WWE SummerSlam 8/18/13 LD: The Best, The Beast, and The Beard!

Gonna watch Summerslam tommorow but from reading the results just now the PPV sounds awesome.

What did Bryan beat Cena with though? KB said it was the Shining Wizard but Coco said it was the Buisaku Knee Kick.

I've been waiting on someone to bring that up.

In short, it was a running knee to the head. If anyone complains that I said the wrong thing, I'll laugh at them for thinking it really makes a difference.

No one wants to be compared to Tony Schiavonte

Best ending imaginable. Orton goes heel which makes him important again and DB looks like a million bucks.

Fuck the boring shit people wanted. Putting Orton and HHH together in this adds drama, something WWE lacks today. Great matches do not draw ratings without great stories. This is a soap opera for men, remember that. Best show in a long, long time.

No surprise that Punk/Lesnar and Cena/Bryan were both really great.

But as for the ending angle...

The ultimate rub for Bryan resulting from this would be HHH putting over Bryan in a cell at HIAC.

Anyone think that there is an outside chance of a complete return of Evolution?

Thumbs Up
Best Match: John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan
Worst Match: Bray Wyatt vs. Kane

The Wyatt Family proved why they are not worth The Shield's TV exposure, what an awful, awful match to start the show. The story seems cool as did the production for the match, but god was it awful. - (minus) *

Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow had little to no time and the match seemed rushed. They can easily have a better one, even though this one was solid as it was. Lacked the offense of Damien Sandow, he never seemed pointed to win it. ** 1/2

Alberto Del Rio got a black eye thanks to our own Scottish favorite wrestler Drew McIntyre, can we get a push for him now? Oh yeah Alberto Del Rio and Christian had a great match yet again. Del Rio's kicks are probably top 3 in the entire business and he's finally getting some really good heat. Christian never stood a chance, he just looks really old right now which saddens me. *** 3/4

Baroock Lesnar did it! He beat the best in the world, yey! To me that was it in terms of CM Punk/Lesnar saga, it made sense since CM Punk needs to hate Paul Heyman more and more and more. Also it made Lesnar look like the monster that he's supposed to be so beware Deadman. The storytelling of the match and the MMA incorporation of moves was different for the WWE world and it worked really well, specially since Lesnar was such a class act selling CM Punk's submission maneuvers like a million dollars. I loved every bit of the match and it had the same quality as the Cena/Lesnar back in 2012. **** 1/2

The main event was an all time classic that will stick with me for the rest of my WWE fandom. The story and the crowd was great! I'm happy for everyone involved, never in my life would I think that Bryan Danielson was gonna beat John Cena cleanly in the main event of a big pay-per-view. I liked the slap-off, which showed that Bryan respected Cena as a wrestler as much as Cena respected him. The "my arm is fine" thing was very class act from Cena, as he was putting Bryan over, really, really OVER! If John Cena retired tomorrow, he would have gone home with a bang, but I hope I'll be present for the "Thank You Cena" chant from pretty much the entire world when it happens. This was easily a 5 star match in my book, but I'm assuming it will not be, but what the hell - *****

The post match angle/cash-in was brilliant too. When they had the fireworks I actually thought it was it and that the WWE would actually give him a small run (lack of heels made me think that from the beginning), so kudos for the WWE. Randy Orton and HHH together yet again made me jizz mentally as I am probably the biggest Randy Orton mark in this boards. The chase will be great as will the matches, and yes, Daniel Bryan is a former WWE Champion ROH fans... YOU DID IT!

The money making matches were both fantastic, so the PPV was worth every dollar/euros to me. Also I am embarrassed, but I actually laughed to the Miz/Maria dancing scene. And, and, it was a shame that Ziggler/AJ/Big E. were put in that awful spot.
