Go ahead and call it a reunion tour. Chalk it up to old habits dying hard, if you must. Whatever the case may be, the Team Rhodes Scholars duo of Damien Sandow & Cody Rhodes has agreed to team again, for one night only, against the newly formed unit of Brodus Clay & Tensai on the free Elimination Chamber Pre-Show this Sunday. The Pre-Show will stream live on WWE.com, YouTube.com/WWE and Facebook.com/WWE starting at 7:30 ET/4:30 PT.

The freshly announced tag team match represents Sandow & Rhodes’ first time partnering with each other since their amicable split. It was on the blue brand that The Intellectual Savior of the Masses and “The Essence of Mustachioed Magnificence,” in an emotional exchange, declared their intentions of pursuing singles competition at the expense of their partnership. Though Rhodes & Sandow still appear intent on moving up the ranks of WWE individually, they have nonetheless signed on to compete in the Pre-Show.

Juxtaposing the brainy bromance Sunday will be scale-tipping, boogying buddies Brodus Clay & Tensai. Quickly becoming one of WWE’s most popular, albeit strangest, combinations, the Clay-Tensai tandem has blossomed since to Tensai’s reluctant embrace of the funk on Raw Roulette weeks ago. (The Funkasaurus has gone so far as to informally dub his new pal “Funksai.”) It remains to be seen how effectively the two super heavyweights — whose combined weight totals nearly 750 pounds — will work as a team once the bell rings, but if Clay & Tensai’s dance steps are any indication of their potential, Team Rhodes Scholars could be in for a long night Sunday.

The Pre-Show battle poses major implications for WWE’s tag team division, as well as for the duo that presides over it, the supremely dysfunctional Team Hell No. Would a Team Rhodes Scholars victory be enough to convince Sandow & Rhodes to switch gears and reunite as a team on a permanent basis? Clay’s jovial pre- and post-match celebrations have rubbed off on Tensai, but will the latter’s fury and intensity spark a fire under The Funkasaurus, and to what end?

Tag team wrestling aficionados will surely watch with curiosity as this special attraction bout kicks off a night of all-out mayhem Sunday. Don’t miss one second of WWE Elimination Chamber action, starting with the Pre-Show at 7:30 ET/4:30 PT.

A reunion tour, eh? Well fuck yeah; let us keep Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes together. With the awful tag team division, keeping a solid team like Rhodes Scholars together can only benefit the division. With that said, it's not a hundred percent that these two will be sticking together minus a couple of "reunions" a WWE.com called it. In a match with little build, I can see why this match was bumped to the pre-show. As long as it keeps Miz vs. Cesaro from slipping away I'm happy. Brodus Clay and Tensai are a new tag team; a tag team I feel like I and the rest of WWE's audience can get behind. So I wouldn't be surprised to see Brodus and Tensai cleanly go over one of the better tag teams of the last year in securing their spot as a dominant force in the tag team division. It's a throw away match that we could see on Smackdown, Raw or any number of WWE’s programming. No harm in Damien and Cody taking the loss here and I expect them to.

Hamler's Prediction -Brodus Clay & Tensai will defeat Team Rhodes Scholars.

Not sure why they broke up The Rhodes Scholars in the first place, but i wish they would have stayed broken up if they were going to get fed to Brodus and Tensai, but that is what is going to happen. The division has really fallen back down and that disappoints me. I am also glad that this will be on the preshow so we get to see Cesaro vs Miz on the main card. Brodus and Tensai will get the win here in what I am betting will be little more than a squash match.

I don't see Brodus and Tensai losing this one. I don't think it will be a squash but the big guys will definitely look dominant in this one which I guess is the right decision. As a tag team I like Rhode Scholars but I'm probably one of the few that wishes they broke up. Not so much because they weren't good or aren't a good edition to the tag team division but I see both guys ultimately as singles stars, especially Sandow, that guy's got some serious potential and with the right push he could do good things on his own.

Brodus and Tensai have been on a roll ever since they formed their tag team, but for the life of me I still cannot see them beating Sandow and Rhodes even if they are reuniting for one night only on pay-per-view. Sandow and Rhodes are two guys on the rise and even in tag team action, it wouldn't look good on the both of them if they lost to two guys who will never make it as main eventers in the company. I think the Scholars will win here, but they shouldn't make it look so easy, make the team of Brodus and Tensai look dominant in the match and at the end, double-team Brodus and throw him out of the ring or hit him with chairs or something, then double-team Tensai and hit him with a pair of their signature moves or hit him with chairs before they pin him for the win. They'll lose but they'll look dominant. I don't think one loss to two superior singles stars will hurt Brodus and Tensai either, they'll get sympathy from the crowd and as long as they continue to dance for them, they'll still be over at the end of the day.

I don't get at all why they broke up Sandow and Rhodes. Seems that the WWE also is confused as to why they did it since they threw them right back together.

I have no problem with them teaming of course because they are totally great television and feed off of each other great.

I also enjoy the Tensai, Funkasaurus team. There is no reason for them not to be together as neither one of them is doing much right now.

I seems odd that they clearly want to push Rhodes and Sandow as individuals and that they are just going to turn around and feed them to the big guys, which has to be what happens. This makes no sense at all to have Tensai and Brodus lose ... so they go over ... I just am curious if they make it a squash. I hope they don't, but at the same time, they need to do something to pump up the big guys.

So, most importantly ... this match does have some intrigue at least.

I don't see Brodus and Tensai losing this one.

I don't either, but this match isn't worthy of PPV status. There's no title at stake at neither team seems to be headed for anything great.

