Congrats to Edge but it's to soon for him to go in to the hall of fame I know I will get some heat on this but it reminds of when Eddie went in Eddie Past in Nov and was inducted 4 months later and now Edge will be going in the hall 11 months and 11 days after he retired that to me is too soon.

I've just recently been going back and watching more about the Horsemen and it really makes me wish I could have seen them in their prime.

This is more than deserved. I just hope that all 4 Horsemen and JJ Dillion will be there.

actually mark, even though Mil Mascaras is the first official inductee for 2012, The Rock and Carlos Colon are also confirmed, just not announced. This is news that has been posted for months,. Edge is a good move, gets the younger generation excited about the HOF ceremony this year as Colon and Mascaras will not be to well known to many newer fans. So in effect, Edge is the fourth guy to be CONFIRMED for the 2012 HOF, just the second to be publicly announced. I was a huge Edge fan and is certainly eligible for HOF considweration, but I persopnnaly think it is too soon, espeically when guys like Barry Windham, Rick Rude, Ricvk Martel, Jake Roberts, Davey Boy Smith, Arn Anderson are not in there. Vince is solely playing for this for the current fan base, it is not based on merit

Having seen them in their prime, it'll be great to see them get immortalized. They deserve every accolade they've been given.

and no, not biased. ;)

does that mean that ric flair is in the hall twice, i am glad that they are in they were the first stable to get over. i just hope they are able to have ric flair there

I love this. Definitely deserved, and even if this wasn't the original Horsemen, for my money this group was the best version of it.

I just hope Windham can be there. He just suffered a massive heart attack recently.

I thought The Rock would be first or even second to be announced this year. But, I am very happy for Edge. He truly deserves it, for sure.

It isn't too early for Edge to inducted. Why would you wait five to ten years when emotions have calmed and people barely care anymore? Right now is the perfect time to induct Edge. A Hall of Fame induction means your career is complete and let's face it folks, Edge is done from in ring action. Now's the perfect time. His DVD as well as WWE Studios movie is due out around the same time as his induction in the Hall of Fame. It seems to me the WWE is trying to give Edge one final send off. Edge is my favorite wrestler, there's no one more important this year (with the exception of Randy Savage) that should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. It isn't rushed. It's perfect timing.

As for The Four Horsemen. Great. They weren't exactly around during most of my days but watching documentaries, YouTube videos, WWE footage and whatnot certainly gave me a taste f what these guys are all about. The Four Horsement without a doubt, influenced a handful of my generatioin's best wrestlers and inspired numerous succesful factions like WWE's Evolution or even TNA's Fortune. Ric Flair gets inducted twice and I'm sure it's an honor for him. Michael Jackson got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice; once in 1997 woth the Jackson 5 and 2001 as a solo artist - I think a comparison between Flair and Jackson is suitable here. One of the best stables ever, they certainly deserve to be inducted.

It's starting to show how the possible main HOF inductees are drying up. We are already inducting people who have been retired for only 1 or 2 years. I wouldn't be surprised if we are inducting The Undertaker or Triple H next year.

I think besides that the WWE should be considering Mick Foley as a main HOF inductee but Vince seems to hate that idea for some reason. Savage could have been a good person to lead the HOF this year and I honestly believe it was coming down to that though I guess the WWE was one year too late :(

If I was WWE I would of waiting on Edge for one reason, if they are talking about WrestleMania 29 in Toronto next year what a fitting place for Edge in his home down and give him the best send off they can and maybe have this years inductions for older wrestlers that have not made it in, pretty sure there is a dozen guys that could be consider if Vince would stop being a dick and give the guys their due, how is Big John Stud and Bobby in it but never Bundy did I miss something to why he never made it, they are also doing the Four Horse men, correct me if I am wrong but they had Flair's photo up so are they going to induct flair twice as last I knew it flair was TNA or am I wrong.

I have actually seen Hogan and Flair a few times shown on WWE program in spots which again is not something you see in WWE as those 2 guys are in TNA and to WWE TNA does not exist in Vince's world

Edge has a had a hall of fame worthy career. I don't think anyone can doubt that. Should he be inducted this early? That's another question. It eats me alive to think that he's going to be inducted before The Undertaker, The Rock, Mick Foley, Triple H, and a number of others. I know he was forced to retire and he's probably the greatest World Heavyweight Champion in the last 10 years, but it still doesn't sit right with me. There are other more deserving candidates sitting in line.

I'm loving the Four Horseman being inducted. One of the best stables in wrestling history. Ric's already in, and he probably won't be at the ceremony, but the other men that made that stable deserve their recognition too. I always liked Arn Anderson back in WCW.

Ric Flair was at the Hall of Fame ceremony last year when HBK was inducted, he just wasnt shown on WWE television. Ric Flair will be there and there is no way you can induct the Four Horsemenr with out Flair. Typical WWE though, they have only selected who they want to represent the Horsemen. Windham,Anderson and Blanchard are all bona fide Hall of Famers, but Ole Anderson was a fouinding member of the Horsemenn. Having JJ Dillon added is a nice touch./ Flair will be at the 2012 Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Bank on it

Anyone that thinks that Edge doesn't deserve this might want to look at a record book. Edge has won more titles in the WWE than any other wrestler in history. More than Hogan, Cena, HHH, Rock, and Austin.

If you're not a believer in records than I defy you to question his work ethic having suffered injury after injury and constantly returning, switching brands to cover for the injured Undertaker, and having some of the most unbelievable moments that put his body on the line to the fullest extent POST NECK INJURY! (Please see vs. Flair on Raw, vs. Cena in Toronto -going through 2 tables, any TLC match involving the Hardys, vs. Foley at Mania -flaming table, and all his performances in the MITB ladder matches)

Edge is the man and whether he is the main guy elected or second fiddle to The Rock it will still be an honor for him to get in first try. I stil think Rock goes in this year, he's Vince McMahons "Ric Flair" and he'll get the royal treatment.

Also, read the writing on the wall for WM29's location...Waiting a year for Toronto is ok but waiting two years is not gonna happen. If The Freebirds don't get a nod this year, it's a given that Mania is going to Dallas! Vince can put 90,000 in that building easy, they could possibly get Austin v. Punk, Cena v. Taker, and Shaq v. Big Show to headline, and a HOF class with Savage, Freebirds, Gary Hart etc.

Predictions for this years class:
The Rock
Edge
Horsemen - Flair, Blanchard, Anderson, Windham
Mil Masacaras
Carlos Colon
Midnight Express
Ravishing Rick Rude

Now that Edge is going in I feel that the Rock may NOT go in this year. Maybe there are some wrestling plans for the Rock beyond Wrestlemania and they don't want a HOF induction to imply that this may be his last match.

I wonder if everybody who was ever a Horseman will be considered a hall of famer? Because Paul Roma is so deserving LOL. But at least this is the closest we can get to the wrestling career of Benoit getting the recognition IT (not he) deserves.

Okay so I was right about Benoit being part of the Horsemen stable at one time, wasn't Sid Vicious also part of them, I still think WWE should of held off on Edge till at least next year only because if they have WrestleMania in his home town it would be a really nice send off for him, I just wish WWE would put in some of the other guys who deserve to be in there they put guys in there who are not wrestlers like Drew Carrey just because he was in the Royal Rumble, who they going to induct next the freaking muppets cause they appeared on Raw lol, come on, Edge earn a spot no doubt but pretty sure their is a list a mile long of guys that have not been honoured who came before him that vince seem to forget or have a problem with but never did when they were making him money

while some people are saying its too soon for edge to be inducted the way i see it...what does it matter? hes retired and its not like he doesnt deserve it his resume speaks for its self, hes got the record for the most title wins ever and hes 1 of the best ever to lace up a pair of boots i noticed nobody mentioned the four horseman being announced as well tonight which in my eyes is the greatest stable of ALL-TIME! anybody else wondering if ric flair is gonna show up for the cermony?

Way too soon but then again it's the WWE trying to do what it can to sell tickets. More people will buy HoF tickets now that Edge is going to be inducted.
Makes me sick (even though Edge deserves it) that others who came before him still have yet to be inducted. Is Rock in the HoF yet? Oh man.
Feel free to correct me but these people have been stiffed:
Miss Elizabeth- The freakin first lady of professional wrestling!
Still no Jake the Snake Roberts?
Lou Thesz still not getting the nod?
Stan Hansen?
Randy "Macho Man" Savage- Could be inducted with Elizabeth if need be
Put Jim Neidhart, The British Bulldog, and Owen Hart together and induct them all together for crying out loud! The 3 together have enough accolades to be HoF material.
How the hell isn't Yokozuna in there yet!?
I don't care if Bruno Sammartino has refused to be inducted. Just play a damn video tribute to him. The longest reigning champion in history!
Rick Rude anyone?

