I originally thought this would be a good idea for a match. But then I started to think about the actual match itself and I very much doubt it would work very well. You have too much time between each chamber opening (5 minutes) and when we get into the handicap efforts you are realistically near going to brutalise the lone superstar in a two on one effort. Also what if a superstar was to be eliminated within the first five minutes and then out comes a memeber of the same team? they would be standing there and waiting another 5 minutes before an opposing team member came into the match. Obviously the WWE could work around it and fit it into something that works, but then there is no unpredictability throughout the match and I think it would end up as one of those 'are you serious' items on youtube. A tornado tag or something similar would be my preference considering you need John Cena, Sheamus and Ryback to put the Shield 'out' before The Rock/CM Punk match later in the evening and considering that Ryback has already been involved in a six man tag TLC match against the Shield they need something more than a basic six man tag for the story to progress.

Technically you are correct about both world titles never being defended in one on one matches at the Elimination Chamber PPV, but at No Way Out 2008, the WWE Title and World Title matches were both one on one, and the two chamber matches were for number one contendership at WrestleMania. By the by, in my opinion they were two of the best Chamber matches ever, and they made for an excellent PPV!

As for the idea of a Six Man Tag Elimination Chamber with Cena, Sheamus and Ryback v The Shield, yea, this is a great idea. The idea has been discussed on here for quite some time, and i think it will work well, as long as The Shield are not made to look like complete jobbers. The faces have to go over since Cena is main eventing Mania, and Ryback needs some kind of revenge. I just hope it is competetive. I guess the match will work like War Games used to, with a coin toss before the match to see who will get the advantage for the first and third five minute periods. I am looking forward to this, and i hope it is as good as TLC, but that will take some doing.

I think it is also worth discussing what happens after the match. Cena is sorted for Mania, but what about Ryback and Sheamus, and of course The Shield? Are WWE going to break them up already? I wouldn't mind The Shield challenging Bryan and Kane at WrestleMania for the Tag Titles...could be like Freebird or Demolition rules where you don't know which two will be in the match...could also be a handicap match i guess. Time will tell.

Also what if a superstar was to be eliminated within the first five minutes and then out comes a memeber of the same team? they would be standing there and waiting another 5 minutes before an opposing team member came into the match.

The answer is simple...make it a one fall match where pins and submissions do not count until all six men are in the match. The handicap thing will work well for the heels, and make the faces look good for the big comeback. Wrestling 101 dude.

Just look at some old War Game matches for inspiration on how it could work.

Well i am sure the bookers wouldn't let that happen and if if so that would make some good drama. Wouldn't it? Maybe Ryback and Sheamus are all eliminated by the SHIELD then Cena is the last one to enter. Does his Super Cena ... only to loose. Yeah that would be cool :)

It will definitely be a Chamber match. The falls count after all 6 are in the Chamber make the most sense. I would have the match start with Ryback and Reins. And then you have the Shield get the advantage on every opening. Ambrose is 1st, then Sheamus, then Rollins, and then Cena. The end comes when Ambrose pins Sheamus to keep the heel faction going. You can't have Cena get pinned with him main-eventing Mania, Ryback getting pinned wouldn't look good either, so that leaves Sheamus as the sacrificial lamb. I would have their leader revealed after the match as well and it would be none other than John Laurinitis. This would get major heat with the audience and thus keep the Shield's momentum going.

It’s about time!! This is my Son’s favorite match type in WWE 12 and WWE 13. I actually just told him a few weeks ago that it’s not a match type they used for TV, it’s only for the video games. HAHA!! If this is indeed the case and the match does get booked as the Shield vs. the Justice League of Avengers, then I hope they do it right. The question now is the order of entry into the match.

Looks like The Shield's dominance stops here, Super Cena and friends are going to wipe the floor with them and they fade into obscurity. Summerslam 2010 with Nexus all over again. I doubt otherwise as Super Cena is involved here, absolutely ridiculous that he has to put his burying touch to every promising guys.

Seriously one of the dumbest, most marked out comments I've ever seen on here. The Shield has been doing the same shit for months now and there needs to be some kind of payoff. It's not like they didn't win their damn TLC match against Ryback and THN. This is a perfect solution because they won't be able to run away this time when the odds are actually fair. Not to mention, I guarantee you Shield looks strong the entire match, assuming it does happen of course, which is very likely.

My only thing with this is that would mean Sheamus wouldn't be in the WHC EC match. I wonder who he feuds with heading into WM29.

I want to see this match. Be interesting to see another type of match inside the EC. The order of entry should be cool to see. We will get to see what The Shield can do against WWE's best. I am looking forward to this ppv more and more. I agree to that there needs to be a payoff with The Shield and this would be the perfect time for it.

With both Henry and Swagger returning for the chance to be entered into the elimination chamber match and Christian returning the past 2 years at the elimination chamber pay per view I think Christian's going to be the last participant in the elimination chamber match either at the ppv itself or RAW or Smackdown similar to both Henry and Swagger's returns. What do you guys think?

