Worst Finisher to Win A title with....

Afro-Ameri-Spawn

Houston's Hometown Hero
I was fishin through my DVR today, cleaning out all of the shows that I had watched and didn't want to keep or recorded and had no intension of watching and came across last week's episode of RAW. So I decided to take yet another grueling look at CM Punk's championship moment and I have to say that it was pure BS. I mean to see a superstar like Edge have to be put down with a lackluster finisher like The GTS, which pretty much looks like something you would see a women's wrestler doing, was just a travesty of humanity and justice.

So, with that being said, I decided to open up a discussion to see what everyone thought their own personal opinion was on what was the wort finishers used to win any title you have seen.

i know he had broken neck but austin role up on own heart lol i know its a stretch but it was a bad finish..
worst finisher to win a title is the warrior on hoganat skydome wreslemania 6

I'll go with the leg drop. Most notably Hogan's leg drop. That move is not a good way to end a match and win a title.

Oh yah if you don't like the wwe/CM Punk version of the GTS look up kenta. He makes it look so much better.

:robvandam:

Sunset flip or backslide would be horrible moves to win a title on. Not because they're "quick pins", because many of those are actually legitimate-looking holds (like an inside cradle), but because they look so fake. If you can kick out of a wrestler laying their entire body on your shoulders, you shouldn't have a problem with something as weak as a sunset flip or backslide.

Another one: 619. This is just a horrible move to win ANY match with. The move is entertaining in its appearance, I'll give it that, but it takes far too much suspension of disbelief, it doesn't look like it hurts enough for it, and it looks incredibly fake in its preparation. The way I see it, this move should just be like a dropkick - a move that nobody wins on, but its flashy.

Clothesline - Yet another reason why I can't stand JBL. This is as weak of a finishing move as would be a freaking headbutt or chop to the chest. Just horrible.

I gotta agree with Hogans leg drop, esspecially in the later years.

But the People's Elbow is just as bad if not worse.

Oh and the Iron Claw.

The People's Elbow: Without a doubt, the most lack-luster move their is. It already sucks knowing I have to lose to the guy.. but to willingly lay on the mat whilst he kicks my arm against my side, flings an elbow pad to the crowd, then runs back and forth over top of me, before twirling his leg around my head and dropping an elbow that wouldn't even take my breath away.. then, I'd have to take a 3-count. No.. I couldn't do it.

The Worm: While he didn't really win a lot of matches, how horrible is it to wait for a guy to worm his way toward you, only to deliver a throat chop? At least the throat chop portion was somewhat deadly, you could really injure a person doing that.. but in similar fashion to the People's Elbow.. how embarassing must it be to merely lay there and WAIT for the moron to dance around the ring, then do the worm before pinning you?

^Exactly what I was gonna say^
Finishing moves should be quick, like the rko, twist of fate, stunner, etc. Even RVD's Five Star Frog Splash was pretty quick since he just hopped up to the top, and without hesitation-lept onto his opponent. The people's elbow and the worm took FOREVER! It was a bunch of unecessary showboating that did alot to rev the crowd up, but didnt have enough power and punch to compensate. I would honestly rather lose a title to a combination Thumb to the Eye and sunset flip than either of those too awful finishers.

How can you people insult the Peoples Elbow and The Worm? They are 2 of the greatest pure wrestling moves of all time, any Indy wrestler out there now would be proud if they'd created either of those moves.

Chavo's frogsplash.
Eddie and RVD did it with style and impact, but Chavo looks like he's BARELY holding it together. You'd think that after this long either he'd have perfected it, or someone would have told him to stop doing it. Retire it already Chavito.

da tadpole splash. its a freakin midget jumping on u n u lay down 4 a three count:lsabre:

I love how people just ignore the fact that "Finisher" moves are merely signature moves, and not supposed to be the uber-devastating moves they have been made out to believe. I would say that any finisher that requires the assistance of an opponent is bad.

So, moves like the Stone Cold Stunner, The Pedigree, Cattle Mutilation, The Canadian Destroyer, etc.

All of those are piss bucket finishers. I'd say the worst to win a title would be Rey Mysterio's 619 finisher.

The 619. Seriously. Any non-wrestling viewer is going to laugh when they see that, and I feel sorry for every other wreslter who'd had to sell that move at some point in their career, notably Edge and most recently Santino.

Scotty too Hotty -The Worm. I liked S2H, but this was reason enough to release him.

Texas Tornado -The Tornado Punch. Dont get me started.

hacksaw Jim Duggan -3 Point Stance. See above.

One of the worst finnishers to ever win a world title is undoubtably a leg drop. Hulk Hogan used this move to win many titles, which is just ridicuolus as a being hit with a leg drop in the real world would bearly hurt at all.

Yes, but imagine being punch many times in a row in the face by one of the strongest men in the world, then after running full speed getting kicked in the face, and finally having 300 pounds of muscle come crashing down on your face.

Yeah, I dare say that you would be knocked out for longer than 3 seconds.

That's how I look at finishing moves. I'd much prefer to receive a stunner than have a muscular bloke drop his leg on me.
