The news site is in Spanish. Sorry, it's how I get my news and Google wasn't all that helpful to find the same report from an English source. For the non-spanish speakers, the report details the story of the Ohio native pictured having arrived at a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" and sitting with half an hour to spare and sits in the middle of the back row with a pretty big bag. The fact that he sat there and so early struck a nerve on the workers and they asked what was on the bag and after some denial, he revealed a 9mm Glock, several rounds of ammunition, 4 knives and... camouflage clothing. The man's lawyer, a Matthew Bruce, stated that the reason he had all that was in retaliation to the Colorado massacre from July 20th. "He felt fear due to the recent incidents and the need for protection" is how the quote reads. The guard on duty, a Ray Acuri from Westlake Ohio said " Had he decided to act, all his potential victims would be right in front of him. He'd have full advantage."

Registry reveals he's also had possession of 8 rifles and revolvers, has had a brief stint in the military.

"After what happened in Colorado, anything is possible. When you consider what movie he went to see and what happened in Colorado, you have to ask yourself what drove this man to bring these weapons to this particular movie." As stated by officer Acuri. I'll be honest, the Glock is... Understandable. There are a thousand alternatives that present less danger, but the Glock would make a tad of sense on a former soldier. The freakin' camo? Was he gonna change mid-assault or something? And 4 knives? This seems more like mental problems than mere paranoia if you ask me. Thoughts on this case?

I guess the military excuse is plausable. I've seen guys who were in the military and completely lose it, so I can see his mind being messed up, considering that the experience was traumatic enough for him. Paranoia is perfectly plausable. In any case, this is pretty jacked up. First a excelling student and now this guy. I'm not really sure what to make of all this. Both men could just have inescapable demons inside of their heads. On the other hand, they could both just be looking to get famous. I wish for the best possible scenario, whatever that may be.

The whole protection thing seems,at the very least, plausible given what happened in Colorado,at the same movie screening mind you. From what I gathered, the guy seemed alone. With that and the combination of all the weapons in his backpack, that should have been a pretty major tip off. I mean, why carry around 4 knives, just for protection? Especially against somebody who could have a firearm of some sort on him. I'm sure we've already heard the expression don't bring a knife to a gun fight...

It seems that if he was indeed intending on shooting up the place,my guess is he was waiting for the theater to first fill before beginning his massacre. I don't think the story adds up. He claims its all for protection out of fear of something similar happening again. Yet,he has the Glock, several rounds of ammunition,4 knives, and the strangest item of all, camouflage clothing. Did this guy just come back from a hunting trip in the wilderness or something?

All of these items combined with the fact the he was alone would suggest a different motive than what he's been telling. I don't know, innocent until proven guilty right?
