Where in the world is...Scott Steiner?

There was a report that he is sitting out his contract, waiting for release. He and Hogan apparently don't get along at all and he's basically done in TNA.

I have been holding off on writing in this thread for awhile but I feel as though the time is right. I have no clue where Scott Steiner is and I miss he to be completely honest. Sure he is a shell of his former self but that happens when you get older. The man is still very good at a few things including talking on a microphone and brawling.

Steiner has always been one of my favorite guys to listen to on the mic. His promos have always been very good and at the same time incredible random. It reminds me of a somewhat modern day Ultimate Warrior. He can ramble of the most random shit and the crowd begins to laugh which is really the point of a Scott Steiner promo and always has been. If you can enjoy one thing about the man it should be his promos.

Secondly, he is still decent in the ring given the right scenarios. In hardcore matches or anything without real rules he can still be great. The less actual wrestling the better he is especially with that bad back.

Point is, I miss Scott Steiner and am anxiously anticipating his return to TNA in any sort of capacity be it wrestler or commentator, which I think he could excel at just look back at when he did commentary for the MEM. His best days are obviously past but he can still contribute some things to TNA.

I think Steiner is just taking a much deserved break from action. HHH, Undertaker, and HBK do it every year, and no one says anything. Steiner is getting up there in age, and has nothing to prove to anyone, so if he wants a few weeks off, let him have it.

If/when he comes back, I'm sure it will be in a small time fued, or even as a mentor, as he was with Petey. He's great on the mic, so anytime he appears, it's guaranteed to make you laugh.

Scott Steiner is amazing, in a ridiculous sort of way. I imagine at his age, and with the strain his ridiculous physique must put on his frame, he probably needs a bit of time to wind down from the ring a little bit, and there's no better time than now with all of everything else happening. I imagine he will return with a bit of pizazz and join The Band, and may even share their primary focus alongside Kevin Nash. I don't know, but I'm sure he'll be back soon enough.

Scott Steiner has a part-time contract, so he is probably resting.

Steiner is the best wrestler on the mic in the history of TNA, is a shame that he is not the same wrestler in the ring, that he was in the Steiner Brothers.

I'm missing me some Steiner. He usually cuts a funny promo and had an entertaining feud with Bobby Lashley, until they got in the ring. I didn't care much for that. If he could be in some role where he just cuts hilarious promos every show and that would be great. Give him a show like The Cutting Edge or The Highlight Reel. He could be funny without having to get in the ring.

I don't know if I've completely missed something, maybe I missed the news report that he was injured or the spoiler that says he will be appearing next week or something.

But is it completely weird that Big Poppa Pump has virtually no role in TNA right now. Considering they put the "Band" back together, and are pumping in the WCW/WWF guys of the past...where is Steiner?

in other news, I am also looking for Samoa Joe to return to some kind of relavence

Big Poppa Pump is in very bad shape, to the point where he's got to be treated like glass in the ring. The years of steroid and drug abuse have taken a toll on his body, adding to that the bumps he has taken over the years with bulky muscle acting as solid cement to his bones and joints all this time.

But it is definitely funny we've not even seen a backstage visit from him between Hulk, Bischoff, and even Nash and Hall. White Lightning got over back in WCW because of what he did with NWO, so, yes, it doesn't make any sense that they haven't atleast reminded people of the relationship.

He doesn't have to be in the ring to make an appearance during a promo, or participate in a backstage beatdown.

But when you think of it this way, the band still really isn't "together". The whole Hogan Vs. TNA angle is just starting, and until Hulk makes that heel turn, I don't really think he has any place; he'd just be a fifth wheel to the Nash/Halll/Waltman group that are trying to get that band back together and constantly harass Hogan over it.

I see him returning as soon as the Angle goes full tilt, or even before that just to add some simmer to the Boil.

I tell you what I love that idea. As many others have said Steiner is hilarious on the mic and TNA should use that.

I think its strange that he hasn't been involved at all and his very existance hasn't even been mentioned, especially with 'The Band' running around.

Either way I really hope we haven't seen the last of Scotty.

I enjoy the Big man in TNA heaps and do miss having him around.

I don't know where he would fit into all the new TNA as he is too established a name to have him just wrestle random matches to fill up time.

Hopefully he is back soon.

So I'm probably the only here that thinks Steiner should never return to TNA at all? I mean, yeah the guy is funny but his style of promo cutting got stale a long time ago for me and personally I don't see any reason why he would even come back to TNA as far as being an active wrestler is concerned.

Now maybe as a third color commentator-that might work. The heel commentator while Taz is the fan fav commentator and Tenay can remain the geeky pbp man.

well looks like hes gone..shame..followed him since i was a kid..gonna miss him..still feel hes way better then the likes of nash and flair..more useful and i have way more respect for him..hes a real wrestler..i saw clips of him doing a back sommersault slam and a 450 splash ..that along with the Steiner Scredriver frankensteiner and those insane suplexes..

thanks scotty for everything!..a legend in my eyes and i felt he didnt get the right send off..

