Mine came in today, a week late. Worth the wait. Everything is faster, from opening programs, to opening websites, searches, everything. I am tempted to use some internet explorer to see how it is optimized for the program.

So smooth though.

I don't get all the bitching about Vista. I've never had a single problem with it.

I had no problems with Vista at all, but I wanted seven when it came out. When I bought my laptop I made sure it would run with seven.

The new stuff you can do with Media Center, like picking up TV through the internet, working around the need for a converter card, is just amazing.

I heard that Seven fucked with the kernel, completely reworking how the OS uses RAM. That way, instead of Vista being a complete RAM ****e, Seven is supposed to work cleaner and more smoothly. At least, that's how I think I remember it being put.

As far as Vista, I hate it because I hate it. I have particular gripes, but those are more about Microsoft being bitches who can't get their patches to work without deleting various rather important drivers from my hard drive (like my wireless card, for instance). I couldn't back it up in an argument with anyone though, so meh.

I've been loving Windows 7 ever since they let the Beta version out, then the Release Candidate, and then through my connections aka my brother's MSDN account, I was able to get Windows 7 Professional for my desktop way before it came out for retail. And my laptop I purchased also had 7 on it because the guy I bought it from also had an MSDN account.

Great great OS, my coworker and I (who are basically the computer administrators here) have given it great reviews to our supervisor so we got copies of Windows 7 put into the budget for next year. Soon my work computer will have it as well.

I think a proper review may be necessary in the Technology section.

Go for it. Newer than Windows 7 (it's actually in Release Candidate 2 stage), and if you're not interested in gaming, it'll be just as good.

You just have to take the time to learn a different operating system.
