WZCW Discussion Thread

Will the #1 contendership contenders (for lack of a better word) know going into the show what kind of match(es) they will be in when the boards go up or will it remain TBA like in the preview and we all RP in the same thread?

I think for this PPV it will be an over the top rope Battle Royale. We might try to come up with a different idea, but for now plan on it being a Battle Royale. If we decide to go a different direction, we'll make an announcement.

Killjoy, Vega has had more successful title defenses in one reign than you managed in all yours combined. Constant title defenses don't work in reality (TNA dropped it twice, WWE played it for comedy), they didn't work well in WZCW (since the rule was dropped in Bowen's reign, the number of two round champions dropped like a stone). It makes for a hot potatoed title that benefits nobody. I'm going to cut myself off here before I puss off Creative for shitting on their idea though.

In fairness, it doesn't appear to be a constant defense like a TV title but an every other round sorta deal. Which isn't that bad considering it makes the title more defining than say the Eurasian.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of the Battle Royal idea. I get why it's happening but it feels like we have battle royals far too often.

Pancake, the title revamp shows all the signs of being designed around being defended every round. Seven fits in too perfectly to a two cycle reign to be coincidental.

Let me put it this way, if either of the guys challenging for the EX title can win their next 7 matches, they'd be in the world title match at Unscripted (SHIT has a spare week where he can cut a promo to set it up)

I think what's probably going to happen is that we're going to have a different type of match each PPV. Redemption might feature a battle royale, but Apocalypse might have the TNA Contracts on a Pole match, Unscripted could have an Iron Man type match, etc. Give us a little more credit than using the battle royale over and over.

We left the door open for off weeks where the Elite X Champ might be in a tag match and therefore the title would not be on the line. If the Elite X holder PM's creative and asks for a break from defending the title, I'm sure we could work something out.

Additionally, we made the number of weeks 7 because we thought that was a reasonable number of title defenses, but still a feat that would be hard to obtain. Remember, we don't want this to be easy, we want this to be something that separates the best from the rest. We originally had the amount of defenses set at 10, but we decided that was too high.

I always thought having both the Elite X and Eurasian Titles was a bit overkill anyway, so using one as effectively as a gauntlet is no issue for me, unless I lose it on my first, or last defence, in which case its clear bullshit and the whole thing should be retracted immediately.

It's better than the unification idea proposed when I was there. I'm willing to see it work out and hope it can allow everyone to get a shot. I'm not convinced about the three winner idea to be honest. That part seems a little off to me.

Forgot to make a public note, but this part has been amended via frog in the announcement thread.

Like a good little bitch, I'm going to RP for a strong showing at the Battle Royal, rather than playing to win. That's why I'm the Ned Stark of the low-carders, baby!