I made a video discussing this actually

I went to last year's Elimination Chamber event. It was awful. It wasn't a good event, but hey it's a PPV. Looking back, I wouldn't change my mind that this year's EC PPV is already a much improved event than last years. Not a huge fan of the EC PPV mainly because it sits right in between my 2 favorite PPV's; the Royal Rumble, and Wrestlemania. Only 1 actual EC match is on this card which surprises me honestly. I'd think at least 2 wouldn't be too much but there's alot other feuds/storylines going on right now that only 1 EC match is needed. Anyways, I think this should be a solid PPV. I plan on getting it and hopefully get my money's worth. Solid overall card.

hey.i just wanted to stop by the Forum because i have an idea on how to do damage control after the train wreck that happened at the Royal Rumble PPV.at the WWE Elimination Chamber PPV,in the match between John Cena Sheamus and Ryback vs. The Shield..i think that The Shield should win the match to keep their push heading into WrestleMania.also,in the WWE Championship match between The Rock vs. CM Punk..i think that CM Punk should win the match and become the WWE Champion heading into WrestleMania.at WrestleMania, before the WWE Championship match..The Shield is to attack John Cena backstage and knock him out of the WWE Championship match leaving an open challenge against CM Punk.during the WWE Championship match,CM Punk will come out and do a promo that he is the Best In The World and issue an open challenge to anyone in the back to face him.out comes Ryback and he goes into the ring just outright manhandles CM Punk and hits the Shell Shock and defeats CM Punk and becomes the WWE Championship and finally avenges him.so,what does everyone think about this damage control after the disaster that happened at the Royal Rumble?

The Shield vs. Ryback, Cena & Sheamus

Shame it isn't a Chamber 6-man match. The fact it isn't suggests to me that The Shield will win. They wouldn't reasonably be able to overcome the odds against those opponents in a Chamber match and logically it wouldn't work either.

Del Rio vs. Big Show

Del Rio will win. The only question is whether Ziggler is involved in any capacity.

The Miz vs. Cesaro

Another mid card title victory is just another step back for The Miz. Wouldn't be surprised if he won though. Not like the outcome matters either way.

Kaitlyn vs. Tamina

Because of the champion and the lack of challengers I'm optimistic there won't be a Diva's match at Mania this year.

Punk vs. The Rock

Rock rematches are a waste. He's not going to lose the title before Mania so this is another match with a predictable outcome.

Henry vs. Y2J vs. Orton vs. Swagger vs. Kane vs. Bryan

Honestly don't know who will win. Intriguing match. Only problem being that whoever wins they're still going to be involved in a makeshift match at Mania. Del Rio, Big Show or Ziggler against any of those opponents is opening match only.

WWE Elimination Chamber

February 17, 2013

New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans Arena

1. Alberto Del Rio vs. The Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship - Overall, a pretty good match from these two. I was surprised they started the show off with the WHC as I figured that Cesaro vs. Miz would kick things off. The live crowd was hot for the match and the two put out a good effort. There were some shenanigans from Ricardo but they didn't get out of hand to the point that they impacted the match. There were a couple of blown spots, such as the stuff that went on with the bucket, but there were more than enough good sequences & physical action to counter it. Del Rio countering the powerbomb attempt into a hurricanrana was nice. It's not often that Show goes for a powerbomb and even less often that someone of Show's size takes a hurricanrana. There were some good near falls during the match, such as Del Rio initially putting Show in the Cross Armbreaker. Show powered out of it with a modified powerbomb, so a nice display of strength and a good dramatic moment for the crowd. Late in the match, after the bucket fiasco, Del Rio successfully applies the Cross Armbreaker once more to Show. Show fights the move and sells its effects for a while before eventually tapping. I was surprised to see Del Rio get a submission victory over Big Show. WWE wants to keep Del Rio looking strong, so making Big Show tap was a good way of doing that. Del Rio retains via submission a little past the 13 minute mark. **3/4

2. Antonio Cesaro vs. The Miz for the WWE United States Championship - Meh, I was pretty disappointed with this match. To me, it just never really found a good rhythm. For the most part, there wasn't really anything wrong with the match. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good either. It was just kind of there. I thought the ending was a little different with Cesaro claiming Miz nailed him with a shot to the crotch, but that just means they're going to continue this feud. Cesaro wins via DQ at the 8 minute mark, which means they'll probably go onto WrestleMania for a rematch where Miz will probably score the win & capture the title. *1/2

Jack Swagger & Zeb Coulter - I'm really enjoying Coulter, AKA Dirty Dutch Mantel, as Jack Swagger's mouthpiece. He's really convincing in his character and even though he's a southerner spouting this stuff, he doesn't come off like some bigoted redneck with no clue as to what he's saying. His promos are gaining more and more heat each time and the Louisiana crowd was eating it up. Swagger is doing just fine in my eyes with his more intense personality. Coulter is much better on the mic, so it's a good package overall. Thumbs Up

3. Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Kane vs. Jack Swagger vs. Mark Henry in an Elimination Chamber match - Excellent match. Just flat out excellent. The match was nonstop, physical looking action from bell to bell. Bryan & Jericho started things off in the match and worked great back & forth for four minutes until Jack Swagger came out. Swagger looked good going against Bryan & Jericho, getting in a lot of strong offense and worked well with the veterans. Kane comes in next and mixes it up well with Daniel Bryan. I like that they haven't portrayed Bryan as being afraid of Kane, thereby being weaker, and Bryan holds his own with Kane throughout their time in the match. As Jericho & Swagger were momentarily taken out, Bryan & Kane put on a good one on one match until Randy Orton's pod opened up about the 12.5 minute mark. Orton did his thing & dominated for a while by going after anybody. Orton started with Kane, nailing a nice middle rope DDT onto the steel railing of the Chamber. Orton sold the effects of this as well before moving to going after Swagger. This led to a fun spot in the match where Orton superplexes Swagger & Jericho superplexes Bryan simultaneously, causing everyone to meet in the middle. As everyone is recovering, Mark Henry's chamber opens and he goes all dominant. Henry first sets his sights on Daniel Bryan and delivers the World's Strongest Slam, successfully eliminating Bryan at the 16.5 minute mark. Henry then mixes it up with Kane for a bit. Kane gets the upper hand before going to the top. He jumps off but Henry counters and turns things around, hitting the WSS on Kane and eliminating him at the 18.5 minute mark. Henry continued to dominate for a while and, eventually, all three men worked against a common enemy. Henry gets eliminated at the 23.5 minute mark after taking a kick to the face from Swagger, the Codebreaker from Jericho & the RKO from Orton. It protected Henry well as he'd decimated everyone else in a one on one situation. Then it was down to Jericho, Swagger & Orton. They put on a great triple threat effort that, again, was physical & nonstop. Late in the match, with Swagger out of the picture for a bit, Jericho attempts a Lionsault on Orton, but Orton blocks, coming up with the RKO and eliminating Jericho. Swagger immediately comes up from behind and rolls Orton up for the clean win. Jack Swagger wins the Elimination Chamber at the 31.5 minute mark and will face the WHC at WM. I don't think most people thought Swagger had a serious shot since he's just returned. I sensed a feud with Del Rio on the rise after Zeb Coulter's first promo but I never seriously expected it would come about this soon. ****

