Oh, send the PM to me! I'll handle the feud. As
the new guy, I don't get many PM's or much
responsibility for feuds.
You do trust me to handle the feud, right Bear, ol'
buddy?
Of course! Next to Brian O' Driscoll, you're my favourite Irishman. It's close, too...

Just for sheer curiousity, what do we count at lengthy? More than a cycle?

I would say 2 cycles is a healthy lengthy feud. I say healthy because I think anything beyond that starts flirting with being too much in my eyes. Time is elongated in the fed and 2 full cycles would be 4 months or so feuding with the same person. I couldn't imagine doing a feud longer than that.

In his first two years in the fed, Barbosa did not have anything that could really be called a feud.

However, in the last 13 months, he has had a two cycle feud with SHIT then an almost two cycle feud with the Empire alongside SHIT.

I can count the amount of lengthy feuds I've had with one hand.

So that gives me Karnage, Phoenix, Hammond and Rush as my list of long term feuds/angles. And I've come out on top in nearly all of those (I lost that First Blood match. Damn you, Thriller) so I'm pretty happy with my record.

I might have three more already in motion if me and Izzy square off after Redemption, and if Overlast and Beckford ever return.

And I've got Titus, Black Dragon and Beckford on the list of feuds that were set in motion but never really panned out. The Beckford one in particular could've been awesome, especially after Blade turned up at the funeral of Becks' mother.

Sorry, got lost in my reminiscing. Blade just seems to get on the wrong side of a lot of people.

  • Steven Holmes
  • Ty Burna & The Apostles of Chaos
  • Dr. Zeus

These are the only three long-term feuds I've had that were consistent over time. Thus far, I've come out on top of the first two and I'm still waiting on the latter to hit the blow-off. I've been in WZCW more years than I've had feuds... what the hell have I been doing?

More than two cycles you say?

So Saxoteur, The New Church, The Sacrificial Altar. (Yes I count them seperately as we were in a feud with them for two whole cycles before GM revealed himself.

Eurasian/Drake/Showtime
The Dark Alliance Storyline (Showtime, Titus, Corey Payne, Vengeance)
Gordito
Showtime
Barbosa was off and on again but never really full blown
Austin Reynolds
Apostles of Chaos (Chris KO feud part of that)

Califa:
Drake Callahan

I've come to find from this feud with FalKon that I like two cycle feud. It's why I'll usually plan on some sort of continuance after the first match. It gives a chance to build a far more personal feud, which I hope stuck out in the Kurtesy/Zeus feud

Barbosa/Ty never developing into a fully fledged feud was a real disappointment.

I really enjoyed Ty's appearances in Barbosa RPs. I went down the Undertaker route with him appearing out of nowhere on occasion. Had Barbosa singing been the culmination of an intense feud it would have been so much more epic than it was already was.

Hm in my two years here I got

Stantime
Mind Over Matter
Sons of Destiny
Strikeforce/BLT
Austin Reynolds
Vega/Reese
Strikeforce/TSA

Not bad all things considering.

My only real concern about the Elite X Championship change, is what happens after the person does get to 7 defences? Do they automatically drop the Championship, regardless of whether they win the big one? Or do they keep it and drop it after?

And if it is the latter, then you won't have an Elite X feud that cycle, since the Champions will be too busy feuding with each other.

Another issue is that the Elite X Championship is going to become a bridge Championship if it is the former. You're going to end up with a strong Champion vacating the belt and numerous tournament and matches to decide the new Champion / number one contender.

I'll wait and see but I don't think it's a good call. Wiling to be proved wrong though.

I was skeptical at first too Dave, but the system has some merit and is specifically designed to cater the problem of people "outgrowing" their title. If someone can successfully defend the Elite X Title 7 times they will drop the title and be given a World Title Shot. Weather that'll be an insertion into an already planned match or a separate 1v1 program will depend on the timing of the successful 7th defense. The title will be defended every round. Meaning that more people will get title shots as well. Of course, things always look great on paper so let's give it a whirl first.

It's weird but anything that gets more title shots on the go is a good thing to me. I'm surprised that seven was the chosen number though.
