The Evenflow Effect
Jericho is tarnishing his own legacy a bit by coming back for these short stints and becoming the "main event jobber".
I've been a Jerichoholic since his time in WCW in 1998. I've been a huge mark for him for a long time. But the last time he was relevant was in early 2012 with his feud with CM Punk for the WWE Championship.
He has since:
- Put over CM Punk
- Put over Dolph Ziggler
- Put over Fandango
- Put over Bray Wyatt
After CM Punk, that's not exactly the most impressive group of guys. Jury still out on Wyatt, but the fact that everyone knows he just came back to put the guy over means that the rub doesn't mean much.
Jericho needs to be pushes as a legitimate star in order to maintain his status as a main eventer every time he comes back. The best way for him to do this is to get back in the title picture, or feud with Cena. Maybe even win the title again. But we all know that won't happen, neither Jericho or WWE want it, so unfortunately at this point this is the best it's going to get for Jericho.
