Wrestling Language.. "Carny"

Getting Noticed By Management
So I was reading Roddy Pipers book and he mentioned that he would talk in Carny to all the wrestlers while in public so the fans wouldn't know what they were saying, he gave a brief mention that this was a language wrestlers would use and learn.. I started doing some digging and found this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carny

I never knew this... did anyone else know? Good stuff ..

here is a quote...
Many Carny words are still used by professional wrestlers today i.e. mark, work, snozz etc. Pro wrestling originated in the carnivals of the 19th and early 20th century where wrestlers not wanting to face regular injury and wanting to make bouts more entertaining would 'stage' their fights. Carny language was used to disguise the staged nature of the bouts with all involved keeping 'kayfabe' or protecting the secret. When wrestling became an event in itself and left the carnivals the language came with it. British wrestlers up the 1970s used polari words in the same manner but this died out in favor of the carny equivalent words when wrestling became 'sports entertainment'.

The link above gives more examples of other terms and meanings.. I was just surprised.. and wanted to pass it along to folks who might have not known it.

Uhh...without intending to be mean, who didn't know this?

Well we knew it started in circus acts and stuff, but I didn't know there was a language to it.. and more importantly didn't know that they STILL use it (according to Piper) in and out of the ring.

I can honestly say, I know a lot about wrestling history, but you learn something knew everyday.. I didn't know this at all that there was a language they spoke. I am not above learning something new, I would like to learn more of this language.
