Too Sweet To Be Sour
So, this is a pretty simple question. Do you think that The Heartbreak Kid has left the builing for good, or not?

Personally, I would more than likely place my bet on he has. I just can't see Shawn Michaels going back on his word of retirement and returning. I don't see him going the Flair route, although at first I didn't think Flair would either.

At first, it seemed like Shawn wouldn't retire so soon, and I thought he had more in him and still had the fire and the ability. But when you think about it deeper, the return in 2002 was supposed to be a one-off thing, but turned into an eight-year ride. Wether or not he still has it may be a question, and his body may be so worn down that he just doesn't want to wrestle anymore. I've also heard he wanted to be out for good and spend time with his family.

Another thing that makes me think he'll come back is current Undertaker storyline. It would be possible that HBK will return as the attacker, setting up the famous round three at Wrestlemania 27. The Rock and Austin went three, so why would Taker and Shawn not? But then you have to remember that HBK and Taker hugged after the match and it seemed like the fued was closed from there. But HBK could be back for one final shot at redemption, The Showstopper not wanting to be upstaged, especially not at the PPV that has unofficially become his surname. It's hard to tell on that one.

So, personally there are many ways to go about it, I'd place my money on the fact that he won't be back, but, hey, you never know. I'm kind of torn on it myself as I think about it more, but I'm still on the not returning card. So, it's up to you all. What do you think?

i believe he is done for in WWE he may come back for an appearance or two but i don't think he will be back wrestling anytime soon. he had a great run in WWE and he is probably the one of the greatest ever in WWE but he's done for.

I think we shouldn't cancel the idea out; odds are wrestlers always return for another shot at glory sometime in their lives. Hell as stated HBK was retired but then came back in 2002. It's possible.

But I'm voting no. He made only a few appearances before we all found out it would be Taker vs. HBK 2. He already stated previously to 'Mania that he will be sent off and wanted it that way. He has a family, is deeply involved with his faith at his local church, and has carried a legacy so big that he doesn't have to get back into wrestling to afford the good things in life.

Of course, things happen just ask Hogan. But I'm saying Michaels is out for good; he deserves the rest anyways.

Yes, in some magnitude, Shawn will be involved with WWE again. Will he come back and be a full-time wrestler? Probably not. Will he come back to just interact with the audience once more? Probably. I believe Shawn when he said he won't wrestle again. However, I do believe he'll want to see the fans and, in some form, make an appearance on WWE.

Shawn will, like many other "retired" legends, come back, maybe not to wrestle, but to do something.

I think hes done..heres the diffrence in this retirement and the 2002 hiatus...when he left the first time was because of personal problems...and partially his back..he was suppose to return in 200 but couldnt get his act together so they let him go....and he was still young mid thirtys..fast foward to 2010..hes 45 years old hes had countless knee surgies back problems and he wants to be further in his church and actually spend time with his kids..thats the reason he never went to smackdown cause he had bible study on tuesday nights and didnt want to miss it..i think shawn is done wrestling wise probably a few run ins maybe guest host down the line.....hes not flair..not hogan..not brett farve...i think he means it when hes done with wrestling...i say as much as i love shawn and respect him i think hes done and i think he likes where he is..hes worked 20 years so now he doesnt have to work just rest at his beautiful home in texas with his beautiful wif eand kids..and live a normal life and enjoy the friuts of his labors....im sure hes very well off finically and doesnt have to worry about going broke like alot of wrestlers who dont save what they have....long live the memory of HBK..but ladies and gentlemen..the Heartbreak Kid had left the building

No there is no need for him too come back.. he has done EVERYTHING within the company and there is no need for him to come back

will he make occasional apperances YES will he wrestle another match or come opout of retirment NO! SAWN has to much respect for TAKER and WWE to do that but would i love for for HBK to wrestle one more match HELL YES when i was watching WM i wanted the STREAK to live on but i didnt want HBK to go either so when HBK lost i was sad i almost started to cry and the next night on RAW when HBK gave his retirment speech i was with all the fans saying PLEASE DONT GO, PLEASE DONT GO with a tear in my eye so do i think he'll return YES but to come out of retirment and wrestle NO i think he'll just make apperances like some other legends do HBK YOU ARE MISSED

Shawn Michaels is definitely not gone from the WWE for good; as stated before, he is likely to make a return sometime down the road to make interactions with the crowd. However, the likelihood of him returning for a match with the Undertaker (or anyone) is very doubtful.

There were reports backstage that Shawn actually asked McMahon to drop a storyline he was going to hold against Undertaker so that he could be retired by him at WrestleMania. I think that's how he truly wanted his career to end - against one of the best veterans/legends of the WWE.

As for bringing him into the current storyline that's going on with Undertaker, I don't think he would be turning out to be the culprit; the man just retired. It's far too early to bring him back into the wrestling world - especially since this would just involve him in a match, and I don't think he'd be looking forward to it. I really do think his wrestling days in the ring are over. I say let the man get some time off from the drama and the pain - he really does deserve a break.

There may be a storyline or two down the line that could involve him, or McMahon may even invite him back to become a Guest Commentator. I do know that Shawn most likely isn't going to abandon his fans for good; he'll make a return. When, however, is the question. My guess is that it won't be for a while. But we can keep our chins up. Everyone knows our classic wrestlers won't be around forever.

