WWE 2K16 Thread

Do all three brands need 12 PPVs a year?

and in any case, you said you COULDNT do it, when you 100% can indeed do it

Fair enough - there are WAYS you can do it, but not without costs.

Raw/Smackdown combined for 13 ppv's a year.
Royal Rumble, Fastlane, Mania, Extreme Rules, Payback (looking to change this ppv), MitB, Elimination Chamber, Battleground, Summerslam, NoC, HiaC, Survivor Series, and TLC.

NXT has 6 ppv's.
R-Evolution, Fatal Four Way, Brooklyn, Respect, and UK London.

Of course the cross-over is Battleground.

I may replace Payback with Elimination Chamber, but I'm not sure yet. Payback is honestly a rematches ppv of Extreme Rules, and transitions into MitB.

Has anybody else had a problem with people glowing yellow during matches? It randomly happened to me 3 times last night. The wrestlers, ref, Lillian and the doctor were all glowing yellow.

Are you sure your show wasn't attacked by ISIS?

It sounds like you may need to have them inspected for some type of biological agent. Perhaps radiation poisoning?

I played today and it was fine. Looking back I may have been so tired that I was kinda out of it and seeing things. :lmao:

Yea not having custom theme music or at least a really deep selection of theme not used in the game is a real replayability crusher

All said I love it. It's not better than the 30 years of wrestlemania version, but right up there.

Tell me how you really feel

Collosal waste of my money. Everyone involved should kill themselves.

And when I create a wrestler I want them to come out in a way thats unique, not a bastardisation of Sheamus and Stunning Steve Austin. *****, mate. *****.

I dunno why I hate the entrance thing so much. I skip them all anyway. The bunch of *****

I guess it won't matter to me next year if I upgrade to a PS4 but I really hate how shitty hand half assed the Superstar Threads is. I know I touched on it a bit before but the more I've gotten into the more I see how many mistakes or omissions there are in it.

The stories in Universe mode so far seem to be pretty much the same cut scenes in different orders minus a couple that had an extra one thrown in. But Universe mode on next gen does look really cool.

This is however the quickest I have ever gone through a year in the game. Matter of fact I have never finished a year before because until you guys told me about being able to defend the titles anytime I want, I would keep changing things around to have different titles and I would get bored.

So I'm in year two now. And I'm making an imaginary story line along the way which saw surfer Sting as big gold belt champ take on Vader at the start of year one. Then in the midst of a feud with Rick Rude I had him lose the belt to Andre The Giant who held the belt up until Wrestlemania losing to Lex Luger who was the United States champion and had a strong year. Lex and Sting are allies and now Sting disappeared after losing the title to Andre who destroyed him. Sting is going to return on Smackdown as the Crow Sting and still be allies with Lex. He's going to go after Andre to get revenge and then eventually have a friendly rivalry with Lex to get his rematch for the title. Lex is going to turn on Sting and rejoin Ric Flair to reform the 4 Horsemen. Sting is going to win the feud and title. Hopefully by the time that is all done we'll get the next round of DLC so I can have the tag team I want for the Horsemen. Otherwise I'll throw The Hollywood Blondes in there as the tag team.

WWE 2K15 (last year's game) is on sale on Steam for 75% off. I won't buy it, but I thought I'd pass the info on.

Man the Elimination Chamber Match is so glitchy. It's almost funny how horribly glitchy it is. Hope that's fixed soon.

I just had the greatest couple of ppv matches. I don't think any wrestling game has given me better ones.

Charlotte/Sasha Banks - Divas title/Falls Count Anywhere - after Sasha got the jump on Charlotte to begin the match, it made its way to the ring. Several big moments, including submission escapes by crawling to the ropes, and high impact near falls. The end came on a rollup by Sasha.

Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn - IC Title/Extreme Rules - similar start. Owens (with a chair) smashed Sami in the face to start things off. Several hundred chair shots followed, resulting in Owens winning and Zayn being severely injured.

Reigns/Big Show - WWE Championship/No Holds Barred - This match turned very ugly for me. After Reigns hit all his big moves (ropes drop kick, reversed chokeslam into Rock Bottom-type move through announce table, spear through the ringside area, superman punch) - Big Show COUNTERED the Spear finish with a knockout f'n punch and won the match!!!

Now not with standing my enjoyment from my Extreme Rules ppv, I have to say I love the in game flow.

During the Charlotte/Banks match, after each near fall - both girls argued with the official, or couldn't believe it wasn't 3. After near fall finishes, and very late kick outs, Sasha actually slapped the mat, then counted 3 with her hands. Charlotte just held her head in her hands. It was such a big match feel.

On the flip side, Reigns started trying to Irish whip Show, and because Show was so strong, he simply couldn't. Show kept shoving him away, or planting his feet and throwing Reigns the other way. I had to wear Show down in order to even whip him.

The actually finisher counters were awesome as well. Show's chokeslam was countered by the jump around to behind move, and at one point I was able to hit the Superman punch in reversing that.

(Small note: Because I didn't want Show to win, I had a Raw title match ME the following night. Reigns went for a corner spear, and even though it looked like he hit it - Show got up first, and still managed to pin Reigns. All following that spear. It reminded me of the Hart/Goldberg plate situation. So I'm rolling with it.)

