It's always annoying when people try to create a backstory for your own character in their RPs. Especially when it doesn't make any sense.

Yep. I'm online all the time and I like to think I'm good about answering PMs, and this would've been an easy question.

To be fair, didn't I kinda do that with Kurtesy and Sandy (worth noting that I indeed did PM FalKon about this, and he was in the know)

So, Ilapa's into drug running, huh? Haha. Yeah, that would annoy me too. Only time somebody ever really made their own backstory for Vega was when I faced Shotaro, but like Thriller mentioned he'd prefer, Shots PM'd me and asked me for my blessing. When I said I was cool with it, he asked me about some info on Vega's past... and I gave him all the ammo he needed. I even gave him information on Vega's history that I hadn't clearly illustrated through RPs yet just so that he would have a better context for his RP.

In return, he gave me some info about James Howard's past that helped me with my RP. It was the first time I worked with an opponent on connecting RPs, but it was actually a lot of fun. I thought Vega/Howard could have had a nice program after that, but it was not to be. Our match did lead to my favorite segment of the year though... the return of Red Mask to end the show by saying "Heroes Never Die," on Veterans Day.

How that show was not even nominated for best regular show of the year is beyond me.

I did a similar thing during the Daggershield feud, when Fallout took out his merry band of misfits one by one until only Theron remained, before finishing it with Fallout's journey into a land similar to Theron's. As long as you don't do anything stupid or out of character, I'm sure most people will be willing to either use their characters or get involved with that character's respective NPC's, so long as you PM them first running your ideas by them.

Better safe than sorry though.

This. Fallout and I did a lot of back and forth PM'ing and it made our feud very fun. I wasn't ok with something he wanted to do, so we came up with another idea together. I told him and have told others as well, if you want to use Theron or any of his misfits you're fine to as long as you ask me first and tell me what they'd be doing.

At the moment I am out of character brainstorming, have chosen a character to develop, and I have moved onto character development. It will be interesting to see how everyone else in the fed interacts with this character.

I was playing Diddy Kong Racing the other day trying to unlock that bastard. One of the hardest things to do in video gaming history.

I bought Diddy Kong racing the other day. I remembered it being just as good as Mario Kart, but I was wrong. Looking at it now, it doesn't even compare to Mario Kart on the 64. The choice of the different vehicles were ahead of its time, but the overall presentation just doesn't add up. I had the same shattering of nostalgia when I bought Snowboard Kids as well.

Wha??? DKR is eons better than Mario Kart. Far better 1st player mode, much harder tracks, more tracks, a two player story mode, 3 different vehicles, and bonus and boss stages. Literally the only thing Mario Kart has on DKR is a superior battle mode.

It's like saying Mario 64 was better than Banjo Kazooie because of reputation.

Oh God. I bought DKR when my friend moved in because he had an N64 (with Mario Kart) because I loved both games.

I returned DKR two days after I bought it. I can't believe how much it lacked versus Mario Kart.

Did we ever figure who Eve Taylor is?

If the writer of Eve Taylor deems it acceptable, I was going to have a game this round, of guess the RP'er. Person who guesses the writer, wins feedback this round!

(The writer of Eve Taylor may feel free to tell me this is acceptable in any way possible... Rep always is a good way to send a message to someone...)

Meh, I'll admit that the amount to do in 1st player is way more extensive, but I like the fact that Mario maintains more the fact that it is a racing game and not so much story driven. I can do without harder tracks, as they do not sell the game for me. I'm playing the game to race, not to get frustrated at falling off the edge several times. The ghost tracks are some of the "hardest" on Mario Kart and I find them the most annoying. I just want to compete against my friends and the CPU racers, not the track itself.

Also, a game being mainstream does not automatically mean it is lauded because of its reputation.

I've beaten the ghost races on Mario Kart. But I haven't on DKR as I haven't unlocked TT. Seems to me you like multiplayer racers. In that case I'd highly recommend Rush 2049. IMO that's the best multiplayer racer for the N64.