There are many more that others will name these are just a few. I think it's time Vince gets his head out of his ass and starts inducting people that have already passed on and paved the way for guys like Edge to do this. Snubbing them while inducting LIVING people is a rather large loogie spat in the face of everything said talent has done for the business...

Mind you I am not against Edge being in there I just feel that there are MANY others before him that still deserve to be inducted. Just another case of WWE wanting to sell tickets.

Why are people upset about Edge being inducted in too early? He is retired, he wont be coming back to wrestle so why not induct him now whilst the iron is hot? I dont remember people pissing and moaning about HBK getting inducted a year after his retirement. Ok, HBK was a step above Edge but Edge deserves his place in the HOF.

As for Jake Roberts....do WWE really want this loser attached to their company? The guy is a bad egg. Yes, he had a great career but he is a drunk, drug addict and a pretty miserable man. I hope Jake gets well but until then, or when he dies keep him away.

Well I am not upset but I still think its too early. Especially when the WWE has an opportunity to induct some of the older legends like Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, The Rock, or The Ultimate Warrior (yeah I know Warrior is not possible right now).

Plus Edge was retired less than a year ago, I would have liked it if they waiting maybe 5 years so it would give the fans more of a chance to sink in his career and accolades. It's great Edge is inducted but I would have preferred others to have lead it this time around.

I honestly do think the WWE is running out of people to induct. Savage passing means they can't have him as the main inductee, and they wasted Rowdy Piper by being filler to Hogan.

However with Foley resigning I think he should lead 2012's HOF class. He was just as influential in the Attitude era than Austin or The Rock wit his amazing promos and bringing memorable Hardcore Wrestling to a mainstream audience. Also his charity work is something to be admired even for programmes initiated outside the WWE. Plus with The Rock working at WM28, he would have been the perfect person to Induct Foley.

Why isnt OLE being inducted with them? I wonder how past members of the horseman feel. There has been quite a few. I guess WWE just wanted to choose which ones they thought were the best members. I do agree with this set though. Sorry Sid and Mongo.. But DEAN, the man of 1000 holds should be in.

I wonder if Flair will be allowed to attend and be there. Im sure the Crowd will chant his name if hes not. Hopefully this opens the door for him and WWE to get on good terms

There are always going to be people who are not truly happy with the main inductee for the Hall Of Fame, because, as has been said before, there is a lot of choice.

Whatever you believe, Edge has been chosen purely because the company doesn't believe his induction should wait. As someone said before, he definitely isn't coming back to wrestle, and as they did with Eddie Guerrero, younger fans still remembered him so they wanted to make sure they struck while the iron was still hot.

Edge retired 9 months ago, and I think now more than ever is the right time to induct him.

Ole hates everyone and hates WWE. Why would he want to be inducted? Same deal with Bruno Sammartino. He wants nothing to do with WWE.

Plus Edge was retired less than a year ago, I would have liked it if they waiting maybe 5 years so it would give the fans more of a chance to sink in his career and accolades. It's great Edge is inducted but I would have preferred others to have lead it this time around.

Why? Why should he wait? That doesn't accomplish anything. This isn't the NFL or MLB. He can't wrestle anymore, so why wait? I don't want to wait until 2017 for him to be inducted.

It's not Edge's fault other people aren't being inducted.

Last night on RAW, Edge was announced as the first Hall of Fame inductee for the class of 2012. I personally think it's well deserved, Edge was always going to be a Hall of Famer in my eyes, regardless of whether his career continued longer or not. Being an 11x World Champion is Hall of Fame worthy in itself, but he was also just a fantastic wrestler to watch. But I've been speaking to some friends and many of them have said that it's too soon to induct Edge into the Hall of Fame. He only retired in April of last year and think he should of been inducted the next time the Hall of Fame is in Canada.

I personally think it's a great idea to induct him this year. For some the emotion of Edge being forced to retire early is still fresh and in my opinion it's a nice way to come full circle. I don't think he'll be the headlining inductee (I speculate that The Rock will be announced at some point) but this is well deserved and quite clever from WWE. In regards to the idea of only having him inducted into the Hall of Fame when it's in Canada is great in theory. But that might not be for another few years, and perhaps Edge's importance will of wore off slightly by then.

What do you guys think? Is it too soon?