Yep, Steiner's profile has been removed from the TNA website, so it looks like he's done. It's a shame that he wasn't involved with 'The Band' angle. As limited as he has been in the ring, he really did step it up during his last 2 PPV matches. So he could help make up for Hall's limited ability as this point.

You act as if it's the end of the world. Lol. He's not retiring or anything. TNA temporarily removes people from their profile or even give guys their release until they come up with something for them. It happens with Raven and it happened with Scott Steiner before. I can definitely see Scott coming back to TNA. Imo, he still has plenty to offer and lots of unfinished business in TNA, so once they cut off some of the fat in terms of angles and some of the dead weight, I see them using Scotty again.

Thats too bad if he is gone from TNA cause with the new Hogan/Bischoff regime and The Band together he has alot of stuff he can work with from a storyline perspective. I have always been a big Steiner fan and really wish that his health was better and he could go in the ring more. A return to TNA with a new look of all dark hair and stache could be interesting to see. Hope he comes back for at least some sort of final feud/storyline sometime down the road.

PWInsider.com is reporting that Scott Steiner is 100% gone from TNA Wrestling.

Well, I've been waiting to hear this news for a couple years now. FINALLY though!..

While to me it's good news, it does kind of suck that we don't get to hear anymore of his infamous promos again...but oh well. At least we don't get to bare witness his awful matches or watch him stalk a man's wife at the age of 47. I mean MY GOD, you're 47 years old and you're still playing the "Big Bad Booty Daddy" thing? Give me a break..

What's your thoughts on this?

Finally. It felt like TNA was evading this for some reason.he got completely pointless when the mafia broke up.his feud with bobby was barely passable so im happy.i want to know why it took so long for TNA to pull the trigger?

Good God, it's about damn time. His time in the business was long-since over, and I just couldn't help but cringe whenever that steroid-jacking old freak kept coming onto the show. It's just so unnatural. His feud with Bobby was, as said, barely passable. His time in the MEM was basically to say, "Hey look! We old farts are better than the young guns!", he did jack shit with the tag titles except to turn the MEM into Evolution/Four Horses stable that held all the titles.

Can't say that I'm going to lose any sleep over this. I never cared much for Steiner after his last WWE run. Seemed to get really slow and be almost too hurt to really ever work except for the occasional big spot such as the Frankensteiner off the cage. Bout time that he was let go.

Steiner has been shit for about 15 years, so I can't say I am upset to see this happen, to be honest with you. He's sloppy and slow, so it's probably a good thing that he's gone. I must say that it is a little bit weird that they have decided now to get rid of him when he could have been a part of The Band. That being said, they need to make room throughout the company and the near disabled men over 45 should probably be amongst the first out the door.

I am glad he is gone and I agree that he was done over 10 years ago. Just because he is released doesn't he is gone forever. It would not surprise me if he comes back some time later in the year.

Man, I'm about to get slammed but oh well. I think the lack of respect for Scott Steiner is pitiful. I think it speaks for how much the business means to this guy that he's stuck around so long. And he actually is one of the few veterans with real name value that put over alot of the younger guys. He may have really lost a step, but his matches weren't that bad compared to some of the other stuff that is put on TV. Anyone who can supposedly barely walk, but comes to the ring and throws a Frankensteiner!!!????? And he gets bashed for trying to entertain us. I personally think that he wouldn't really fit in in TNA right now, and being released probably is good for both parties. But lets give credit where credit is due. Steiner deserves to be recognized as a hall of famer just on his tag team resume alone. Give Scotty a break guys.

Personally I don't like Scott Steiner, but there have been times where I have enjoyed his heel work over the years. It was time for him to move on because ever since his feud with Lashley ended, he really hasn't been doing anything worth remembering, and has been completely irrelevant in TNA. It seemed like he might be joining forces with Hogan and Bischoff or Hall and Pac, but the more and more I thought about it, he really didn't need to be involved in the storyline going on between them. At least he had a pretty lengthy run with tag team titles before he left.

i'm really glad that he is gone. I haven't been able to stand Scott since he turned on Rick and became the roided out blonde freak that he became. not to mention that after becoming the big bad steriod daddy he seamed a little more prone to injury. but then again i really don't remember the early 90s all that well. I liked him a lot more when he was still young and in the ring with rick

I can't say I didn't see this coming. Steiner's mic work was always good and he could still turn it on in the ring when he wanted to, but his best days were gone. It would have been nice for him to get some kind of on-screen farewell but this release was clearly the best plan of action.