5. John Cena, Sheamus & Ryback vs. The Shield - Great physical match that got off to a hot start and kept on going throughout. All six guys looked good here and worked well together. It wasn't as good as the EC match, though I don't think it could really be expected to given that it was a standard six man tag match with no special rules or stipulations. Surprisingly, the star of this match was Roman Reigns as the guy looked awesome out there. Nobody looked weak in the match but I think Reigns has generally been viewed as a "weak link" for The Shield, but he looked like a star in there tonight. The babyfaces worked cohesively together and The Shield is a faction that WWE really has its collective shit together with. The end comes when it looks like the faces have things well in hand. Reigns is out of the picture due to being out there against Sheamus, Cena nails Ambrose with the AA and Ryback sets Rollins up for Shell Shocked. As he's going for it, Reigns comes out of nowhere and nails Ryback with a spear, causing Rollins to fall on top of him. Reigns keeps Cena at bay while Rollins picks up the clean win for The Shield at the 15 minute mark. Another strong performance from The Shield. I was honestly surprised they gave them a clean victory here. I figured that it wasn't going to happen since Cena was in the match. ***1/2

5. Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler - An impromptu & short match. Ziggler initially came out to cut a promo and complained about not being on the show, so Booker T comes out and makes this match. The match was short, only about 4 minutes, but they packed a lot of action into it. There was a lot of energy all around in the match with Kofi & Ziggler all over the place. The end comes after Kofi takes out Big E. Langston on the outside. Coming back into the ring, Ziggler takes control & hits the Zig Zag for the win. The match was unnecessary but good for what it was. Considering that they showed both the EC match & the six man tag back to back, which was a total of about 50 minutes of hot action, a little filler to give everyone a chance to catch their breath probably isn't a bad idea. **

6. Kaitlyn vs. Tamina for the WWE Divas Championship - This was the buffer match for Punk vs. Rock. It wouldn't have bothered me if Kofi vs. Ziggler had been the buffer and this match had been left off the card. The match was okay all in all, nothing bad took place but the match was pure 100% filler. It went about the 3.5 minute mark and ended with Kaitlyn getting the win via the spear. Quick & painless. *1/4

7. The Rock vs. CM Punk for the WWE Championship - I thought this was a better match than they had at the Royal Rumble. I thought the match told a great story and while it was a little slow going in the beginning, I enjoyed the story being told. The added stipulation of Rock getting DQ'd or counted out added a few good, tense moments to the match. Some will despise the match probably but, personally, I thought it was an entertaining effort. I thought WWE ultimately did a better job of protecting Punk here than during the Royal Rumble match. Punk scores with the GTS in the match and has The Rock for a clear three count. Punk also looked resilient as he kicked out of both the Rock Bottom & People's Elbow during the course of the match. Heyman tries to interfere late in the match, causing a distraction. CM Punk tries to hit Rock with the belt but winds up hitting Heyman instead. The Rock delivers another Rock Bottom to Punk for the win at the 21 minute mark. ***1/4

Final Thoughts - A strong show overall. The matches that were expected to deliver, in my opinion, delivered. The two best matches of the night were the Elimination Chamber match and the six man tag match. Del Rio vs. Big Show was honestly better than I was hoping for and it turned out to be a very solid standard 1 on 1 match with Del Rio gaining a very strong submission win over Big Show. The US Championship match was a disappointment as it just never really clicked. Kofi vs. Ziggler was filler, but solid filler. The Divas match felt completely unnecessary. Punk vs. Rock was a strong match, generally better in my eyes than their first encounter. As I said, I thought the WWE did a better job of protecting Punk & making him look strong against The Rock. Jack Swagger winning the EC was a surprise. As he's only returned within the past few weeks, I figured they'd go with Henry to face Del Rio at WrestleMania. The Shield scoring a clean victory in the six man tag match over probably the three top babyfaces in WWE was also a surprise. The Shield continue to impress me and Roman Reigns had a great night. All in all, a strong show.

Grade: B+

Thought I would throw in my review that I published on my Blog: Not a bad show.

Suffice to say this could be a good PPV or a terrible one. The Shield needs to win. They need to do something with them instead of just having them run around attacking people. Also, they have been dominated the past couple weeks. It is make or break time! But my fear is that it Cena heading into WM will be kept strong. Not that he needs this win but this is the WWE and they don't want anything to hinder their golden boy, or seem to anyway. But we will see. Only one Elimination Chamber? Okay....should be good though. Maybe a Mark Henry or Swagger victory. Rio will be put over as they wisely use Show to do just that: Perhaps a Ziggler cash in to set up a WM feud? Smart move. Antonio should win. Rock will too. I was hoping not, as Rock does not need the belt and has done nothing with it the last month. But it is what it is. He does afford them extra exposure even though he does not need it. Yet, it is obvious he will win for the obvious fact that he is facing Cena at WM. It would make zero sense for the Rock to lose, besides I am still an admitted Rock mark in a platonic, only kind of gay way.