If plans were being made for the Rhodes Scholars, the company wouldn't have broken them up, right? Meanwhile, if the purpose of this match is to boost the stock of the Funk-a-whatdoyacallits, that's fine but I still don't recall too many comedy teams that wound up making much of an impact in pro wrestling, at least for very long. This match is filler.

Still, even though Tensai is probably happy to be included in a PPV, I wonder what he thinks of the idea of having to turn clown to get there, after having started with a fierce Japanese persona that the company saw as dynamic and seeing it go nowhere. My stomach sinks when I see him smile.:icon_confused:

Just wondering.

The Sandow/Rhodes breakup/reunion was done solely to push their "reunion" and their build in to Wrestlemania.

I have to believe Rhodes Scholars wil win at EC and then brag on Raw how they have had the most successful reunion in the history of the WWE, only to pave the way for the New Age Outlaws to reunite, come back, and smack 'em around at 'Mania....

Why break the fricken team up and say they are going solo and then all of a sudden the rhodes scholars are now back together again complete waste of time imo as they break up then reunite against the new age outlaws on a house show and now they reunite again far a match that won't even last 5 minutes utter waste of splitting them up if they are just going to put them back together every week

Easy pick on this one... Brodus and Tensai get the win. This will give them a credible win over a solid team. TRS was a good team, but clearly the WWE did not want to invest in them long term. There would be no point in putting them back together for one night and then having them beat a team that is becoming popular and is on the rise. I think it will be a fun match, but I expect a decisive win for the big guys.

I'm probably jumping the gun here, but it seems like WWE is trying to build another Bryan and Kane odd couple tag team. Tensai DESPERATELY needed the boost, and pairing him with Brodus did the trick. A lot of us were unsure about Bryan and Kane at first, but they became one of the hottest act in WWE, and together they produced some great segments.

Anyway, Tensai and Brodus should pick up the win here, and they could gain some momentum towards a future shot at the tag titles. Rhodes and Sandow had potential as a team, but WWE never pulled the trigger on them, and their "moment" passed a long time ago.

Every member of this match has facial hair, I approve.

Rhodes Scholars should have stayed broken up, though. Tensai & Clay is a neat team though, and both guys could REALLY use the boost. Maybe they can catch lightning in a bottle twice with an odd couple tag team?

I'm not really that interested in this match so I'm glad that it will be the pre-show event. The team of Brodus and Tensai haven't really won me over as a fan yet although I will give them a chance. It's better than Brodus not having anything to do, and as for Tensai? I'll try to tolerate his involvement for that same reason, this is giving Brodus something to do. Now.... If Rhodes Scholars were really going to split then why bring them back together so soon, and why for a match that won't be on PPV? That seems like a waste of what could have been a decent reunion.

The match won't be anything spectacular but it won't be the worst of the night either. Brodus & Tenasi should pick up the win since they are the team that will actually be seeing a tag team push, as opposed to Rhodes Scholars who have gone their separate ways only to randomly team up again. I like Rhodes Scholars better as a team than Brodus & Tensai, however they don't need the win here.

DAGGER'S PREDICTION
Brodus & Tenasi will defeat Rhodes Scholars.

This match is somewhat of a joke, but still hilarious in my eyes. Brodus Clay and Tensai have to be one of the weirder tag teams I've seen recently.

I like how they blow up Team Rhodes Scholars as though they had some sort of tenure in the E. I prefer Sandow 10x's over Rhodes, especially since he now has grown a 70's-pornstar-esque mustache, which is laughable.

In a battle of two tag teams who don't really matter...Clay/Tensai easily get the win here. They are up and coming...for some reason  I kind of get a kick out of them. They are clearly done trying to build Tensai into some sort of "monster" and he is going to entertaining route. This more than nails it:

I wish they never actually create "Team Rhodescholars" in the first place. I am a huge fan of Cody Rhodes, and Damien Sandow, but I don't want WWE to waste their times in the Tag Team division. Plus how much times had Cody Rhodes been in and out of the tag team division? Its about time Rhodes needs a World Title Storyline, maybe MITB, and Sandow needs to be build more. Damien Sandow is one of the greatest talkers and talent that the WWE has. Let him have singles feuds other then boring tag team feuds, because the tag team division have been oh so well for the last 4 years -_-

Brodus and Tensai aint bad but I dont see why they had someone who beat John Cena and CM Punk in the same months, job to someone like Justin Gabriel, Miz, etc..
I'm liking how though WWE is building the feud between Miz and Cesaro though, wish they would have their feud continue through Wrestlemania and end at Extreme Rules, Cesaro needs a Wrestlemania moment, but lets have Miz win the U.S title at Wrestlemania to remain his Undefeated streak, and Cesaro beat him again at Extreme Rules, Then Miz having his rematch clause on RAW, then moving on to the Big Picture, then also have Cesaro lose it somewhere in May or June.

Well I haven't seen the team of Tensai and Brodus Clay, but I don't have big hopes for them... On the other hand, TRS "reuniting" is quite exciting, even though thet will probably job to the fat team.

Not at all an exciting match, and the win goes for the fatty funks.

Team Fat Camp will win, mostly because they're newly-formed and because The Rhodes Scholars have already dissolved. This tandem doesn't bother me much because neither guy was doing much in singles action and the tag division needs some tag teams.

Fat Camp over Rhodes Scholars

Mark Madden called Brodus and Tensai Team future endeavoured, I think that could be on the money. They will win though and do their post match dance.
