Wrestlemania 27 - Sheamus(c.) vs. Daniel Bryan - United States Championship

This is the return of WTM

Dark Match Winner
The last segment has set up the match and Wrestlemania is now set for me.

I didn't get to see Raw last week, but after Sheamus's win, I felt glad.

Also, I'm happy for at least this feud will be followed to Wrestlemania.

Anyway, any thoughts or comments on this match?

I really hope these two can work good in the ring together because last year sheamus and triple h's match was just bad for me. These guys haven't wrestled in the ring that many times but only once really and that much was ok but at Wrestlemania they need to step up their game. It's their chance to become. If they have a great match it will live on for a long time and I think every superstar in the WWE who will be participating needs to put that in their head.

I'm really looking forward to this match, as I'm really glad that Daniel Bryan will be part of his first WrestleMania. Sheamus can make a good match with Bryan if WWE let them. This could be a very intense match up. Bryan's talent is too great to be left out of WM, and this can bring some prestige to the US title. The feud is, so far, is well built and this is rare for a lot of PPV matches. I'm pulling for Daniel Bryan to win and doing some good moves along the way.

well for one im just glad the US title is being defended at wrestlemania cuz for the life of me im not even sure if thats ever happened, Should be a great match! better then the good one they had on RAW. i think this match should be given at least 20 minutes. could definitely be a classic

That's just absurd. Maybe 10-12 minutes at the most, but off the top of my head there are at least seven other matches taking place and 3 of them are deserving of a substantial amount of time. No way a match that the casual fans really don't have a lot invested in takes up 20 minutes of show.

That being said, I am really looking forward to this. Along with the Rhodes/Mysterio match up, this has the chance to be the mid card sleeper that steals the show at Wrestlemania. DB is an extremely solid worker who can put on fantastic matches and Sheamus pulls off the power guy gimmick better than any rookie I've seen in years. A classic style match and I see Sheamus leaving with the strap.

I am looking forward to this one. Sheamus has shown that he works well with smaller sized workers. And Daniel Bryan is......Daniel Bryan. I can see a very intense match here.

The last time was WM22 between JBL and Benoit. The bigger travesty is that the IC title hasn't been defended at Mania (except for the 30 second JBL/Rey match a few years back) since WM18.

Really glad that Bryan's got a match at Wrestlemania. After Sheamus beat him I thought it would have been the end of his push and he'd go back down to being a random mid carder but it seems Vince likes him enough if they're giving him a championship singles match at Wrestlemania. Hopefully he steals the show and just goes crazy, although I'm a little bit worried he's not going to get that much of a reaction. Go IWC fans!

the last time we had a decent US Title match at a WrestleMania was WrestleMania 23 between Chris Benoit and MVP.

Sheamus vs Bryan should be given at least 10 minutes and this could be a really good match, and I'm proud that Bryan is debuting at his very first WrestleMania!

I hope WWE can add Kofi to the card by having him defend the IC Title against maybe Evan Bourne in a RAW vs SMACKDOWN Match and if WWE gave both of those mid-card title matches around 10-12 minutes, they could be the show stealers along with Rey/Rhodes, Punk/Orton and Edge/Del Rio.

I'm pumped for Mania and I cant wait - 12 MORE DAYS!!

Sheamus & Daniel Bryan have had a couple of really good matches against one another and I see no reason why this one won't be just as good or even exceed them. Many of Sheamus' best matches in the WWE have been against smaller guys like Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan & even Evan Bourne. Yeah, I said Evan Bourne. Last year, he and Bourne had a great 10+ minute match on what was one of the overall best Raws of the year.

I'd love to see this match go 15 minutes, which I think is pretty reasonable.

Oh boy.... Technical vs brawler, most of the times you don't have big expectations, unless each wrestler can be both... wich isn't the case. However Daniel Bryan has that gift that he can make look good ANYBODY, just take a llok at his matches against Dibiase. The guy fucking sucks, but with Bryan, he could be decent and MAYBE good.

On the other hand we have Sheamus, a big, white guy, an obvious brawler. His matches with other big guys (Orton, Cena, HHH at Mania) has sucked. However, he has had good matches with JoMo, Kofi and yes, Daniel Bryan.

I can see this match being really good, a perfect match for a couple of mid carders (yes Sheamus is NOW a mid carder). I think it could go either way, I don't care about the winner. I know that these two will shine and putting a great match.

Sheamus is going to be on a win streak. He's 2-0 right now and I have a feeling this streak is just going to continue. It makes no sense for Sheamus to lose at Mania and clearly Daniel Bryan can afford it. Sheamus needs to look in theis match to be a good champion. There is no reason why he won't beat Daniel Bryan and clearly there is no reason for Bryan to win. If you are going to have this match than clearly it is going to be a filler. I think although this match will be appealing it will be a downgrade for Sheamus. If anything they should have made this match a 6 man match in order to have more superstars be in it. I think then Sheamus would look even stronger in the title defense and he will bring more prestige to the United States Championship. I think he is still a Main Eventer in my eyes he just is sacrificing himself for the WWE.

I have never seen anyone win in a rematch for the title unless you count Cena's rematch against Batista last year which shouldn't count because Cena didn't have a fair match. I think that there is no reason why this feud needs to continue and I would much rather have Evan Bourne VS Sheamus in a feud because they have some history. Also I think that this would be more interesting and it would give Evan Bourne the push that he was getting before his injury. Without his injury who knows where Bourne would be right now. I think that the rematch clause could have been done differently. This match bores me and I really don't think there will be any build up to it.

I think this match will be a drawn with Sheamus getting a defense. I do not want to see this feud and I don't want to see this specific match at Mania. I dislike the way this match is being treated. Hopefully Sheamus wins fast.

