Japanese wrestlers are nothing but a bunch of overrated guys who use FIGHTING SPIRIT as an excuse to never sell a thing.
Now that I think about it, most of this stuff is my common opinion.
- Young Bucks are shit.
- Heel Jay Lethal is shit.
- The IWGP Jr. Tag titles are utterly pointless.
- Roderick Strong is bland as fuck.
- Steve Corino makes the Raw commentary team seem tolerable.
- Katsuyori Shibata looks like he's shitting himself. So does Tomoaki Honma. But Honma is actually a good wrestler. Shibata is just another shitty MMA "tough guy".
- People overhype the utter FUCK out of ROH and NJPW when its average most of the time. Except ROH. The TV show is utter dribble.
- TNA is a walking corpse. I'll admit that.
- Most lucha libre outside CMLL and ocassional AAA is actually a mess. Especially WWC. That's a dreadful mess. Which I've watched more than anything else for some reason.
- Wrestling obsessing over social media and MMA has turned it to shit.
NXT is currently the most overrated thing in wrestling and may be in the last five years.

Overrated, yes. Completely shit... depends on if they do too much of their indyriffic style. Now that I think about it, most of this stuff is my common opinion.

So much of wrestling is so boring, that if it was for KB, I'd have dropped out years ago or not got back into it fully.

Much appreciated.
I've gotten more enjoyment spending three minutes on one of your articles than three hours watching most Raws. Most weeks I just sleep in and read you for the cliff-notes as to what was actually good before I start jumping around and watching.

How so? I find it extremely stupid to watch a wrestling show and then in the middle of it, I get a worked MMA fight. Because 2 guys have an MMA background. I'm sorry. I could've sworn I was watching a wrestling show. If I had any desire to watch two men shoot, I'd watch UFC.not the only thing in this post I take an issue with, however most of it's pretty ignorable subjective stuff, but this is just a fucking stupid thing to say
It's a bad taste on wrestling. Everyone knows there's a large difference between the two. But yet, some of the times, comes a guy with an MMA background and guess what? He shadow punches, he does submissions, he's got no appealing ring gear. But he's dangerous. He knows Judo. He knows Brazilian Ju Jitsu. Who gives a fuck?! You're wrestling. That's supposed to be the predominant factor. A UFC fighter should beat a WWE wrestler in an octagon. But a UFC fighter should sure as shit not beat a WWE wrestler in a wrestling ring because it's supposed to be two totally different things. You take that shit to boxing and guess what? All the Muay Thai training amounts to nothing because it's a totally different sport. Why is it a good thing to know all that in the "sport" of pro wrestling where its perfectly normal to jump off the ropes and knocking a ref to use a chair is an acceptable strategy?I actually agree with you though that wrestling's obsession with MMA can be massively damaging - though I take no issue with MMA-influenced matches or ex-MMA guys (ones who can work a match anyway), it's when for example supposed WRESTLING commentators are putting over MMA as The 'Real' Thing it really hurts wrestling - GFW's commentary team has got me on edge for this reason.

5 years? 5 years ago, Jack Swagger was the next big thing.
There's others, I'm sure, but that was the first that came to mind.
Unpopular opinion: I think he could been far bigger than he got to be, if the WWE didn't hamstring all of their '09 - '13 debuting guys. Him, Barrett, Sheamus, Del Rio... that was a good cast of guys to bring in and put up.
Unpopular opinion 02: You will notice I did not include Drew McIntyre.
The reason they use Big Show and Kane all the time is because they are better than the vast majority of the roster.
Pro-wrestling should be representing all styles of fighting really, if someone's good at kicks let them kick, if someone's a grapple technician let them grapple etc. - it's just the inevitable "this is the real thing" plugging that comes with it. MMA fans on the whole sure don't respect pro-wrestlers so it is dumb that there's wrestling shows desperate to put MMA guys over. How so? I find it extremely stupid to watch a wrestling show and then in the middle of it, I get a worked MMA fight. Because 2 guys have an MMA background. I'm sorry.
