Who Cried During Ric Flair's Fairwell Speech?

Fine. We get that you don't like Flair and you're glad that he's retiring. Thanks for clearing that up. :headscratch:

As someone who's watched Flair for nearly all of his career, I'm sad that he is retiring. However, having watched him the last several years, it was certainly long overdue.

Will the last few years of his career tarnish his legend? To the younger folks perhaps a little, but I'll remember the Flair that went to 90 minute time limit draws or was the leader of the Horsemen much more than the shell that he has been.

To me, Ric Flair is professional wrestling. Not Lou Thesz, Hulk Hogan, Sting or any other name that anyone wants to throw out there. All were great in their own right, but for my :twocents:, the Nature Boy is the man.

Flame away, if you wish, but I got choked up watching Raw this week and I gladly admit it.

I like Flair. But he's shit, and has been for years. He used to be great, but most of that will be forgotten. Most people will remember the terrible old wrestler that ''retired'' a week ago.

The ending was a fitting send off. I didn't cry because I don't know the old man. If I did cry it would be because the old man has finaly stopped wrestling badly.

I don't mind it. Ric Flair deserve a nice send off, for everything he did for the business from 1976 - 1993. Since then, meh.

Im not sure why thta made people cry. Especially the night after the MATCH.

It really par for the course as far as send off ceremonies.Thats how they do all of them, I dont see why everyone thinks this one was so great. Thats how they do it all the time...

Like Jake said, why would I cry? Sure Flair is cool and all but I dont want to see him wrestle....even my dad who doesnt even watch wrestling DOESNT want to see him wrestle....he is like the wrestler version of Vince McMachon in fact they are both pretty much the same now...isnt Flair like 58? Just give him a corporate job and he wont have to worry about paying bills.

That is a down right stupid comment, if your dad doesn't even watch wrestling then of course he's not going to want to see Flair wrestle, why would he want to see anyone wrestle if he doesn't watch wrestling?

Justin, I was at a Ducks hockey game when Wrestlemania was going on, my sisters and bro-in laws were watching Mania at my house and my dad was in the living room while they were watching it...its his tv, his house, thus he was wathcing it with them. I was just saying that even he could tell that Flair was out of shape. It was a good match from what I heard but what I was actually referring to was the Raw match between McMahon and Flair....hope that clears it up.

Ric Flair DESERVES the utmost of respect for what he's acomplished. Which brings me to what Scott Steiner said in his idiotic detribe about refering to Ric as "garbage". Scott Steiner is a midcard steroid ridden piece of garbage. His body's slowly falling apart and it's only a matter of time. I take no merit whatsoever in what a third rate idiot like Steiner says. Ric Flair has forgotten more about professional wrestling than Scott has even begun to know. And his comment on Ric NOT being able to draw? That's baloney because Ric Flair has drawn in more ratings than any show he hasnt been on. Oh and I dont see them making a Scott Steiner dvd. Why waste their time on trash from a muscleheaded goof? That's my take on it. Scott Steiner you're an idiot. Ric Flair the legend forever.

Scott Steiner late 80's into the early 90's was a hundred times the in ring worker then Ric Flair ever could have hoped to have been. Steiners amateur background speaks for itself, and the ability to do something besides Chop and Wooo doesn't hurt either.

Steiner said what a lot of people feel, the New Kliq of Michaels, Triple H and Flair suck and are vastly over rated. Steiner is smarter then Flair because Steiner says that Hogan is better then Flair, something that Flair even recognizes but refuses to accept.

They're not making a Scott Steiner DVD because he works for TNA, much like why they aren't making a best of Sting DVD. Ric Flair, over rated is my take on it.

How come most people say Flair is the best ever. Yet the only great matches of Flairs they've been exposed to are the ones on The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection? You can't really judge somebody as being the best if you've only seen 7 great matches, and a Rumble.

Watch all his other matches.

Albiet, not all of them are great but the majority are very good.

I was very emotionaly involved with Flairs rairwell speech but I never cried.

Im just going to touch upon the subject of Flairs wrestling ability and what Steiner has said.

I for one don't see Flair as the greatest ever. Reasons:

If your basing that on his wrestling ability, there have certainly been better Wrestlers out there. Ricky Steamboat, Bret Hart, Samartino, Dynamite Kid etc.

If your basing it on his charisma, there have been Wrestlers who beat him hands down. Hogan, Rock, Jesse Ventura etc.

If your basing it on drawing power, then I've ot one name: HOGAN. Actualy Ive got a second: SAMARTINO.

If your basing it on what he's done for the industry, there are far more important people out there.
Hogan made Wrestling popular, Vince made wrestling accessible to the WORLD, Heyman was THE guy who started the attitude era (as it was his style and angles WWE copied), Terry Funk put over and built up more guys than ANYBODY else and I mean ANYBODY, that is not even arguable, Bishoff started the the greatest period in wrestling history (Monday Night Wars).

As for Steiners comments, how can anybody say he is talking bullshit? Non of us on this site have been backstage, let alone in the same room as Steiner and Flair so how do we know what happend? Flair hasn't commented on these claims by Steiner, is that because he can't dispute them?

Look I don't know, but I still say that there is no smoke without fire and Steiner has no reason to start laying into other guys for no reason. He doesnt need the publicity, hes not making any money from it, its not going to further benefit his career...

:headscratch:
