Wrestlemania 27 - Sheamus(c.) vs. Daniel Bryan - United States Championship

This is the match I want to see for the match quality and not the outcome. I dont care who wins, because it will be a fucking fantastic match no matter who wins. Bryan is awsome in the ring: giving the likes of Ted DiBiase, Dolph Ziggler and The Miz their best matches of their CAREER and I am predicting this will also happen for Sheamus. CANT WAIT!

The last time was WM22 between JBL and Benoit. The bigger travesty is that the IC title hasn't been defended at Mania (except for the 30 second JBL/Rey match a few years back) since WM18.

This just annoyed me for who knows what reason but hte the US title was defended at WM23 as Chris Benoit defended against MVP.

If these guys can go a good 13ish minute match it will be good.

I'm Very Happy to see Daniel Bryan on the card as I am a Big Fan of his, Sheamus is good and with him being in a match with Daniel I think he's going to come out looking Very Good after the match. This match will probably be the opener and I think it will be a Pretty Good match with Sheamus picking up the win after a Pretty Good match after around 12 minutes.

Show stealer here? Quite possibly if given enough time. Sheamus suprisingly has great chemistry with an ass load of mid carders, and that's probably the reason he's holding the United States Championship. This is Daniel Bryan's first 'Mania so I'll be pissed if he doesn't put on a good showing, but I tihnk he will. A couple of weeks ago, Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan shocked me at how good the actual match was. Shemaus has all the momentum here so there's no way Bryan is taking back the United States Championship. Sheamus will likely have a good long reign as the United States Champion but I'm terrified that Daniel Bryan won't have shit to do if he isn't used the next night in something productive.

Hamler's Prediction- Sheamus

I got this match opening the show, and what a good match to start off the card. I think this match needs to go on first so they can get a solid amount of time. I think with as packed as the card is, they might take away time from this match if it goes on latter in the card. These two have shown they can have good matches, I expect this one to be no different. If they got enough time I could see this match stealing the show. I see Bryan coming close, but coming up short in the end. I think this feud will continue at Extreme Rules.

I have a strong feeling this may be one of the best matches of the night. I wasn't disappointed when daniel bryan lost the U.S. title. This will hopefully be a chance to re-build sheamus instead of rushing him right back to main event. I think daniel bryan will also be used more and hopefully for the better. I look forward to this match since D.B. is great and sheamus is definitely solid in the ring. Feud/hype wise its poor. It was a last minute thing.

I was actually really intrested in this match, Daniel has amazing technical wrestling abilitys as we all have watched. I love Sheamus, I'm not sure how he would work as a face, but he hit's it really well for me as a heel. Both men are rather good in the ring, and I think this would be the classic strong man vs Tech. wrestler match that I've been wanting. Sheamus, if you like him or not is good in the ring. His mic work is improving. Daniel is just great but his Title run was very stale, this might be the fude he needed to prop him up into getting into the main event. Daniel is someone I see breaking into it within the next year, IF he can start getting more Mic time and memorable fudes.

Ive heard alot of people talk about the notion that Rhodes/Mysterio could steal the show. I truly think this is the dark horse flying under the radar that could do the same. Bryan and Sheamus have wrestled one another quite a bit over the past months and they seem to have great chemistry. I really think this will be a match where, if given time, both men can come out of it looking really strong. I fear Bryan slipping into mediocrity if he loses, and becoming just another name, while he deserves so much
better.

That being said, I can't see Sheamus losing here. WWE planned the "losing" storyline out well to rebuild Sheamus, and it makes it a stretch to see him losing here. I know hes gotten the better of Bryan along the way at every step, but I believe WWE simply sees Sheamus higher up at this point then they do Bryan. Bryan unfortunately had a very stale title reign after his matches with Dolph Ziggler, so it wasnt a huge surprise when they took the title off of him. Hopefully we get a 10-15 minute match here. I see a ref bump going down while Sheamus taps to the LaBell lock, keeping Bryan strong. Sheamus capatilizes on the bump when Bryan releases the hold, and hits the Brogue kick for the win.

Prediction: Sheamus

definately capable of being a show stealer.
as much as im a fan of bryan it makes more sense for casper the irish ghost to go over at wm.
maybe let bryan kick out of the brogue kick, then sheamus finish him with his razors edge thing.
sheamus can show bryan respect and bryan leaves with his head held high as he heads to smackdown and ziggler can begin his face turn by feuding with sheamus

This match has a ton of potential. It's basically a coin flip to see who'd win this match if you didn't pay attention for the past few weeks. I doubt that Sheamus' troubles to get the strap then drop it a few weeks later at Wrestlemania back to Bryan so soon. I see Bryan getting the momentum in the end before Sheamus gets a lucky shot in to retain his title. It's too big of a stage for Sheamus to walk out or get himself DQed. This match has the potential to be a great match. Not the show stealer, but a close one.

Sheamus for the retention of his title.

These 2 can put on a good match easily, they can steal the show, I hear they are opening the show, and it could be a great opener, I mean when was the last time the US title opened the show? XX and the last time it was defended was i think 23.. This title needs more recognition and it's going to get just that.. I see 2 going over 10 mins and putting on a great match.. We all know they can, they work well in the ring with each other..

Sheamus to retain the US title, but I can't see him doing it with ease.

Everyone knows by now that Daniel Bryan is a tremendous athlete and a phenomenal in-ring performer, so he will most likely dominant most of the match, but to lose to out a Brogue Kick by Sheamus who will win by pinfall. I have high hopes for this match because I do enjoy watching both of these guys wrestle, they have had two matches so far which I enjoyed, considering they were TV matches too. Should be a good opener to the PPV, probably last about 12-13 minutes.

Well, unforunatly The E took the match off the Mania card and put it as a pre-Mania dark match. If that wasnt all, they made it a lumberjack match. This is a straight up dumb move by WWE, this could have been the match of he night. If they wanted so badly to move a match they should have done so with the 8 man tag match.

This was the match I most wanted to see on the Wrestlemania card (what can I say, I'm a huge Bryan Danielson mark and wanted to see him get the title back).

Unfortunately, they decided to remove it from the show without telling anyone, so I spent the entire show saying "it's got to be next...it's got to be next...did I miss it when I went to the toilet?".

Is it any wonder I came away from the entire event underwhelmed and disappointed?

DAGGER’S PREDICTION:
Sheamus will retain the US Championship.

Well, I would have gotten this right if the match took place as promised. This should NOT have been bumped. Sheamus and Bryan should have started the show and they deserved to have their match because it would have set the pace for a great show and I really think they could have put on a very entertaining match had it not been taken off the main card. Did WWE not learn their lesson from taking the tag team unification match off the card 2 years ago? The fans hate things like this, WWE! Learn from this mistake! I did enjoy the match they had on Raw, although it was too short in my opinion, and the dark match we got for Wrestlemania wasn't anything to write home about. Too bad. I was looking forward to this.

Sorry for bumping this guys but I too was very dissapointed with this match being a dark match. Bryan made it clear on RAW that he was going to use his rematch clause for Mania and when Shaemus accepted it, I was really hoping to watch it. This made Mania look like a Mtv Movie Awards.
