That makes no sense whatsoever but that's probably my American showing.

Ok so imagine a basketball court with 10 players scattered and one dude at one end with the ball throwing a fast bounce pass across the whole court into the other sides net. Now imagine there's two dudes from the opposition standing behind each ends free throw line defending the hoop. The aim of the 2 big dudes is to whack the bounce pass away from the hoop with wooden planks, have no one catch it, and run to the other free throw line before the 10 guys throw the ball in either hoop, since they're "safe" behind the free throw line.

Replace the hoops with sticks in the ground and the basketball with a tennis ball made out of leather and you've basically got cricket.

Edit: The best form is that game you play as a kid in the drive way where you hit the ball and then the bowler has to throw it at the stumps/brick wall from where the ball stops rolling. Backyard/beach cricket is also a beautiful thing.

All this cricket talk is giving me a migraine. It made no sense even after M's description. Glad you guys like it though. Always hold onto the things you like, you have your likes and dislikes for a reason, it is part of what makes you "you".

Anyway, I'm with FalKon. Sports are so incredibly boring, I can't stand them. I'll watch a big football or basketball game with the guys if it's a "guys night" to hang out, but by myself it's nearly torture. UFC is the closest I come to liking a sport and even with that I'm only a casual fan of it. Watched the latest Ronda Rousey fight though.

Comparing it to the 70s and 80s where both benches would empty during huge brawls, it really has been pussyfied since then. But if my team were to make the playoffs, nothing beats NHL hockey during the playoffs. The hits get bigger, the blood boils hotter because teams will play each other night after night. Its one of the toughest trophy's to win in sports.

People not keeping their sick brats at home thereby making me sick on Christmas.

I don't like Soccer. A really long game that ends in a 1-0 score most of the time. Plus the pansies that play it...ugh. Sure, they are phenomenal athletes but look out if another player brushes up against their leg. He will drop to the ground holding his arm like he was shot ! I really hate that and apparently it happens alot.

Plus I'd hate to be the guy sitting close to these fans that bring those ultra loud horns that are blowing throughout the game. How do people not turn on these guys and fuck them up is beyond me, especially how violent some fan bases in Soccer can be.

I had a fun Christmas with family and friends. Two of my gifts were confiscated by border security. In the past few years I've been kind of obsessed with collecting bad ass weapons. I have a really excellent looking , curved dragon dagger that my favorite. A weapon that got through for some weird reason ( while the others got held ). Is a beautiful Rambo-esque hunting knife with a carved spider on the handle. I opened the remaining gifts with the knife. What did everyone get for Xmas ?

I got a throw blanket that has little puppies on it, a Zelda Triforce watch, a surprisingly large number of Sailor Venus novelties including an awesome wall scroll of her, a candleholder with a cool celtic design, and a giftcard to a local media store (they sell games, music, movies, books, and novelties).
