I'm glad WWE is making these cuts. It's a new year, and it's time to kill the dead weight. So far we have Bam Neeley, D'Lo Brown, and Val Venis gone, and there's really no reason to miss them.
Bam was dead weight for Chavo, and the best they seemed to have for him was teasing us with a possible Bam/Chavo feud. But with the end of La Familia's extended family, i.e., Hawkins, Ryder, and Neeley, there wasn't a thing for him to do. Ezekiel has a better look and a better partner than Neeley, and you only need one bodyguard, really. Neeley wasn't going anywhere, and like the rest of these guys, was taking up money.
D'Lo is the same story. He never got off to the right start in his new run, and there's really nowhere to book him. The best they could have done was maybe set him up in a tag team, but I can't see a good partner for him off the top of my head. Was alright in his last run, but his second run hasn't been worth it, and he just had nothing to do in the midcard.
Val Venis hasn't been on TV for god only knows how long, and has been wasting space and money. He was an alright midcarder in his time, but since becoming a jobber and getting injured or whatever has kept him out for this year, there's no reason to keep him on. I hear he has a radio show which should keep him busy, I guess, for the time being.
So these 3 guys, I have no problems with. Cutting the fat out is the best decision for WWE. What I do question, though, is cutting out two of their better referees - to a lesser extent, Mike Posey, and to a greater extent, Jim Korderas. Both are great refs, but especially Korderas, who has been with the company for so long and has so much experience, which not only makes him a good ref, but an asset for teaching the new guys. I don't see why they didn't just cut a few of the newer guys instead of these veterans.