I've had some great matches too. I love that you can't kick out of a finisher before the 1 count and I love that big matches can end up going 20-30 minutes if you set momentum to slow.

My last PPV Rollins stole back the WWE Title from Finn Balor (who beat him for it in his main roster debut 2 months earlier) in a 4 way match that also had Reigns and Batista. At first I was annoyed it messed up my plan for Reigns turning heel and screwing Balor out of the belt at Royal Rumble but now I'm rolling with it and changing things around.

I still get very annoyed at the fact it seems almost EVERYONE kicks out of 1-2 finishers.

I can't seemingly have a match in which Reigns, Show, or even Lesnar just dominate for 5 minutes - hit a finisher - and the match is over. Nope. Guys like Neville (albeit, that one is understandable), Slater, and Ryder are kicking out of multiple big finishes and it just isn't right.

On a side note - has anyone seen any cool finisher reversals into finishers? I've seen the Curb Stomp into the RKO finish through a video, but I'm talking others. I've heard there are several.

I just bought a PS4 and am debating if I should pick this up right away or wait for a price drop. I've looked at online reviews and the last few posts of this thread, and there's many differing opinions.

Now that the game has been out for a few weeks, is the info below fairly spot on? Also, I'd like to get a couple pro's & con's for the below modes. I appreciate any input you guys can provide - green rep incoming. :)

Opinions on:
-Career Mode
-Universe Mode
-Creation Options
-Online

Pro's:
-Big roster
-Crisp graphics on next-gen consoles

Con's:
-Slow gameplay
-Not enough custom options

Indifferent:
-Submission system

The slow gameplay isn't necessarily a "con" I think that's up to the individuals tastes.

As I said before, this is a lot like the last big version released for last-gen consoles, if only slightly less meaty(in some spots...in others you have new features, like the ability to jump someone at practically any time during their entrance, which I have had some pretty hilarious results from).

From what I gather (I haven't tried myself) Carreer mode is somewhat amusing but loses replay value fast. They still haven't managed to make it deep and intuitive.

So if you liked that game, you will like this....this goes for both Universe mode and creation suite.

It may not help much, but the "slow" game play actually makes it better to me.

I get more bored with matches that are all one sided, unless you just quit fighting so the A.I. can show something. While I do argue they can fix it to where it shouldn't take multiple finishers to end weaker opponents, I still like this game style better.

Universe mode is still missing some depth. I think they went backwards on the Rivalry setting, but it's still fun.

No clue about Career mode, or Austin's history.

Creation suite is bottomless. You can honestly create anything with the right tools.

I never use the Rivalry thing in universe mode, am I even missing much? Granted besides months where I have a Takeover or a major PPV I tend to skip from ppv to ppv but if I'm missing a ton of good stuff I'd probably stop doing so much simming.

It always just made it dull for me. When I run against the ropes, I don't want it to take 5 seconds, I want it to be fun. I can't even imagine using Dean Ambrose on the game to run the ropes.

It depends. When you run Rivalries, you have cuts scenes almost every week - unless you just have one guy win every week; then the game pretty much says "F-You" and doesn't do them for a few weeks.

Ultimately, you don't miss much other than that. Well, I guess they change their traits up from time to time. I'm not sure if you can do that on your own or not. Stuff like heels are cowards, and faces are bold. Etc, etc, etc..

I'm thinking we're off on what we're discussing. You make it sound like slow game play to you is when you run and bounce off the ropes.

I was referring to the mechanics, and how it's difficult to have a squash match. You also can't just hit a single finisher as soon as you get it, and expect to win off it. You have to wear the guy down - a lot.

Which only sucks if you like playing as Lesnar and squashing people. I admit, it sucks when you play your own stuff and want one guy to just dominate quickly, but it's still few and far between.

Slow gameplay to me is when the gameplay is slow, not when it is more time consuming. Slow punches, slow running, slow execution of moves...that's slow gameplay and I hate it. I don't mind longer matches, but I do mind more boring matches.

Eh, I'm not upset by that game play. I will tell you that you may hate it though. Punches, when repetitively hitting the punch for the 4-button combo go slow, and in some wrestler's cases, the final punch doesn't even connect.

The thing I love about the slowness is the fatigue factor. You can't hit big move after big move forever on end anymore. You can't run repeatedly. You can't instantly climb to the top rope quickly all the time. You weaken. (Example: Balor, controlled by me, took forever climbing the ropes to try for his finisher against Itami. The first attempt was countered. The second hit.)

When you whip them to the corner, then want them facing the other way, (when fatigued) you slump against them when you turn them around; due to wasting more energy.

Rivalry in Universe mode has officially become the single dumbest thing I can lay claim to in this game.

ADR (US Champ) v. Cesaro was built for a month. I even pushed Cesaro into the #1 Contenders role before assigning the feud. So the ppv match-up... is non-title. ADR wins, and somehow it says the feud is still going on for 5 more weeks. How the hell?! It was a "short" feud. Not medium. Not long.

I'm approaching the MITB ppv, and can only wonder how I'll have to adjust rosters to get the right guys into the MITB match without editing it and losing the MITB title; turning the match into a glorified 6-man ladder match that's worthless.

Going forward, I'm begging them to develop a way to make Rivalries more than just single's or tag team. I want 3-way feuds, and even 6-person feuds.
