Would Daniel Bryan in TNA get you to watch?

Pre-Show Stalwart
After a new report saying that WWE will never give in to fans' desire to see DB on top again, it made me wonder if he'd ever say "enough is enough" and went to TNA. Sure, there are several other options out there at this point, but if TNA were to somehow throw all the money they could at him and then advertise during WWE programming "Hey guys... look who's over here," it could be the shot of life to save that company. Their product isn't as awful as it has been in the past and would provide a TON of fresh matchups.

So what do you think? Even if it's unlikely, would you watch Daniel Bryan on Impact?

Any wrestler going to TNA is the same as going to Switzerland and paying Dignitas a visit.

But I watch TNA anyway. Not weekly, I'm not a complete mad man. But I watch it and despite being stale they still have a great roster and I'd love to see Bryan face off against the majority of them.

Well, you could measure the drop-off of viewers and whatnot, whatever the amount, as the exact measurement of Bryan's popularity if he ever did that. It would be eye-opening.

Why do people keep assuming that Daniel Bryan is fed up with WWE and that the WWE doesn't value him. That's all wrong, stupid, fiction!!! The WWE markets Daniel Bryan like any other MEGA-Superstar in the roster, they hyped up his return, he got to crap on the Authority's face the night after they lost power, he's always in major storylines, etc. And why would Daniel Bryan want to leave WWE? He's the face of Smackdown, a TOP DAWG in the Reality Era , gets the loudest cheers in the history of pro-wrestling, won a championship in every year he's been in the WWE, and he's given the right amount of time day in and day out to go out there and wrestle for the fans. He's a happy dude and his relationship with the WWE is as great as it can be. They let him have a week off to marry his wife the week after WrestleMania and made a documentary about his journey to WrestleMania 30. Not only that, but he was given the opportunity to write an autobiography and they sent him with LEGENDS like Sting and Paul Heyman to the comic-con panel. That alone proves they think highly of him. Next time I see a " WWE doesn't think highly of Daniel Bryan" attention-seeking 'report', I'm going to put my keyboard in the Yes-Lock.

I do watch TNA but only for the good matches they put on the show. I don't mind about storylines or feuds or whatsoever while watching TNA.

If DB goes to TNA I would love to watch his ring style and real potential and why he's the PWI wrestler of the year for 5 consecutive years. But I won't give a shit about whether he's a face or heel or what storyline he's in!

Cheers!!

I haven't watched TNA since about June or July 2012 and I wouldn't be able to watch it now as Destination America isn't available. From what I understand, it's only available in about 50% of the United States anyhow, and I'm apparently part of the 50% that doesn't get it. So even if Bryan, Punk, Cena, Wyatt, Ziggler, and some others all magically defected and popped up in TNA, it wouldn't benefit me as a fan as I wouldn't be able to watch.

In the grand scheme of things, I don't think Daniel Bryan is going anywhere anytime soon. Even if Daniel Bryan never comes the "face" of WWE, he still has to be considered one of the top commodities of the company. While I personally think Bryan could pull off being the "face" of WWE, it's something I've never actually expected. When Bryan was about to start getting pushed as a singles wrestler after his team with Kane ended, I always surmised that Daniel Bryan would probably have a spot along the same lines as Chris Jericho. Like Jericho, Bryan has developed a reputation for being able to put together top quality matches with damn near anybody, he's highly unselfish, can be counted on to have fans interested in him and will probably remain around the upper mid-card level with occasional forays into the main event scene.

In terms of money, I don't think TNA can make Bryan as generous of an offer. Now while I can't say this is 100% accurate, I remember reading a few years back that Daniel Bryan has a downside guarantee of $675,000. Again, not saying that it's accurate, it's just what I've read. If it's legit, then that's the least amount of money Bryan can make with WWE under his current deal.

First off, this will never happen. His wife is with WWE. And even if Brie wanted to leave for TNA, her sister is with WWE. And even if Nikki also wanted to leave, she's dating John Cena, and he's not leaving.

That being said, match-wise, yes, I would love to see Bryan in TNA, wrestling guys like Austin Aries, Roode, Storm, Kurt Angle, etc.

