WWE Council of War

Benoit's promo with Eddie at WM20 was pretty badass.

"I BELIVE IN ME!!! I BELIVE IN ME!!! I BELIVE IN ME AND THATS ALL THAT DAMN WELL MATTERS"

epic
Yes, it was epic. It's unfortunate that it has been buried forever and technically doesn't exist anymore like everything else Benoit did (like it should be).

Shame cause I was at The Garden that night, and the promo (and the Main Event) were so fucking awesome. Now I can't even watch them (or anything else that fucker did, which sucks because he was excellent).

I'm so, so on 20. There's a lot of unnecessary stuff there like both tag title matches and the playboy thing, but there’s a lot of good too. If only one of Lesnar/Goldberg were staying, that should've been an epic showdown.

I'm in the middle of Goldberg vs. Lesnar. If I were Vince and they were sticking around they'd be jobbing to whoever a jobber was back then the next night on Raw and for about a month after that.

Takers entrance for that show was sick.

Ive heard people say the ME was the greatest triple threat of all time.

Very hard to disagree, holy fuck what a damn match.

The greatest triple threat match I've ever seen in WWE was Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle vs. The Big Show at Vengeance 2003 (Smackdown's very first sole pay-per-view). On paper if you see Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle vs. The Big Show and HHH vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit matched up against one another, everyone is going to pick HHH/Benoit/Michaels, but man... if you actually watch that Lesnar/Angle/Show match, it's in-fucking-credible.

Big Show is generally awesome in multi man matches, so I dont doubt it at all.

Still though, the WM 20 ME, what a fucking war. The amount of blood on HBK looked like a fucking movie. The dramatic ending was amazing too, with Benoit holding onto the crossface. the crowd was going APESHIT during the whole last minute or so

I'm having a hard time regarding Mania main events with such reverence that I would establish finite rules like "no heel turns." Then again, maybe I've just lost the magic.

As for Mania 20, I have a hard time choosing between that triple threat and the rematch the next month. Michaels tapping to Benoit in Edmonton and the massive heat the Hebner spot got are just overwhelmingly great moments. Shame they've been buried forever and technically don't exist anymore. [/Jericho]

In regards for Vengance 2003, the ending came on so fast that I was shocked when the three count went down. Otherwise, pitch perfect and often overlooked because it didn't take place on a bigger show.

I still say Rock vs. Angle vs. The Undertaker from 2002 is the best triple threat match going.

Fucking goodness, you WOULD say this :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It's true. What's wrong with that main event? It's not like any other Rock/Austin match was a clean-finish technical match or something, they were always insanely heated brawls that went the storytelling route over the in-ring work.

Not in the Main Event. Not in the main event.

Shomer fucking Shabbos.

What's wrong with a heel turn in the 'Mania main event? It pretty visibly shows the fans that a new era is upon us, which is what 'Mania is supposed to do every year, be the big blow off to one set of feuds and booking and the beginning of the next set. It achieved that perfectly and the WWF was never the same again after Mania 17.

I still say Rock vs. Angle vs. The Undertaker from 2002 is the best triple threat match going.

That's a great one, but they get a little too finisher-happy at the end for my taste.

I'll still take any of the Joe/Styles/Daniels triple threats over just about any others, ever. I just watched one from a UWF-TNA house show in the summer of '06 that was nearly as good as their Unbreakable match. Those guys went fucking batshit crazy when they wrestled three-ways.

anyone else ridiculous giddy excited for Sin Cara? Im shaking in my little booties. PLEASE let him be on SD. Less likely now that its not on network TV anymore, and with the next draft, they in all likelyhood will be trying to make that show RAW 2.0

Hell yes, I'm looking forward to Sin Cara. I had known about him, but only youtubed him when it was announced he was signing, and holy fuck I want to see him even more now.

I want to see him on whatever show they want to put him on. However, I want to see him feud with Rey in a Face/Face feud or ADR to start off. Mainly because I have faith that they can showcase his work better then anyone else in the company (MAYBE a high flyer like Evan Bourne could do it, but not as well as Mysterio/ADR).

Our luck, he first feuds with Big Show or something.

He would probably have AMAZING matches with Drew and Cody.

come to think of it, Zack Ryder would probably mesh well with him real good, to get him started you know

I would think he's going to Smackdown to start off. Smackdown seems to be the international showcase for the company. Working with guys like ADR and Mysterio will help him out. If I remember right, ole Sin Cara doesn't know fuck all with english, I could be wrong though. Working with guys that can help him learn English will work out best for the company.

I'm just very speculative concerning the WWE using the guy right.

WWE is nailing this international thing they've got going right now. Huge market out there to buy PPVs from. It worked back in the 60s/70s (the international thing, not PPV obviously) so it'll work now.

Also, these young kids think Nash would beat Andre in a last man standing match? Really?

Andre would win, but it wouldn't be a cake walk. I remember shitting my pants when Nash hit the Jacknife on the Giant.

You mean when he dropped him on his head? I did too. I thought Giant was dead.

Also I didn't know this but did you know Andre never fought big guys? You learn something new every day on here.

Well that last time he tried didn't turn out so well. He did nail it twice before, third time wasn't the charm I guess.

And yes, the ignorance of Andre not fighting other giants is mind boggling. Well honestly it's not. Blame the WWF for only shoving the image of broken and beaten down Andre from Wrestlemania 3 down our throats for 20+ years.

He would probably have AMAZING matches with Drew and Cody.
I would think he can have amazing matches with anyone under 250 pounds. Not a knock on him, but I can't see him doing what he does against guys like Kane, Big Show, and Brodus Clay.

come to think of it, Zack Ryder would probably mesh well with him real good, to get him started you know
YES, YES, YES, YES, YES.

Anything to get Zack Ryder on RAW more often. Hell, everyone loves his Youtube show (even John Cena gave him props for it via twitter).

The english thing is a good reason to start off with a hispanic opponent.

Kids are stupid. But it could be worse. People could think that a Hammerlocking, headlocking, Lou Thesz could incapacitate Vader in a Ladder Match. Or that Hulk Hogan is a stupid oaf and will get DQed in a pure match because he will punch Piper 10 times or whatever.

I was thinking about this the other day: At WrestleMania 23, the theme was All Grown Up and they wanted to revisit Andre/Hogan so they had Kane body slam Khali. Wouldn't it have made more sense to have Umaga/Cena take place at Mania instead of throughout January and have Cena body slam the undefeated monster?