Match 1: Big Show v. ADR (c) for WCW Title

I think this is yet another gimmick match.

Rio uses his speed to keep Show at bay, raining blows down on him. However, Show overwhelms him with his power, works him over, and uses the rope to choke him out. Show chops him up, but Rio takes him down. He takes some time to get the crowd on his side. He attempts the Armbreaker, and gets speared instead! Rio is laid out, and Show starts to slowly pick him apart. Ricardo is trying to get his boy up by cheering him on. Rio fires off a couple of shots, but a kick ends that. Show powerslams him but does not attempt a pin. Show slowly pulls him up and Rio uses his legs to take him down and does not even touch him, but Show goes down anyway. Armbreaker! Ricardo tries to pull away the rope from Show's grasping hands. But Show is able to get his foot on it. The ref forces the break. Rio tries to follow up, and he goes up to the middle rope, and leaps right into a bearhug. Show squeezes him for a bit, just drops him. He goes over to Ricardo who has the Mexican flag in some sort of bucket, and Show throws it at his head. Rio attacks. He goes for the lower body, hammering him. Rio seemingly has the upperhand, as they fight it out on the floor. However, back in the ring he is goozled and chokeslammed through the mat. Show covers him but Rio just gets the shoulder up. Show again slowly works him over. I mean SLOWLY. He looms over ADR who again goes for the Armbreaker, and Show tries to fend him off but gets DDT'd. A woozy Show is in the corner, and Rio strikes with a running kick to the skull. Two count. Armbreaker! Show rolls him over, hoists him up, and slams him down. Both men are down and the ref is counting. Show is up; he kicks Ricardo off the apron. He has the bucket again, and Rio misses an enzuguri, trying to kick the bucket into Show's face. Show still stands there! JESUS. The second one connects and this time the Armbreaker forces Show to tap.

**1/2 Missed spots and slow. Okay at best. Let's move this shit on, and have ADR feud with someone else, anyone else.

So I guess no Ziggler. Why did they give him the case again?

Match 2: Antonio Caesario (c) v. Miz for WCW US Title

So, another quick rant....because I can. There is no fucking reason to keep jobbing out your secondary title holders to the top guys. There are plenty of guys who can do that. It makes their hopefully eventual rise to the top that much more difficult. Also, it makes the belts look weak. And it is just stupid. Also it pisses me off that Miz came out second.

Justin Roberts interviews some celebrities really quick. Oh and they Tweeted about the event too! WHO CARES....sorry.

Miz has shoulder taped up. Miz starts strong, keeps the shoulder away from Caesario, slides under the ropes after being on the apron, rolls him up for two. Antonio finally gets to the shoulder but is kneed and then again, this time into the corner. Miz charges right into a blow. Miz is picked up and crushed with a shoulder-breaker. Caesario grins as he stomps on the shoulder. Miz kicks back but Caesario is relentless as he hones in on the shoulder. He hooks it into a submission hold. Antonio releases the hold, hammers on the shoulder some more and then reapplies it. Some clapping to get the Miz up, but he is knocked right back down. Antonio gets two after a forearm shiver. Antonio stomps the shit out of him, pulls him over to the apron and yanks his arm down across it. Two count. Back to the armbar. Miz is up and now he tees off on Antonio, strikes with the running clothesline in the corner. But Antonio drops him, back to the armbar. Miz finally rolls him over, and gets two. Antonio charges at him, only to be tossed over the top rope. Miz is on the apron, and he leaps right into the waiting arms of Caesario. Antonio has him up and is going to ram his shoulder into the post, but Miz slips free and shoves him into the post. It was the knee that clanged off. They are back in the ring, and Miz now hones in on the knee. Miz slams him down, gets two, goes right back dor the knee but is kicked. Miz though swipes the leg and knees it over and over. Miz tries to for the Figure Four. I am not sure if he knows how to apply it. He looks a bit confused. Antonio kicks him off, and Miz lands on his nuts or hits them. DQ....Are you FUCKING serious?

** Shitty ending. You can end any match this way. And of course the heel cannot fucking win cleanly.

Miz kicks him in the nuts....

Bryan and Kane are bickering. Bryan should be the one upset as he was eliminated at the Rumble after Kane was. Kane calls him one of the 7 Dwarves. Also, Kane has never competed in the main event at WM and this is his one chance. Bryan agrees, but they should have each other's backs until they are the last two. Kane agrees too, and so the plan is that Bryan will have his back and Kane will have his own back! Bryan is left confused. The teased break-up will clearly continue tonight.

Match 3: Elimination Chamber (Winner faces WCW champ)

I would love to see Jericho win of course. Not going to happen, but hey, you never know!

Oh shit we get a month of video packages about the Chamber and what it is built of and shit. I took a dump, cooked dinner and rewiped my ass and still the videos are on.

First out is Jack Swagger. Swagger has the mic and calls Dutch a great man and patriot. Dutch has the mic now and he would not have it any other way or some shit. We are in a den if inequity: New Orleans, on the eve of Presidents Day. He talks about the Louisiana Purchase and how now illegals are crossing in everyday. Also, he was in the mud for a year with Swagger's dad etc. He did not fight for this. Swagger will win one for the good guys. Jesus, Vince loves these characters. My guess it is close to what he believes.

