Who will be the first to reach or break Ric Flairs record?

lol funny mention u have there well I guess we can argue that the WCW international title is now considered the WCW title

Which would give Flair 10 wcw world title riegns, So in all essence he is a 22 time world champ, i guess PWI and everyone else who is keeping record belives the same that wrestling fan does along with the controversial reigns because i am not sure if pwi reconizes Flairs Japan wins? does ny one knoe if they do

u make a very good point which would mean why would they only recognize 16 rather than the rest unless their was a period that they didn't recognize by the PWI

All this talk of title history has really got me in the mood to research a bunch of shit lol I didn't even know until tonight what the WCW International World Heavyweight Title was lmao Anyways, if Flair does infact have an offical 22 title reigns, it's a slim chance that anyone will catch up to that considering the closest person (Jeff Jarrett) is 10 titles away. If the record is officially looked at as 16 then it is still very possible that someone can and will surpass him. Either way, we have to look at the realism of proffessional wrestling and realize that it is infact scripted and the writers/owners of the individual companies can give someone any amount of title reigns they want. I mean, even WWE could give Santino 20 title reigns within a few months if they really wanted to. (THAT WAS A JOKE!) Let's just hope whoever is chosen to break the record ends up being the right guy!

WOW. This is literally 14 pages of either spam or completely off topic stuff. All of you, reread our rules and do not do this again.

If someone wants to redo this thread, please do. Just follow the rules or put it in an appropriate area.

Moved to the spam zone and unlocked. There's some good stuff in here, but now you can spam to your little hearts content.

Lol yeah but it looks like we still got a damn point taken.. that was my first point tooo, kinda makes u wonder y u try to get good rep

You guys aren't even trying to discuss the topic anymore?

Well, i'd say John Cena.

Discuss this shit.

Dude we got into great detail on who we think it is and exactly how many titles he has, and the concinence is that it will probly be Jarret who gets to 16 because he has 15 already, but probly no-one will get to his 22 world title reigns... but for sake of argument it will probly be HHH, if it isnt jarret

but, i could see Edge trading the title back in fourth for a while before he goes, i doubt it but he may get close just to keep TNA on their toes, and Vince trying to make sure they dont beat him to tying the record.

Jarrett? A washed up old guy who can't draw anymore?

Or Triple H, the guy who isn't in a rush to come back because the WWE is on a huge youth kick?

John Cena is your boy.

I agree HH or Jarret shouldnt get it, and I agree that it should be Cena but jarret has 15 titles and HH has 12 or 13, so i think one of them wil beat Cena

I honestly think it will be John Cena (like I said in the first post). But really, if either company wanted, they could easily give it to Jarrett or Triple H. Next to The Undertaker's Wrestlemania Streak, Ric Flairs "16" World Title Reigns are the most talked about record in proffessional wrestling. You have to believe that whoever breaks it will have Ric Flair's blessing which will most likely mean it will be someone deserving.

Ok so I did some more research and now I'm not entirely sure if the IWPG Heavyweight Title is considered a World Title. Also, Kurt Angle's reign as PPW Heavyweight Champion (Power Pro Wrestling) is what brings him to 13 world title reigns. But if the IWPG and the PPW Heavyweight Titles don't count, then Kurt Angle is an 11 time World Champion.

My next point is that while I was doing research I discovered that the current active and prominent World Titles are:

1. WWE Championship
2. World Heavyweight Championship (WWE)
3. TNA World Heavyweight Championship
4. NWA World Heavyweight Championship
5. ROH World Heavyweight Championship

This goes to show that the ROH World Heavyweight Title is infact recognized as a World Title. This means that for example, CM Punk is considered a 5 time world champion (ROH-1, ECW-1, WWE's World Title-3). It also means Daniel Bryan (Danielson), Kaval (Low Ki) Homicide, Desmond Wolfe (Nigel McGuiness) and Seth Rollins (Tyler Black) are all former World Champions.

I also found that that ECW World Title is considered a world title from August 27, 1994-February 16, 2010 (Ezekiel Jackson wins and retires title).

The defunct titles that are recognized as World Titles are:

1. AWA World Heavyweight Championship
2. ECW World Heavyweight Championship
3. WCW World Heavyweight Championship
4. WCW International World Heavyweight Championship

Really, I'm pretty confused on what is actually considered a World Title but what I got out of all this is that these 9 titles are the main recognized World Titles in proffessional wrestling. Here's the link (I got most from wikipedia) if you want to look at it.

Ok it will most likely be triple h or edge or cena. it wont be taker or sting because those to are to old and are near the end of there careers