TL;DR
Shawn is definitely not done with WWE and the fans, but for now, I think he'd rather take it easy. He's bound to make an eventual return sometime down the line. Patience.

Shawn will never wrestle again, he will in all the possibilities come back to make appearance . He is a man of his word and as much as i would like to see him wrestle again i don't think that is going to happen. I truly believe we have seen last of the showstopper wrestling wise.

I had to vote no because I believe Shawn is retired and wants to keep it that way. I do see him being a guest host in the future, but that is the limit unless he is given a GM position or joins the creative team. Will he ever enter the ring again? Probably not. I hope that he does not do what Flair did and goes back on his word. If Shawn were to go to TNA, I would never watch TNA and lose respect for Shawn. Not all of it, but a good chunk.

I doubt we'll see Shawn in the ring again. He will be missed, a lot, but it's for the better. They all have to go sometime.

Dear God I hope so. Watching My Journey recently, it's made me miss him SO much - I can't quite get my head around the fact we'll never see him main event mania again, or do the DX signs with Triple H, or give an amazing promo. That being said, I don't think he will return. Not to wrestle anyway - I truly believe he's done with that side of the business, as much as I hope otherwise.

That being said, I think we'll see at least a guest host position. I'm hoping for something more personally - Shawn Michaels as the GM of Raw or Smackdown would be amazing. He's still retired, but still there in the business. He's calling the shots, to an extent, and I think he'd be able to go back to his flamboyant Heartbreak Kid gimmick we all love. I think if Shawn ever wanted to do something similar McMahon would be happy to give him the job, so we just have to hope he gets bored of the slag he has at home. Which will be pretty easy. :)

I voted yes, he may have one last Mania match, maybe not at 27 but possibly 28.
There a lot of factors like how he is physically etc but although he loves WWE and has a lot of respect for the deadman, WWE would knock his door down to get him back if they thought they could. I think he as a person is in a better place than when he first had to retire, this time he chose to. He may get the itch to do 1 more match, but the difficulty is doing the comeback thing etc. How could they in storyline terms, justifiably bring him back once only? Even though i see doubts with it, my head says yes he will be back.

chances of Shawn Michaels returning I would say is more than likely, for one or two appearances, chances of HBK wrestling again, well I highly doubt it.

I would have to say yes, HBK will return but not to wrestle. I would like him to see as the GM of Raw or he could return as a manager to HHH thus forming DX again. Fingers Crossed.

He's gone from the ring . I voted no . But I know he will make appearances in the future . Like , obviously the hall of fame and maybe just a visit . Shawn was my favourite and he will be truly missed and I wish him all the best in the future

Nope...never will he wrestle again...he said it was legit..was given a good send off..not better than Flairs...but still decent...his last match was at wrestlemania...he won't wrestle anyone again...

Will he return to the "E"? Just for the HOF ceremony...

While I would love to see Shawn Michaels back in WWE as an active wrestler, or in some active style on-screen, I simply don't see it happening.

Shawn had his problems with Ric Flair returning at first, (I believe he ultimately gave his blessings) and the fact that he had those problems, the fact that he said he wouldn't want to be one of those that stuck around, makes me believe he won't make anything but a rare reappearance on a show like once a year like Roddy Piper for example, he could guest host, but I don't see it.

Only other way I see him appearing in WWE is through his induction to the WWE hall of fame, which as Ruthless-RKO questioned, I do believe he will definitely be there for, because of the honors behind it, and the fact that I don't believe there's ever been anybody not to have some kind of showing up (be it another family member due to death, or himself).

I think that Shawn Michaels will return to the WWE but not to wrestle. I agree with other posters when they say that HBK would make a good GM or guest host but I don't see him coming back anytime soon as he just left. I also agree that Shawn Michaels had the best send off possible

HBK will be back as an inactive performer - he will miss the road and miss the boys. First off he will probably referee a main event at WM sometime down the line. Then maybe come back for a few months in a GM role. He wont be able to stay away from the business for too long...just like Hogan, Flair, Bret have all failed to do.

I can see people drawing comparisons with Flair but Flair came back for money first and foremost, he had financial problems. Plus he has gone about his business in another company AND WWE retired him. WWE didn't retire HBK and nor will he end up in TNA...it was his decision.

Oh and I also expect to see Batista back in the business before 2011 is out.

You can never say never, but I think as a full-time in ring performer HBK is done. He is still one of the best in the business and can still put on a hell of a show, but I think he wants to retire before his performances start to slip...and I respect the hell out of him for that. Unlike Ric Flair, who is now a joke after coming out of retirement after his epic send-off against Michaels at Mania.

Shawn could come back for the very occasional 1 off special match in a couple of years or so, but I dont think we will see him in the ring full-time again. He will DEFINATELY be back on WWE TV at some point though, as a special referee, commentator, GM, Guest Host, Manager...hell there are so many things he can do, and Vince will want him to, because of his name value and popularity with the fans.

Shawn has alot of good things in his life, his gorgeous wife, his children, his religion, and much respect to the guy for wanting to enjoy the fruits of his labour for as long as he likes. If he ever comes back, he will blow the roof off the fkin place, as only the Heart Break Kid can!

Good luck Shawn, and Thank You