Kane comes out next. Now Mark Henry. Now Orton who is getting a two minute walk down the fucking aisle. Oh Christ, he might win. Bryan and now Jericho. I am not kidding it has been now 16 minutes before we finally get going!

Jericho and Bryan start off: Y2J chants. They lock up, and Jericho whips him off the ropes, dropping him. He holds Bryan down. Bryan is up and they battle back and forth each going for their submission finishers. Jericho is catapulted off Bryan as he went for the Walls. Bryan kicks him over and over in the chest. Jericho is worked over for a bit. They are taking it slow to keep their stamina up....Jericho strikes back with a back suplex. He kicks him onto the apron, hooks him for a suplex back into the ring. The next participant is: Jack Swagger! Swagger goes right for Jericho, planting him and then whipping him into the corner where he sammiches him there. Swagger Bomb and a two count. Swagger takes care of Jericho is wallowing in the corner. Swagger focuses on Bryan, driving knee through his head, crushing it onto the grating. Swagger turns right into a dropkick from Jericho. Jericho hammers him in the corner. He charges at Swagger but misses. He is run into the cage. Swagger tosses Jericho around. Bryan is back in the fray, down goes Swagger. Bryan goes for the diving headbutt but Jericho wisely moves. Bryan is low kicked, and Jericho uses the ropes to choke him out. The next person is: Kane. He throat punches Jericho, whips him into the corner. Then he kicks Swagger, stacks him up on Jericho where he sammiches them. He then whips Bryan into them. Low dropkick on Swagger. Swagger is tossed onto the grating and then Bryan rolls up Kane! Only two. Bryan is trying to beg off; he wants a hug. Kane is shaking his head in anger. He points at the WM sign and now Bryan chants Yes and Kane No. Bryan shoves him in the face, so Kane retaliates with an uppercut. Kane misses in the corner and gets kicked in the head. Bryan kicks him over and over in the chest. Misses a big one, gets goozled, b ut Bryan goes for the Lock. Kane pushes him off, gets two after a sidewalk slam. Kane has him up top. Bryan escapes but Jericho places him on top of his shoulders. Kane wipes out Bryan with a lariat. Swagger is back up and he charges over, tries to pin Bryan but only gets two. Swagger hops right back up, and takes it to Kane who gives it right back. Kane gets the upperhand, drops him and gets a two count. Jericho runs over and kicks Kane. He whips Swagger, drops him with an elbow or something. Here comes Orton! He is cleaning house. Kane manages to hit him a couple times but gets dropkicked off the forearm whiff. Bryan is suplexed off the ropes. Kane goes for a chokeslam, but Orton goes behind and shoves Kane into the cage. He takes out Bryan again and then heads out after Kane. Kane is thrust into the chains over and over. He goes for the rope DDT and connects onto the grating. Randy sells that he too is hurt. Bryan starts to work over Jericho. Orton heads over to a still struggling Swagger. He runs him into the pod as Jericho fires off some bodyshots on Bryan. Swagger is placed up top with Orton heading up after him. Bryan is up top too with Jericho hooking him. Swagger is superplexed off and now Bryan is too! But everyone is down now. Orton has been hit once or twice....Still down though! Henry is waiting impatiently to get into the ring. Everyone is still down. Still down. Here comes Henry and yet everyone is still fucking down. They slowly get up as Henry comes in to wreak some havoc. He mows people down, and World Slams Bryan finishing him off. Poor Bryan. Henry stalks Orton who for some reason is struggling after being hit twice. Orton is tossed through the pod! YEAH! Kane is vertical now and he and Henry exchange clubbing blows. Kane hits him a couple times in row. Henry shoves him into the corner but misses the charge. Two sammiches in the corner by Kane. Kane is up top and he leaps right into the arms of Henry. Strongest Slam ends him too! Henry goes for Jericho. He hits him on the back before tossing him over the ropes onto the grating. Henry heads after him, knees him in the jaw, and goes to run him into the steel but Jericho slips free, and he shoves Henry into the steel post. Swagger and Jericho team up to take care of the big man. They suplex him onto the grating. Bodies are strewn everywhere. Jericho and Swagger are up and Jericho clotheslines him over the top, back into the ring. Jericho heads up, crashes into him getting a near fall. Swagger is sent into the corner, but gets his boot up. Jericho staggers back, and Swagger goes for a gutwrench but is taken down. Jericho goes for the Walls but is kicked off. Jericho comes right back, striking with a bulldog. Jericho heads to the corner where he is grabbed by Henry and decimated as Henry throws him into the chain. He picks up Jericho and throws him into Swagger. He clobbers both men. He heads up to the second rope but misses the Vader Bomb. Swagger is fended off, but the Code Breaker connects. Henry turns right into the RKO and Orton gets the pin. I was beginning to dig Henry too. Oh well. He leaves but decides to comeback. He Strongest Slams everyone! Refs try to get him to leave. He doesn't Booker T comes down, waves him off. Henry slowly departs the ring. Booker is pointing towards the back and Henry is obliging. Swagger is up, covers Orton but only gets two. Jericho and Orton team up, and run his ass into the post. They don't follow up though and decide to tear into each other. Jericho hammers him. He gets sent over the top rope but lands on his feet. Jericho runs up top and leaps into a dropkick. Two count. Swagger runs in, right into a powerslam. Jericho is powerslammed too. Jericho though spring kicks him, covers Orton but he gets the shoulder up. Swagger pounces on Jericho. Belly to belly but he gets two. Swagger runs over, goes for the Bomb but Orton gets his foot up, however, Swagger stops himself and applies the Lock! For some reason Jericho breaks it up. Now Jericho is in it. But he manages to turn it into the Walls. Orton comes over and takes down Jericho. He gets two. Swagger runs at Orton but is tossed over the top rope. Orton has both men hooked for the Rope DDT and connects with it. Fans are fired up! Orton goes for the RKO but Jericho knocks him back and down. Lionsault right onto some knees! RKO and done! But Swagger rolls up Orton for the win!!