Definitely not a 20 minute contest. Sheamus is a good worker, damn good talent. Don't even need to speak on Daniel Bryan. Everyone knows about the American Dragon already, guy is mint in the ring. This has the potential to be a really good match. I think Sheamus is gonna tap however. Tap or Snap!

This could be a very good match. Sheamus is a talent. Daniel Bryan... well, what do you think?

I'm disappointed by the lack of build for this match. They could have had a nice midcard feud. Gail Kim could have been involved, which is the point of a valet. But instead, this match was made a couple of weeks before the event. Damn shame.

As for the result, I want Sheamus to tap out. I'm a huge Daniel Bryan fan and if he leaves the US Championship scene, I fear that he could be lost on Raw. That title was his anchor. Sheamus doesn't need this win, he could go back to the main event with ease. Daniel Bryan does need this win. My feeling is that Sheamus will win. But, then again, I am a cynic. Maybe Bryan will win. I really don't know. OK, OK, this is my prediction...

Sheamus wins via Celtic Cross at the 12 minute mark. But don't quote me on that.

I'm looking forward to this one. Daniel Bryan had an outstanding reign as US Champion, and Sheamus did have a nice run in 2010. These two have had some entertaining matches, and I don't think anything will be different at Wrestlemania. I expect these two to have a good match, and my hopes are high for this one.

I'm picking Sheamus to retain here. He managed to regain some momentum by winning the US Championship, and I don't think he'll drop the strap so soon. It's hard to tell where Bryan will go after Wrestlemania, but I hope he won't fade away into obscurity.

I'm surprised they put this match in WM27. Shemas is getting boring and WAY less brutal. Bryan is boring as well in the ring. I think they should throw someone like Evan Bourne into the match to spice it up a little bit.

I don't see Sheamus losing the strap to Bryan in this match. It looks like WWE is trying to establish Sheamus as a dominant U.S. Tilte champ. I see this match going about 7-10 minutes, with Sheamus being the victor via the Brogue kick.

I am hoping this match gets a decent amount of time because honestly I think this match may suprise a few people as far as its quality. As a fan I am hoping Bryan gets the win in a back and forth match but I really think that Sheamus needs it more which doesn't bother me because I am a fan of both guys.

I really hope this match is the opening one and that Sheamus retains
this can set up Bryan vs many other superstars for the #1 contender and hopefully help get some others over.

Sheamus will retain, the WWE just cares far more about him than they do Bryan, and with good reason. Should be a pretty good match if given time, as they had a damn fine one on RAW a couple weeks ago. Hopefully a proper, strong US title bout in the undercard of this show. Decent chance to be the opener, I would say.

The only thing that confuses me about this match is the fact that Sheamus pinned Bryan clean on RAW last night. No gimmicks or bullshit, just hit his finisher in the middle of the ring and pinned him. Why would anyone expect Bryan to win at Wrestlemania now?

Anyways, looking past that minor bump in the road, this match has alot of potential to be great but unfortunately so does almost every match on the card. Throw in the fact that I shudder to think of how much time Triple H/Undertaker and Miz/Cena are going to get and the time given to most of the undercard matches isn't going to be in excess. I'm quite certain that they won't be given enough time to get anything really going, but hopefully I'm wrong because like I said this match could really deliver .

Well I hope everyone is happy. Daniel Bryan gets his Wrestlemania match, and a midcard title is being defended. No Money in the Bank garbage on the card, and the young guys get a chance to shine in individual matches, who would of thought that? (me).

Should be a pretty standard match from these two. I would imagine this might be the match to open the show. Daniel Bryan might get no pop when his music hits, but the crowd does get behind him the further a long the match goes. He has stiff offense, and the Wrestlemania crowd tends to be smarky. A smark darling opening the show seems logical.

I see Sheamus retaining the title, but I'm not sure why. Sheamus seems bigger then the midcard, but it might be something for him to do while other heels like Miz and ADR get into the world title picture. On the flipside, if Bryan stays too far away from the mid card titles, he might fade into obscurity.

This will probably open the show. I think it could be amazing if it is given the time it deserves. If they get to open the show and get in more than a dozen minutes, it could set a great pace for the rest of the show. Sheamus should be feuding with Trips honestly, but we all know how that went. This title reign and feud is still much better than losing every week as the reigning King of the Ring. Call me crazy but I kind of miss his cape. It looked silly on Sheamus, but it was something that really stood out on several predictable and boring editions of Raw. Bryan gets to be on his first Wrestlemania, which is awesome and I always enjoy his matches. We are in for a treat here. I think Sheamus will retain though, because he only just got the belt and his reign can be good if it continues. Bryan can move on to more relevant feuds after this.

DAGGER’S PREDICTION:
Sheamus will retain the US Championship.

Should be a good match as their past encounters have been. Think it's too soon to put the title back on Bryan so I wouldn't be surprised to see another match between them at Extreme Rules. Bryan will give it his all but will come up short as Sheamus picks up the win.

This will probably be the show opener. If given a good amount of time, it should be awesome. Bryan has a fantastic ability to get the crowd behind him after sometimes initial silence when his entrance music plays. Sheamus is super solid in the ring, he's just flows so flawlessly in his matches, hits all his big moves perfect nearly always. Bryan, is fantastic in the ring, has a great style, and should work really well with Sheamus. Bryan probably won't win the title back just yet, but I see him regaining it in the future, as Sheamus starts making his way back towards the World Title scene. Bit surprised Bryan lost clean to Sheamus on Raw, but it wouldn't have really changed my opinion on the match outcome. Sheamus to win in a great match, unless there given little time.
