Why not Morrison?

Why couldnt they have gave that Raw Rumble to Morrison. Why give it to Jerry when everyone knows hes not going to win. So why can't they have Morrison win, face Miz at the Chamber. So for now it looks like nothing is going for Morrison at Mania now, because hes not going to win in the chamber, so I just dont get why they couldnt give him this one tonight. Somone in the back must really hate Morrison.

I marked out everytime he hung onto the ropes. He was the most strongly booked superstar in that match..

Because Lawler in a Chamber Match will be a disaster. Because Morrison can do more spots in the Chamber Match. Because Miz beating Morrison again is not what we want to see. Because this is the build up to Miz/Cena at Wrestlemania and the title match at EC is just in the way of it.

It should have been Morrison. He has showed him and Miz could easily put on a great match at the elimination chamber. So instead of a fast paced 20+ minute match between JoMo and Miz we get a 10 minute match were it will look like Lawler is gonna win then Cole makes sure he doesn't and then it's King vs. Cole at Mania'. I'm not happy about this at all.

Morrison is my favorite wrestler. With that being said, I think I have given up on thinking he will win a world title in the near future. Ive waited two years to see him get the strap and it probably wont change for along time. Any Morrison mark should give up on hyping him to be the next big thing. I have no idea what to say. I think Morrison is in one word, UNBELIEVABLE! He does things that it would seem no one else can do. I think he is ready to be a top guy. Give him a finisher and the dude is set.

The reason why Jerry "The King" Lawler won tonight is so that Raw would have all six of their strongest competitors in that match and to have The Miz defend the title as well. It makes sense for Lawler to win the Raw Rumble match. I am actually excited for that match by the way, due to the rivalry they have had for the past few months.

As the poster above me said, having Lawler win this match leaves the other 6 to participate in a highly competitive Elimination Chamber match to determine the #1 contender for the WWE Championship for WrestleMania. A battle royal is not a standard match, it's a match in which anyone has a legitimate chance of winning and make it look like a fluke. For instance, even though Cena was eliminated, he turned around and helped Lawler eliminate Sheamus by pulling the top rope down after Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick.

John Morrison gave a great performance tonight, another standout performance in a big match setting with high stakes. Having him win the Raw Rumble tonight and then go on to the Elimination Chamber ppv only to lose to The Miz wouldn't have done him any favors at this time. If anybody takes the title off Miz in the near future, it's going to be John Cena. The WWE wants a big match feel for Mania and John Cena vs. The Miz can deliver that. JoMo has already lost, cleanly I might add, to The Miz for the WWE Championship on the first Raw of 2011. He had a fantastic showing for himself and is just one of a number of great performances he's had in matches with big consequences. Morrison isn't going to wind up schuffled back down to the lower mid-card area where he was 6 months ago. He's far too over with the fans and, as I said, has shown he can do extremely well in big match situations and feuds.

With Morrison competing in the Elimination Chamber, he has any number of justifiable reasons for not winning. It's a match in which no standard rules apply and can be taken out any number of ways that won't cause his stock to go down.

Here's my prediction.....if there's a Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania, this will be Morrison's moment....he'll emerge winner and be the number one contender and have his pickings for which title he wants

Reason why he won is because Jerry can't last in an elimination chamber. If he is in the chamber there is no way they can script him not getting the living crap beat out of him and he would make the match boring.. now u got a decent match with him and miz with most likely interference from cole to set up something between cole and lawler at wrestlemania and you get morrison who is a pure entertainer in the chamber

The reason he didn't win is simple, because Elimination Chamber is an absolutely stupid, pointless, unneeded, waste of a PPV. There should NEVER be a PPV between RR and Mania, but since Vince is greedy the writers are forced to come up with a series of matches that don't spoil the big ones for Mania, but also allow the storylines to move forward. Putting any of the main event level guys in there with Miz wasn't go do anyone any favors since we all know damn well it's Miz/Cena at Mania, so this gives Jerry some screen time (with the obvious outcome of Cole screwing Jerry over in the match, which will set up a match for Lawler/Cole at Mania) and keeps Miz looking like a cowardly heel champ until Super Cena wipes the floor with him to make all the kiddies happy at Mania.

Unrelated side note: how exactly did the GM determine who would be the 7 people in this Raw Rumble that occurred tonight? It certainly wasn't the most deserving based on Rumble eliminations or Santino should have been in there in place of Morrison. ;-p

Lawler has no business in a WWE title match on PPV, even Flair didn't get that in his second run, but it was obvious from the opening on that Lawler was going to win.

Personally I think the booking over the last 24 hours has been dreadful, but basically I'm just waiting until after Mania now when hopefully JoMo gets his chance. At least he was easily the star of the match tonight despite not winning.