****1/2 Oh man I really liked this.

Orton is a sad bear.

Match 3: Team Superfriends v. Shield

Announcers gush over Cena, how he deserves to come out first. I vomited.

Shield comes out, and no times is wasted: The fight is on. Shield is dominated. All three get vertically suplexed. Sheamus starts off. I don't have the names down yet for the Shield, but he just stands there, staring at Cena and Ryback. He turns right into a clothesline courtesy of Sheamus. WWE is trending on Twitter! It is Dean Ambrose who is in: Sheamus shoves him into the corner where he hammers him. Ambrose turns it around, hits Sheamus a few times. Sheamus comes right back, knees him in the face, and then tosses him to the apron. Ambrose hung onto the ropes but he gets his chest clobbered for his efforts. Sheamus rips off the vest and clobbers him some more. Ten times. An eleventh for good measure. Seth Rollins is decked too. Ambrose is rolled back in. Sheamus and Reigns have a staredown and this allows Ambrose to nail Sheamus. Roman gets the tag and he unloads on Sheamus. They do some quick tags as they pick apart Sheamus. Seth runs him down getting a two count. He keeps Sheamus grounded. Sheamus is battered in the corner by all three members. Sheamus battles out. Here comes Cena and the three moves of doom. Cena is taking out everyone. He has the STF applied. Cena is jumped on. Dueling chants as Cena is punished. He is worked over in the corner. He tries to comeback but overwhelmed. He is crushed in the corner with Rollins barely connecting. Seth loves the chants. Now Ambrose is in and he continues to punish Cena. Roman drops him getting two. He keeps Cena grounded. Cena is held down for an hour, but finally powers up and slams down Roman. Cena struggles to his feet but turns right into a lariat. Roman gets two. Again he keeps Cena grounded after some stomps. Cena is up again. But Ambrose takes him out. He gets a near fall. Ambrose delays and gets tossed over the top rope after the charge. Fans are chanting: Feed Me More. Cena makes the tag and Ryback cleans house. He is throwing bodies around with alacrity. They are tossed to the floor and the bodies are stacking up. They are on the floor and Roman spears Sheamus through the barrier, killing him. However, the Shield comes back with Rollins heading up top where he leaps right into the waiting arms of Ryback. But Ambrose pounces and the rest of the Shield are in. They are about to triple up on Ryback but Roman or one of them, I cannot see, is yanked out to the floor by Cena. Cena decks Rollins. He runs into the ring and gives Ambrose an AA. Ryback has one up. Fuck is that Rollins or Rains. Oh well. Anyway Ryback is speared. I mean destroyed! He is pinned and the Shield win!

***1/2 NICE! So much for Ryback's push. He is not great in the ring by any stretch but he was more over tonight than either Sheamus or Cena. Not sure why Sheamus is getting such a big push. He is annoying. Oh he is friends with HHH.

Cena is a sad bear.

Ziggler is in the ring complaining. Booker T comes out saying he is wasting everyone's time. Booker is setting up a match and it is Kofi.

Match 4: Dolph Ziggler v. Kofi Kingston

Back and forth. Ziggler applies a sleeper. I missed a little of the match. Nothing great that I saw but not bad: Anyway, Zigs has a sleeper applied. Kofi takes him to the ropes, dumps him over. He then dives into Big E. This upsets him. AJ gets involved. Dolph nearly hits her and then turns right into Trouble in Paradise. Kofi covers, but Big E pulls Dolph to safety. Kofi leaps onto them. Back in the ring, Kofi flies into Dolph getting a near fall. Kofi goes up top but Dolph runs up top and hangs him out to dry on the top buckle! Damn! Kofi topples and Dolph finishes him off.

**1/2

Divas Match: I think Kaitlyn won. Short match.

Match 6: Punk v. Rock (c) for WWE Title

Punk has the title.

He is just standing there with the title. No Rock yet. More delays. Now the Rock comes out. The response is not as big as I thought it would be. Still a decent pop but I am sure some fans are not buying as to why Rock is champ. It is a WWE cash-in. I am not down on him being champ as I am a Rock mark. If it was Trips I would be bitching! Sounds like some Rocky sucks chants.

