 16 as Americans would call it, is impressive.

El Canek ended up picking pieces of guitar out of his teeth. That's my pride and joy. It'd be my tournament trophy if it weren't for Will's admission of defeat over Undertaker and Edge.