Actually I already watch TNA, surprisingly on destination america they're putting up quite a decent product. :p

I'm not sure that given the type of roster they have that Daniel Bryan would shine as much as he does in WWE. It surely would be a huge draw though.

firstly, i don't see Bryan leaving WWE due to his wife being there. As for Bryan leaving for TNA, if that ever happened (doubtful), then yes i would watch it. and i understand some people thinks WWE values Bryan, but i feel that they don't value him and that it's not wrong. Sure WWE likes his in ring skills, BUT they really do and truly believe that Bryan is a B+ player and that's why i disagree with the above comment. i don't see WWE giving Bryan a WWE title run ever again and in my book, he more than deserves a title run. anyways, to answer the question, yes i would watch Bryan in TNA. he would have great matches and TNA would give him a proper title run.

I live in Canada and don't get TNA anymore since they switched networks. But if DB went there I would actually put in the effort to stream it every week.

Look, even if Bryan wanted to go to TNA, what makes you think they would sign him? Remember, he had a serious neck injury that nearly ended his career. That is why nobody in Titan Towers believes that he can be the "top guy". The question will always be, "Can he stay healthy? Could he get finished off in his next match?". They are already telling him to cool it with some of those moves he does. How much more watered down can he be before he loses his effectiveness in the ring? Sure, he can wrestle a keyboard, and you would get a great match. That does not mean he can end up like Edge.

As for watching TNA: I DVR and watch it now without him. It is doing fine now. Bryan can only add to a good product.

I live in Canada and don't get that channel, so my answer would be no. The fact that he's married to Brie Bella shouldn't stop him from leaving. CM Punk walked out and he's married to AJ Lee. If he want's out then I'm sure he will, but don't see him ending up at TNA for some reason.

The WWE would be idiots to let him go anyway.

I think it's unlikely. Bryan has it made in the WWE. If he retired right now, he'd be a Hall of Famer. He got his wife in the company, he's a featured wrestler on the show. I could see if he was being used like Zack Ryder then I wouldn't blame him for leaving.

With all the backlash after the Rumble it got me thinking along these lines while I discussed wrestling with a few of my buddies. I don't know if going to TNA would work because they are looked upon as such a crap organization by mainstream SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT fans. The only people who seem to enjoy TNA are WRESTLING FANS because they have such a surplus of solid in-ring work over there and they actually let their guys show their in-ring talent all the time unlike the WWE.

What I would love to see is a billionaire like Ted Turner to step up and throw truckloads of money at CM Punk, Bryan, Ziggler, Cesaro, etc. It would have to be a mass defection lead by both Indie darlings Punk and Bryan. I honestly think they'd have a shot right now just because so many people are so sick of the super stale WWE product. IMO WM30 is the best wrestling PPV and card in the history of the industry BUT it's a huge outlier. The last 3-4 years have been REALLY bad at most times.

Boy are you guys DUMB!!!!

No one would watch it. Just like none of y'all watched Desmond Wolfe another Internet darling who stunk up the joint and RETIRED!!!!

one of the dumbest comments i have ever read. For your information Wolfe had to retired due to medical reasons, but while he was in TNA he was incredible every week and people were very entertained. As soon as he came in he had a feud of the year quality program with kurt angle, then he had some great matches with Abyss, and was even a member of Flairs Fortune group. Had he stood around and not retire he would have been a world champ!

No, unfortunately. I gave up on TNA for good this past fall. I loved their product several years back especially in 2008. I watched up until 2011 or so, when their frustrating booking started to finally get on my nerves. Took a break and came back watching casually for a bit, then we had the Claire Lynch storyline which almost got me to quit watching but I tried to look past the idiocy of that and when Brooke Hogan was given an onscreen role I was done. The ONLY reason I came back after that was to see the newly reformed Main Event Mafia, I was a big fan of the original version of that faction. Things looked better so I watched casually until Eric Young won the World Championship. I won't even START on that. The final straw for me was TNA not having a World Championship match at Bound For Glory. It's no secret around here that I'm upset that WWE had no World Championship matches for three PPV's in a row.... but at least they aren't stupid enough to NOT have their biggest prize up for grabs at the biggest show of the year.... I'm tired of idiotic booking that makes no sense, and that's far too common with that federation.

Short version: No, because I'm basically at the point now where nothing could make me watch TNA again. They could have John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold, The Rock, and Undertaker all working at TNA.... but the federation would STILL find a way to massively screw up everything in the process. No offense to TNA fans. I legitimately do want that company to succeed. I just can't watch their product anymore and have no plans to anytime soon with or without Daniel Bryan, to answer the thread starter's question.
