WWE Round 3, Match 1: The Brainbusters vs. the Hardy Boys

The Brainbusters (Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard)

vs.

The Hardy Boys (Matt and Jeff Hardy)

Best match so far this round. I am VERY intregued by it.

And I voted for The Brainbusters.

Tell me this - what do the Hardy Boyz bring to the table that the Brainbusters do not? High flying ability? Ok, fantastic. The high risk style of the Hardys is as much to their detriment as it is to their credit. When Jeff or Matt climbs a rope to do a spot monkey move, you have two of the greatest ring technicians of all time in Arn and Tully. If anyone knows how to counter, it's those two. Furthermore, you have Bobby Heenan, one of the greatest heel managers of all time, on the outside. Expect a foot grabbed at least once.

Aside from that, the Brainbusters have the edge in technical prowess, strength and power, experience, etc. Arn Anderson himself is one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time. And furthermore, athleticism is a push. You cannot play the "wear them down" card in the Hardyz favor since the Brainbusters were one of the all-time great teams at slowing down the pace of a match. They will conserve and be ready.

Don't vote for the Hardyz based off of their names, the currency of their careers, or their success as singles stars. Vote the Brainbusters off of their overall natural ability and accomplishments. And remember - there are no ladders, no scaffolds, no chairs. And in that match, Arn and Tully rule.

Wow I would pay to see this match. While the Hardys are overrated as hell, I have a passion for watching brothers as a team. Just like with Harlem Heat, there's a chemistry there that no friendship can match. The same blood flows through their bodies. The Hardys are considered flashy, but they have some great talent.

They are up against two Horsemen. The tag team of the Horsemen at that. These two are such masters at this sport that very very few people come close. You here people talk about how Shawn is a ring general, or HHH can physically dissect an opponent. I've been around to see those two, and I've seen as much tape of the Busters as is humanly possible, and I know this: No one, not Shawn, not HHH, not anyone today holds a candle to those two in taking someone apart. They could beat down anyone you gave them and Matt or Jeff are no exceptions. The Busters win a 4.5 star classic.

Looks like The Canadian and Sam have finally come to an agreement with the evil Baron von Klunder. Seems due to the absence of a TNA team. Won't last long then.

Everyone gather round and be quiet. I'll say this once and just once. The Hardys are an underrated team. There, I said it. If the Dudleys and E & C get such massive praise as they do - the former being the most gold-strapped tag team of all time and the latter being reigning tag tournament champions - then The Hardys deserve just as much. Spot monkeys they may be, but that's just their style. They've proved enduring, popular and successful, as well as *choke* quite entertaining at times. They are the face of tag team wrestling in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world.

However, you knew that this was coming, the Brainbusters are unquestionably my pick here. More efficiently explained by Klunder and IC than I could ever hope to. So let's steal their words. I'll dismiss the manager argument; I reckon such arguments are cheap and, in this case at least, unnecessary.

My vote went to the Brainbusters on this one. While the Hardy's are a great high flying brother team, Arn and Tully are just too damn crafty for them. One mistake and the Hardys are done for. Arn and Tully would methodically break the Hardys down from limb to limb. This would be a classic match but the Brainbusters were just too smart for the Hardy's.

Only one vote down with a few days left. Come on, people, let's rally for The Brainbusters. Don't be blinded by the fact that the Hardyz are current and are Main Eventers. That has no bearing. As a tag team, they were great, but the Brainbusters were just a little bit better. Chalk it up to a bad draw for Matt and Jeff.

This is truly disgusting. Where oh where are the Hardy fans that are voting in this thing? Not a one has come out from the woodwork to back their decision. They don't have to, but I sense cowardice and a lack of any real reason on why you would pick them besides being a blind mark for the Hardys. It's your opinion, but make an argument.

The Brainbusters are a far far superior team to the Hardys. The Hardys are terrible and over rated, plaina nd simple. The Brainbusters would destroy them. In fact, look at the Rockers, some saying the blueprint team of the Hardy's. The Brainbusters destroyed the Rockers routinely. You can vote for the Hardy's if you want, it's simply the wrong choice.

In an earlier match I was reading I saw someone say these posters are picking the Hardy's over AA/Tully and once again I was disappointed as with the Road Warriors. I hope no one else votes in this match because my vote put the Brain Busters ahead by one vote. I know I haven't particapted as much in this one due to a new job and other responsiblites but I love these touranments and anyone who remembers my posts know I bleed Ric Flair and the Horsemen. The only team left that I think could and should beat the Brain Busters are the Steiners. If anyone else is going to vote please please look up the brian busters matches.

This is ridiculous, the Hardy's were a good team. But my god this is the fucking BRAINBUSTERS. Part of the FOUR HORSEMEN. Tully and Arn had tag team wrestling down to a science. The Hardy's just flew off shit. I like them, but they stand no chance in winning an actual match. Arn alone would tear them apart. I really want to know why the people that voted for the Hardy's havent posted. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Really.

I am going to take a wack and back up my voting

I voted for the Hardyz. They have been tag champs roughly 7 times, they were up against some stellar teams in the Dudleyz and even E&C and they came out with 7 titles, yes most are worthless but they've been one of the most prestigious teams in the WWE for 10 years or so.

Don't get me wrong i love the BrainBusters and they're one of my all time favorite teams but i believe it stops here, because of the Hardyz accomplishments in the WWE. I believe there 7 reigns are far better than the BrainBusters reigns in NWA and the WWF.

They might get their asses kicked but they'd probably win on name recognition.

It's also based on working as a team. The Brainbusters worked alot better as a team than the Hardy's ever did. Plus back in those days there was tougher competition for the Tag Titles.

They were the most prestigious team for 10 years... 6 of those were spent apart. At least you justified your post Brian, I respect that. I also respect the fact that the Hardys 7 reigns were during Title hot potato period aka Attitude Era