The bell rings: They circle around one another, a feeling out process. Males are chanting for Punk. Punk takes him down and then yells out at the crowd. They lock back up, and Punk applies a headlock. Rock pushes him off only to get run over. Back to square one. And back to the headlock. Rock is pushed down, but he comes back with some armdrags. Punk retreats to the floor in order to regroup. Punk gets back into the ring and they start jawing with each other. Punk slaps him, and Rock tees off. Ref keeps pushing Rock back warning him (If Rock gets DQ'd or Counted Out then he loses the title). Punk spits on him! Rock is twitching. Rock clotheslines him, and then tosses him to the floor. Rock goes right after him, flinging him into the barrier and following up with a clothesline. Lawler keeps crying for Rock to calm down. Dude, it is fine, he is not doing anything to get disqualified. Punk is run into the announce table. Punk though rakes the eyes, gets back into the ring and greets Rock with a clothesline. He takes him down again and he gets a two count. Rock is held down in a chinlock. He attempts to get up but is driven down again. Punk releases the hold, drops a few forearms, gets two. Back to the chinlock. Rock fights to his feet and of course Lawler has to take a jab at ECW, um your wrestling company was rather crappy too. Punk runs down the Rock, follows up with a snap suplex and gets a two count. Back to the chinlock. And again the Rock rises up, and Rock unloads some big rights. Punk is whipped into the corner but gets his feet up off the whip. Rock is rocked backwards, and Punk runs up top and gets a near fall after a lariat. And once again we are back to the chinlock. And yet again Rock is grounded. And again Rock is up. Rock unloads on him in the corner. Ref pulls him off, and Punk strikes with a running blow. He measure the Rock, and crushes him with a running knee. Macho Man time! He connects, but Rock just gets the shoulder up. Punk dumps him to the floor. Time to dismantle the Spanish announce table. He takes too long, and Rock takes his head and rams down onto the table a few times. He rolls Punk back into the ring. He goes for the Rock Bottom but Punk spins free, and kicks him in the skull. Two count. Punk pulls him up, and once again dumps him unceremoniously to the floor. Punk has Rock up on the announce table and Rock Bottoms him through the table! Punk rolls back into the ring, and the ref is counting. Rock is struggling and at nine gets back in the ring. Why not just kick him back? Oh it is not real! Anyway, Rock gets stomped. Rock blows a kiss, I think at the Rock's family. Punk charges and is tossed. Both men are down. Ref is counting. Ref is at six. One move and Punk is dead. We are at nine. Punk is up and now the Rock is up. Punk turns into a heavy right, getting his jaw jacked! They exchange blows, smacking each other with haymakers. Rock goes into the ropes, and leaps into Punk. DDT! Rock waits for Punk to get up, and when he does, Rock goes for the Rock Bottom. However, Punk elbows him over and over, driving the Rock down. Punk is slow moving too. Punk springs at the Rock, and right into a Rock Bottom!! But Punk just gets the shoulder up! Punk retreats to the floor, but Rock is in pursuit. Back in the ring, and Paul has the ref distracted but the ref gets bumped! GTS! But no ref. Punk has a 400 count and there are a lot of boos. Ref is still dead. Now the second official slowly heads to the ring. Rock extricates himself from the GTS, countering with a spinebuster. People's Elbow! Now the ref runs in, but only counts two. Both men are moving slow. Punk rolls up onto the ref's ankle and he topples to the floor. Punk clocks Rock. Heyman hands Punk the belt. Not sure why you would cheat here....Heyman is holding the Rock. Punk takes a year to swing the belt and when he does, Rock moves, and Paul is knocked out! Rock Bottom, but no ref. He finally comes in and makes the count. Rock wins.

**** Predictable but fun. Probably not worth four stars but fuck it. I enjoyed it.

**** I cannot complain about the booking. Hear that folks, I cannot bitch! Sure, I would love Punk to win but it would make no sense and even a dumbass like myself can acknowledge that. It was a tad overbooked but whatever. Swagger and Shield win. ADR won. The Miz v. Antonio match was the one blot. The terrible ending. I get they want to have them face off at WM. So have the heel win, not by DQ and then have the Miz garner some revenge at WM. Overall, if the WWE put more effort into their shows. If they let the wrestlers just wrestle. If they did not script such shitty promos, and made the faces a bit more human, as well as not having such long ass promos, along with stupid ass comedy then the WWE would be awesome. Then again, I have said this before, I am not the target audience anymore. My time has come and gone and I need to either suck it up or not watch. At least I have the PPV's and flashes of brilliance here and there. I still need to watch SD. Just don't have the time....

It was a very good PPV. I thought Del Rio/ Big show was average but I guessed as much so wasn't disappointed. The ending for the Miz and Cesaro was superb. Very different and shows the WWE are capable of something creative when they want. The match itself was good: both guys worked well together.

The elimination chamber match was incredible. Just a superb match and it was very good how they sold the importance of mania. Kane before the match and throughout underlining his desire to be in a WM main event, Orton pointing at the sign before an RKO. Loved it. (smallest things do so much). The ending was also terrific - it all happened so quickly and a part of me is glad Swagger won.

The Shield v Cena, Ryback, Sheamus was another very good match. I loved the ending, I loved each member of the Shield and love how the faction and Cena still look good. Also, Ryback being pinned will obviously lead to something else. Sheamus did nothing throughout and could have been pinned but they are planning for Mania.

It was nice to see Ziggler get a match but thought it would be something better than Kingston. Was Christian not available? Mysterio?

To be honest, I thought that The Rock/Punk match was a bit boring. It was ok but didn't even come close to the matches we saw previously. For some reason, I thought there was a small chance Punk would win - the stipulation got my hopes up. Not that I am apposed to Rock as champ; just I wanted to see a triple threat at Mania.

Overall, I was entertained and it did its job - leading into Mania. I am already looking forward to the build between Swagger/Del Rio and obviously Cena/Rock. However, the best thing about this PPV - JBL. Once more he was incredible on commentary and deserves a mention.

Not seen a WWE PPV in a long time. But I did watch Royal Rumble and EC...

If I'm honest, both were incredibly and dissapointingly average.

In both cases the gimmick match was strong, The Rumble was entertaining, and the EC match was really good. Everything else was average at best, matches that would be acceptable on Smackdown or Raw. Not maine event quality at all.

SWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH

Was I only the one worried the crowd was gonna start cheering coulter's promo? Uhh, your in the deep south here boys, and he didnt really say anything that wasnt correct....

Pretty whack overall. Who the fuck was the visionary that made the decision to not have The All Stars Vs The Shield in the EC, War Games style? To instead, give us a less cool version of the match and storyline we just saw in December? and what the bloody MOTHERFUCK was going on with that finish?? John Cena, what on EARTH was going through your mind there??? lulz. Someone fucked the timing of that finish up horrifically. Either Cena, Reigns, or Ryback. If its one of the greenhorns, then Cena needs to make the call that "hey, this is going to look really fucking dumb" and break up the pinfall, and redo that section of the match.

