Also, this was answered in the movie. Scott never loved Knives. He was only with her because, after Envy, he needed something easy. Something uncomplicated. Then Ramona comes skating into his dreams and he becomes infatuated. Her using the subspace highway caused that accidentally.

Plus, Ramona was very mysterious, which appealed to him, and also very troubled.

I understand what your saying that Scott was infatuated with Ramona and Knives was just a rebound chick. I guess I worded it wrong in the OP, I shouldn't have said "Why did he pick Ramona over Knives?", I was just saying if I was in his shoes I would have picked Knives over Ramona. They're both doable in my book, I would have just gone with Knives over Ramona if we're talking long term shit.
