WWE UK Championship Tournament (Both Days LD)

That had to be Bate's moment though. And it sort of takes the ultimate drama out of the final. Bate is no where near ready to be tabbed to win this tourney, and there is absolutely no way you can convince that WWE would put this belt on a teenager.
I think everything is in the air.

So many people were saying a Dunne vs Seven final and then Wolfgang vs Dunne.

Ever since the bracket dropped, I had the Andrews/Dunne winner picked to win the tourney- the fact that Dunne is facing Bate, and not Wolfgang or Seven, only furthers my confidence in that selection.

That is probably what's going to happen but I can't count Bate out until he's pinned. I never expected him to make it this far so they had to have done this for a reason.

I know it makes sense, because Neville's on the main roster and End isn't even on NXT yet, but I'm still surprised by that result. Maybe because I'm used to End as a killing machine.

End looked more comfortable working a WWE style match than I was expecting to see from him right out of the gate.

I think they're setting up Bate as the young underdog who will beat the heel in the final.

I gotta think that, why else would they have had him get this far? If his age was a detriment they wouldn't have had him get out of the opening round.

Because you're second guessing Dunne. It adds to the drama. I imagine that Bate is winning simply because that's how WWE's typical narrative unfolds (bad guy gets built up, advances via nefarious means only to come undone by the all conquering hero/underdog), but Dunne is legitimately an overwhelming favourite given the exposure he's been given and history he has as PROGRESS Champion.

Yeah I think this is all just a way to build a strong and dominant heel champ. It's a good starting block if they're going to turn this into its own television brand. If they were going to have a babyface champion, I believe Andrews would have won, he was clearly the best face option, just as Dunne was the best heel option.

This. The winner of this tourney boiled down to Andrews vs. Dunne.
