As we all know by now, Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston are the new WWE Tag Team Champions. This is exciting because it's two high flying guys that can get the crowd into their matches and are both ultimate babyfaces. I don't think I've ever heard either of these guys get booed on their entrances.
That being said, though, do you think they're going to stick around as tag champs? They're most likely transitional champs, but seeing as how they seem to have solid chemistry I wouldn't have any complaints if the WWE would let them stick together for a while (by WWE standards, "a while" for a thrown together tag team like this is 6+ months) and retain the titles a few times. They need to lose them eventually, though. Whether they lose them at Night of Champions or hold the titles for a long time and don't lose them until Wrestlemania or even later, who do you see as the next logical tag champs?
My vote went to Rhodes+Dibiase. I would love to see them get a big run on Smackdown, getting as much screen/mic time as Orton and Christian have gotten over the last few months. This not only elevates Rhodes, as he would hold both the Tag and IC titles at the same time, but it makes DiBiase look more credible and can be the first of many steps to slowly build him back up as a legitimate contender in the WWE. Nobody wants to see DiBiase get Future Endeavored. Another great aspect that could come out of this is a Rhodes/Orton storyline where Rhodes wants to "complete the collection", so to speak, by adding the World Title to his Tag+IC titles and become the first person in history to hold all three at the same time. Whether Rhodes would actually go over Orton in the long run is a different story, but it'd be a very cool angle in my opinion.
