With the Rock,WWE unintentionally recreating Lesnar/Goldberg with Cena/Miz WM match,

Pre-Show Stalwart
With all the hype surronding the return of The Rock, and his claiming of involvment in the Miz/Cena match, I cant help but think there is a very good probability WWE fans in Atlanta will recreate one of the most emberrasing moments in wwe television. Now I know the circumstances are very different, and niether guy is on the way out. Fact is though nobody really takes this match seriously, otherwise they wouldnt have The Rock's name all over it. The Atlanta crowd is sure to be an old-school type crowd, probably a lot of WCW fans. No way they are not going to boo Cena out of the building. It seems like everytime at Mania, Cena is booed. Dont expect old-school fans to be in love with Miz either, most realize he has no place on this stage. Regardless of those two factors, the ultimate factor is The Rock. Rock will have the people ape-sh*t with anything he does. He will have them eating out of his hand. The fans want to see him kick around both these lame asses, and he has made it clear he intends to. After years of solid match ups WWE, hell last year one of the best match ups ever with HBK and Taker, WWE decides to go with this mediocrity. This match is weak and cant draw without Rock. It is an emberrasment to history of the card, ranking down there with Yoko/Hart and JBL/Cena. I believe fans at Wrestlemania will act accordingly and boo the hell out of both competitors. It's just like Austin playing the middle man in the whole lesnar/goldberg fiasco. Everybody waiting for him to stunner the competitors. Thats Rock's role and the people will grow restless the longer the match continues. It probably wont be a very good match because niether guy is a great wrestler, so I wouldnt be suprised seeing this whole thing fall apart in WWE's face. I can just here it now : "You both suck", "you cant wrestle" , maybe even "change the channel" Now that would be awesome. WWE desrves to have egg on their for deciding to stay with this paper champ when guys like Punk or Taker against cena would have been a much better draw, much better match, and overall more credible.

First of all, I thought Yoko/Bret was good booking. It was the classic underdog vs behemoth buildup and it worked. The problem is, the ending result was horrible at WM9 but was much better at WMX.

Now as for Cena/MIz, I do agree. It has been weak and is destined to be weak sadly.

If Miz and Cena's contracts were both running out, and neither had a world title, I would agree, but those 2 factors mattered more than the special referee for making Goldberg/Lesnar a fiasco.
Miz and Cena are two very strong workers, even if their wrestling is subpar, they put their soul into their matches and the company, and that should be enough to make the match interesting.

Miz/Cena will be a decent enough matchup, and Rock's involvement will cement it as a memorable Wrestlemania moment. So what if the fans do turn on Cena mid-match? It's not like it hasn't happened before.

People complain WAY too much about wrestling. If you don't enjoy watching WWE, why bother? Why invest time to come online and complain about it continuously? Do any of you complainers watch other television shows that you don't like every week? Furthermore, do you guys really think the opinion of a VERY small amount of WWE followers is going to change a thing?

If you dislike the product or the guys representing the product, stop watching. That's the only thing you can do that'll really matter.

YOU talk to much and suspect so soon, you havnt even seen the storyline play out. I think this would be a great match for the wwe. This is how you make superstars BIG. SO dont suspect something 35 days before mania!

I do not like the miz, and I am not crazy about Cena in another main event, but I see
what the WWE is trying to do. They are trying to build up the miz, but are doing it at
the wrong time. This is the biggest event i wrestling and no place to make a gamble. People will boo Cena as always, and hopefully they will be Miz because he is a heel after all.
The next few weeks on Raw will determine the quality of this match. Cena is going to "KO" the Rock on Raw, and I'm guessing the Miz will come out and there will be a confrontation. Rumor has it the Rock won't be on Raw again until the 18th at the earliest, but I think he may interrupt this Monday.

Yoko/Hart was not a terrible decision.
And I'm sorry...JBL/Cena was terrible? You're talking about the feud that took Cena from a midcard heel US Champion to a giant face trying to take down one of the most over heels Smackdown has ever had? When he switched to the new JBL style character, people hated him. When he started his ridiculously racist campaign on a product with a huge mexican demographic, people HATED him. And when he reigned as WWE Champion for over a year, people were clamoring for ANYBODY to come along and beat him. To put him in his place. So in walks this young kid who had a few spotlight moments with American Baddass Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and had a few decent US title reigns... This kid has been battling it out in the midcard for over a year, was the first to hoist and slam the Big Show, and was making a huge name for himself. ANd he decided to challenge the evil JBL for his title at Wrestlemania. And when he became the first man to do it, people went crazy. That feud was the making of John Cena. Without JBL/Cena, Cena the megastar never would have happened. So, no it wasn't bad booking. It was briliant and a huge payoff of over a year's worth of work. I'll tell you what was terrible...every Mania title match main event after that... This year is the first time in a long time where somebody new has come along and changed things up. So if you'd rather see the same old shit over and over again, you can watch the 9 billion variations of HHH/Orton/Batista/Cena.

