It's always annoying when people try to create a backstory for your own character in their RPs. Especially when it doesn't make any sense.

Yep. I'm online all the time and I like to think I'm good about answering PMs, and this would've been an easy question.

To be fair, didn't I kinda do that with Kurtesy and Sandy (worth noting that I indeed did PM FalKon about this, and he was in the know)

The parentheses are the important part. It's similar to using the character in an RP, to me. There are times when adding backstory to someone else's character can make sense, but you can't do it without checking with the handler first.

To be clear, I'm not angry at Dirk. It's annoying, but my goal is more to open the dialogue about how I, and at least one other person, view it and why it can cause issues.

This. It's okay to do it if the person gives his blessing. It's a whole other thing to create a part of a character's history that is not your own without consent.

You don't have to do that. Like I said, I'm not angry; it's an easy mistake that can get overlooked. That's why I wanted to mention it in here.

It used to take me 8 hours to finish an RP that should have taken me 3. Hooray for procrastination, distractions, and ADD.

Sometimes that can be a good thing. I remember having something similar happen to my RP against Ty Burna at KC and I ended up writing a better (winning) promo in the end because I simplified my point but re-wrote the sentences with more powerful words and more meaning behind them.

Sometimes that can be a good thing. I remember having something similar happen to my RP against Ty Burna at KC and I ended up writing a better (winning) promo in the end because I simplified my point but re-wrote the sentences with more powerful words and more meaning behind them.

I can understand that, but it's a little demoralizing when you're writing at 11 at night, only for that to happen.

Ahh well, if I can hang on through mediocre live Raws, I can probably hang on here too.

Well that was a busy week. I don't think I've ever been amongst the last people to post an RP. But there it is now. I do believe I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to whomever requested the extension as I simply would not have turned out a decent RP yesterday.

I'm going to sleep for four and a half hours now before I finally finish my RP tomorrow morning, hopefully just after the deadline ends. Going to the gym tired me out more than I thought today, and I really need to rest after it.