I've got two words about John Morrison. He's ready. He's ready for the main event picture. He's ready for a title run. This guy has more than enough talent to make it and he's proven that. I'm still in awe about the Rumble. What he did, could have gone wrong on so many levels and to nail it like he did was unreal. Miz vs Morrison would be an amazing Wrestlemania match. Hell, I still think that Morrison should have won the Rumble and not Del Rio. Del Rio has done little to impress me and I feel he's not ready yet. They're just doing another JBL with Del Rio and that's not a good thing.

But really The Miz going into 'Mania as champ is already pretty much set in stone, regardless of who he faces at EC. There is still a ways to go and Morrison may yet have a meaningful match at mania.

All I can say regarding Morrison, is patience pays off. Ask Chris Jericho, it took him the longest time to get to the top...aswell as Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero. I will start worrying more about where Morrison is heading in a couple of years time.

Morrison is mid-card for life. He's just a generic happy mid-card babyface attraction for the casual fans. He's Raw's version of Kofi Kingston. He would make a terrible world champion.

It actually works out best that Jerry won I think.

They've been booking Miz as a beatable champion for a while now, always getting help one way or another. It was pretty much a known fact that he's going to be defending the title at WM (and looking more and more like vs Cena).

So Cena was out (as it'd be difficult to have him defend vs Cena at EC and then go 1v1 at WM), Sheamus was out (They never do heel v heel), R-Truth was obviously out, and Orton and Punk are penciled in to face each other at WM as well. This left King and Morrison.

Morrison is someone they've been booking as a slow progression in an attempt to make him an even bigger face than he is and to give him a bit more time to develop on the mic. When Morrison gets his shot, I think it'll be as a Royal Rumble winner or MITB. If they drag it out with him getting a shot to contend for it here and there (like he'll have at EC), it'll gives the fans a feeling of emotional investment when he finally gets there and the pop will be huge. Sure, Miz/Morrison has so good history and they've already had a great match this year, but they can push that off for a bit.

The King booking works great. He gets his match at EC where Cole stops him from winning the title again - thereby solidifying Miz as a "beatable" champion - and turns into a King v Cole WM match (which gives King a WM match he's never had, and can bring forth a conclusion to this whole "King you cant touch me or youre fired" angle between the two.

Then at WM, after a great build up with solid promos by each of them,Miz can cleanly beat Cena on the biggest stage there is - solidifying himself as a legit main eventer for years to come.


I like it, and I think it's going to work out great.

Even if they did give Morrison the World Championship 75% of the ones who lobbied for him to be World Champ would complain. There is no win when it comes to wrestling these days, you could put the World Heavyweight Championship on Daniel Bryan, have him make Triple H tap out 3 times in one night aswell as watch Daniel Bryan have a live sex show with the Bella Twins....the IWC would still complain.

Morrison is going to win either at Elimination Chamber or he'll win MITB this year. He is just way too over with the fans for Creative to deny him any longer. He will be champ by the end of the year.

Giving Jerry the shot at EC gives him a chance to have a good match with Miz and lead into a Jerry/Cole matchup at WM.

There is no doubt in my mind Morrison WILL be a world champion in 2011. That being said I have no problem with Lawler winning this over Morrison. Morrison is being booked as someone who is always close but never can quite win the big one, what this is doing is building anticipation for when he finally becomes champ. Imagine the reaction when Morrison finally wins the World title!! The crowd will go absoulutely nuts, as will I. Morrison has proven he is an amazing athlete and quite deserving of the Big Belt and it WILL happen this year!! Patients my fellow Morrison fans, makes it all the more better when it finally happens.

Okay so a lot of us dont like how the Raw Rumble was booked so heres your chance to book it your way.

What I would of done... When Ted came out asking King for his spot, he should of delivered a Dream Street to king on on the floor leading to King being out for the Rumble. When the rumble started have Ted eliminate R Truth first then Orton right after he takes out Punk (we all know Randy and Teds history). Then Cena could of took out Sheamus while Ted tossed him over from behind. After a few minutes have Ted get eliminated by Morrison.

This way Morrison and Miz could have had a title match at the EC. Ted could beat King the following week to look strong heading into the EC. Just like that Ted could of been relevant again and if theres a MITB everyone would think it would come down to Christian, Dibiase and Morrison at WM.

So what do you guys think of my booking how would you have booked it?

Personally, I'm starting to think that sooner or later, it will be too late to give Morrison the WWE title. His pops have been dwindling (probably because he hasnt won anything in a while and the crowd loves winners other than the few sympathetic cases and Morrison is not one of them). His entrance on tonights RAW barely got any reaction whatsoever even though it was only 24 hours after his performance in the Royal Rumble.

As big a fan as I am of John Morrison, unless he comes 2nd in the chamber, his "momentum" would be destroyed, as the live crowd has began to stop caring :/
The "anticipation build-up" towards the first world championship DOES NOT always work.