THis feud isn't awesome just because of the Rock. This feud has steam because John Cena and Miz have BOTH been able to hang with the Great One and pull of great promos. All of them are keeping it alive, and it will be NOTHING like Lesnar/Goldberg.

Seriously nerd, it's not that serious. I'm not a Cena fan but I respect him, and so does a lot of fans, same as Miz (if not then a lot of nerds wouldn't have marked so hard at the MITB win and the title win)... WWE is trying to capitalize on showcasing their top two workers who really dedicated themselves to the company. The Rock being there is a plus for selling tickets, and it's real life drama with Rock and Cena. It doesn't take away from the match and if it does when did you become Ms Cleo and have the power to tell the future... grow up nerd, enjoy the freaking show.

I agree that this match might bomb. The build so far has been weak. Last weeks promo between Miz and Cena was pretty lame with childish comebacks. The week before they have a pointless tag title run. They expect to have this match be the maint even and top Punk/Orton Edge/Del Rio and Taker/HHH and be the last match on the card. The Rock Cena feud has completely over shadowed the Cena/Miz feud. They need some better booking in the next few weeks to sell this feud.

i agree with ya scuba, as of right now the current lineup for WM is ok and i guarentee Cena/Miz will NOT be the match of night and the fans are just anxious about what the rock will do to them. if rock is to be the guest host of WM i would like to see him actually get involved in other things besides Miz/Cena, there will probably be some back stage segments and something with Miz/Cena and thats it.

Feuds are not built over night. Why rush the building of this feud when you still have a full month? Wouldn't it make the match better now with all the attention on Cena and Rock for Miz to win at WM.

This is being done properly, slow and steady is what is needed. You rush things, you end up doing way too much and make it a clusterfuck. When you work 2 feuds in 1 match it must be done carefully. Right now, Rock/Cena is completely overshadowing it all which I can guarantee is the plan. If this were real life, if you were The Miz, you would be pissed off that your the WWE Champion, the top spot in Pro Wrestling HISTORY, going into the biggest show in Pro Wrestling HISTORY, and everyone is talking about your opponent and the shows host rather than you.

Miz wins at WM and doesn't let anyone live it down that nobody cared about him leading up to that night.

PS: For those who say, they should have made it Rock vs Cena instead, you are all idiots. Yea that is ideal but if The Rock doesn't want to wrestle than how are they going to book that match? IDIOTS!!!!

could be another Tyson/HBK/Austin type match too where Rock helps Cena like Tyson did Austin, even though Austin-Tyson were supposed to be "enemies". Either way, Miz and Cena are here for many years to come and will be headlining a lot of PPV's inc. Wrestlemania. Either deal with it or change the channel.

I honestly have some hopes for this match. While yes the build up is weak I'll agree. When Cena faced off against HHH one year and HBK the next those matches were not great. They were ok. Honestly Cena on the grandest stage of them all is never the top match. But that's the point here I could see the two being strong workers in this match as stated before neither one is the greatest wrestler.

Miz has to win at Wrestlemania, even if he doesn't deserve the spot he's in.

But if i were Vince I would've thrown everything at the Rock and Cena to make sure that match happened. Money, reduced schedules, turning Cena heel like he wanted to a while back, it doesn't matter. Rock "said" he wasn't coming back under the "kid friendly" format didn't he? People change their minds.

I agree...up to a point.

The WWE machine is firmly behind both Miz and Cena and seems they will be for some time to come (Miz less certain, case in point - Sheamus).

There is no way that they won't try to portray their match, no matter how predictable and dull seeing Cena win another world title at Wrestlemaina is, as anything less than absolutely epic.

Having The Rock there is to get people to buy the PPV and to try to finally wrest the idea that Cena is a sub-par main eventer that hardcore fans seem to think he is.

That being said, I really, reslly, wish it was Rock-Cena. It's such a shame that it's never going to happen.

I don't see the Rock being touched at all during this entire angle. He is here to work the mic and make Wrestlemania special. He will never be a full time wrestler, nor will he wrestle another match. I don't see Cena KOing the Rock....why would they jeopardize their #1 babyface weeks before Mania? None of this makes any sense.

I agree with what others have been saying about this being a remake of WM 14 and the Rock costing Miz the title and siding with Cena.