Punk - Rock was very underwelming. The WWE is so fond of these droll, paint by numbers matches that the crowd has paint by numbers reactions. A little during the entrances, then sit around and wait for the go-home sequence. Nothing like seeing people in the front row yawning and looking at their phones during your main event.

Not sure what I think of Del Rio and Swagger. At best, its a poor mans Triple H - Booker T at WM19. At worst, its two guys who arent really very over fighting in a title match at WM. typical skitzophrenic WWE booking. "Hey this guy went 0 - 278 in 2012, but he has won three matches in 2013, he is in the WM main event!!"...Right.

Very underwhelming PPV. I fell asleep just before the Shield vs. WWE All-Stars match.

Personally, I'm a fan of Jack Swagger so his win was the highlight of the night for me. I'm quite surprised that the WWE did the right thing in allowing the Shield to get a win over Cena, Ryback, and Sheamus. Not only am I surprised but I'm happy about it. They finally realized that The Shield was the only group that could have benefited from a win. Now they're really viewed as being strong.

(Countdown until they lose their first match and the IWC cries that they're being "buried." But I digress.)

I give it a B. Wasn't the best PPV I've bought recently, but I wasn't pissed off that I did. I could have done without the pointless Kingston/Ziggler matchup but I was pretty entertained by the rest of the card.

I didn't order it, so I can't really vote. But I was surprised Swagger won the EC. And I was also surprised Ziggler did nothing with the briefcase.

Del Rio vs Swagger for the WHC just screams midcard to me. Nothing about it has a main event feel. Which I guess doesn't matter when Rock/Cena are going to headline the show anyways. But I'd prefer a more compelling angle than what racist story we're likely going to get.

Inserting one of Y2J or Orton into the WHC picture would take it up a level, and give some prominence back to the WHC instead of it literally being the new IC / upper midcard championship.

B for me. It was a great match, I liked it but I don't know. It missed something to make it incredible but the surprise for me was Swagger. I didn't watched his matches since his return but damn, he was impressive in the chamber

It was a horrible PPV and is the reason TNA looks so good. Bbecause WWE dosent even try anymore.

The only good match was the EC match. But that was also horrible compared to the older EC matches with goldberd, RVD, HBK ect.

WWE sucks

And now that styles is away. TNA sucks now too.

If they could have had one more match in the Elimination Chamber, I would have been happier, otherwise I liked it. Jack Swagger winning was a surprise (not a bad surprise). I think his championship match will be one of the earlier matches at Wrestlemania, definitely not a main event match. I don't feel the fans have been able to get fully invested in him. I also think that the Tensai/Brodus Clay duo will win the Tag Team titles in the next couple months.

Despite the opinion of the overwhelming majority, some people did get it right last night...
I still can't shake the feeling that the fact that the match will not take place in the Chamber afterall is a clear sign that creative wants to put The Shield over here.

Look at like this... To win the match in the Elimination Chamber, Shield would have to pin all three babyfaces. That includes not only a clean pin on Cena and Sheamus but also cleanly pinning Ryback as well. I just don't see a way that creative could reconcile that believably. As much as I would've loved to have seen this be a chamber match it would make it nearly impossible to have the Shield go over.

Having a traditional six-man tag match gives The Shield a multitude of different ways to escape with a "clean enough" victory that makes them look strong without the babyfaces coming out looking inferior.

Since the "SuperFaces" seem to have gotten the upperhand in these last couple TV brawls that set up the match, I'm going to say formula holds and the Shield gets their turn to laugh last, for now.

These are the musings of a very smart man.

As for the PPV in its entirety, let's say that was the only bright spot on an incredibly mediocre evening(being generous).

ADR/Show:
This was the worst match of their program, both men just seemed off their game. **1/2

Claudio/Miz:
Bad chemistry. Bad ending. Just bad. *1/4

#1 Contender WHT Chamber match:
The best thing I can say, it was physical. It was also very ho-hum, and none of the eliminations were dramatic. Overall this was a respectable yet very contrived effort. The spot where henry put Orton through the pod was brutal though. I hated seeing Swagger win, I hated that it was with a roll-up even more. If they are going to have Chamber matches be this formulaic and unmemorable they should maybe drop the concept entirely. ***1/4

Shield/Super Best Friends:
This is about as good as you can expect from an all-star 6-man tag shoved into the middle of a card. Everybody played their role well. Shield really has good chemistry together. Everybody got to look strong, and the booking was well done. The right team clearly won(props to those smart enough to predict it). There weren't really bells 'n' whistles, but there didn't need to be. Also Tyler Black cleanly pinning Ryback makes me happier than anything else I've seen from WWE thus far in 2013. This was MOTN. ***1/2
(But I could be tempted to go another quarter just because they followed through on the hard decision to put The Shield over)

Ziggler/Kofi
Why? Atleast we got to see a Big-End. And the crowd made me happy with the "one more time" chant. Its nice knowing some of the universe watches NXT. *3/4

Kaitlyn/Tamina
If you're gonna add a Zigs/Kofi late throwaway, why make us suffer through this kind of pointlessness this late in the card as well? *

Rock/Punk
How do you keep the Rock from gassing? Wrestle the most frustratingly slow-paced WWE title match in forever. And he still couldn't deliver entertainment in the end. Somehow this made their RR match look watchable. **3/4

Overall I went with a D+ grade for the show. The six man match boosts the card due to being booked and worked about as well as possible. The chamber match wasn't memorable but I didn't hate watching it.
