You know I was hesitant to make the comment considering but then I realized that his wasn't meant to be played off for laughs.

This one took that and rocketed to the moon, but with vulgarity instead of evil.

Speaking of Ramparte, why do I think Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus would be a good theme song for him?

There's nothing wrong with a character being too evil; Fallout is borderline genocidal at times, Zeus burned Kurtesy's mothers grave; but the Stratton scenario did nothing to make the character more evil; it just makes the character look stupid.

I meant, the advice given to him during the Symposium, I think, was that "too over the top" would become "comical" rather than something to be feared and taken seriously.

Stratton didn't look evil at all, but the vulgarity and such made me think of just some kid who learned how to say "fuck" and so repeated it over and over, rather than being what I think the character is striving for.

I think Ramparte should be a little more like Alex from Clockwork Orange personally. OK, last suggestion for Ramparte, I'm just invested into the character, that's all.

Yeah, I agree with your analogy on Stratton. I changed my mind and decided to give him some feedback now seeing as I have nothing better to do. The more the merrier.

Yes, but with this caveat: stuff like that almost never gets posted, so the pool of ignorant/offensive RPs is actually quite small.

I was told subtlety would be key for my kind of character, and I agree entirely. Hoping it comes off a bit this round and not like the Mandar from Dexter's Lab I felt was going to happen if not for feedback.

And "Personal Jesus" is excellent.

Perhaps this is entirely unecessary... But frankly, to me, it is necessary. I would like to apologize to the rest of the fed, for this. I've asked creative if I can apologize, because frankly, it's unacceptable that anyone should have had to read that. And thus, I'm deeply sorry... Anyone that knows me knows that I take matters like this super seriously. Probably more than I should, but that's how I roll. I don't want to speak for creative, but I don't think I'm going above their heads to say we're going to make this is handled in the appropriate way, and we would really appreciate everyone going through the rule book.

Just... Can we please put a moratorium on misogyny in our RP's, everyone? Please? I'm sorry to be super serious right now... But if you feel like you're going to go over the line, don't.

I can't ask everyone to stop talking about it, but just... Let's all exercise a little more caution. And again, I'm really sorry guys.

I'm pretty sure Melon Farmer as Hasheem once did a terrorist angle, and of course Vega killed a man.

His RP did get the character heat, but, it there wasn't allot of depth. Izzy could easily pick up the win if she plays her cards right. As long as she doesn't write a "you think I suck because I'm a woman? Fuck you" promo. That's just as stereotypical.

AshLeigh Falkon's first RP and Milenko's transgender RP were on the level, and another fed I saw someone attempt to write a lesbian with the subtlety and expertise of someone trying to shove an anvil through the eye of a needle, so no.
