Would anyone else have picked Knives over Ramona?

I just finished watching Scott Pillgrim vs The World. I thought it was a great movie and delivered something new and refreshing. But the whole time I was thinking, Why was he going after Ramona when he had Knives the whole time?

Maybe its just personal opinion but I thought Knives was the cuter chick of the two and she seemed like the cooler one to hang out with. Maybe she was a bit young and a tad annoying at times but at least she didn't have 7 evil ex-boyfriends and wasn't a bitch like Ramona.

Thanks for spoiling it for me. I was totally going to watch it tomorrow.

Joke man, I wasn't planning on watching it.
Is it worth watching?

This is a common argument. The books make more sense out of it as Ramona is less of a bitch and Knives says she's over him.

I didnt like either of them. One was a **** as well as a bitch and the other was a crazy obsessive girl with no appeal whatsoever.

Scott should have really just gotten back together with the drummer chick. Oh well...

Depends on your tastes as it has a strange a.d.d. type style to it. But its definitely something different and is pretty fun to watch.

I never read the books, I was planning on it after seeing the movie though. Maybe its just the actress, she just had a bitchy feel to her and the movie has no subtlety whatsoever lol.

At the end I seriously thought Knives and Scott were going to stay together. But the fact that she was cool with him going with Ramona and she said she was too cool for him, made me think he should have chose her more for some reason idk.

I would need pics to decide, but Ramona isn't that immpressive, so it's quite possible I would have.

Hmm...dumb asian girl with no substance whatsoever, or a real woman. Tough decision.

Really though, you're missing the point. Scott never really liked Knives in that way. You might, and that's cool, but a big part of the story is about how Scott is really just using Knives as a crutch. At the end, this isn't so much a love story as it is a story about growing the fuck up.

They're both hot enough that a good time would be had by all, or perhaps just me; I'm fine with it either way really.

Ramona > Knives

Some could argue that Ramona was a "bitch" in the movie, but to me I saw a much deeper character, and a very troubled one - and this is without reading the comics. I saw the movie, read the comics, and saw the movie again. I felt that both SCott and Ramona were very likeable characters and that their depth and development was not immediately obvious since it wasn't thrust into your face. Just because it wasn't explicitly shown doesn't mean it was there.

Ramona was a real woman. She was a mega Woobie (to use a TV Tropes term), much moreso than Knives, who I found very meh. Well no, she was a great character, but come on. She's no Ramona.

And she doesn't have colorful hair. When she gets the highlights, they don't suit her.

Read the comics, they're excellent.

Didn't you already mention how you didn't care? I mean, if you want to continue to remind us that you don't care go right ahead...whatever makes you happy. This behavior just reminds of something I read just a moment ago:

Quite.

Fury is the guy that every time anyone mentioned Scott Pilgrim he chimed in with a "I hated it, and also I saw it for free".

Question, Fury: Are you known on the IMDB boards as "Moo-Town-Legend", by any chance?

Also, this was answered in the movie. Scott never loved Knives. He was only with her because, after Envy, he needed something easy. Something uncomplicated. Then Ramona comes skating into his dreams and he becomes infatuated. Her using the subspace highway caused that accidentally.

Plus, Ramona was very mysterious, which appealed to him, and also very troubled.

Did you know the thing around her neck is her little brother's shoelace? He died when they were young, and she's never gotten over it.

Whenever someone mentions it you talk about how you love it, isnt it only fair to have a negative to your positive?

And no, I use no other names than this one with the exception of my youtube account.

what person spoils a movie in a thread TITLE before the movie is even released on DVD? Hell it might even still be in a bunch of theaters.

This is almost a deal-breaker for my seeing the movie now. Sorry Doc, hopefully I can forget about it by the time it comes out on DVD.
