Where in the world is...Scott Steiner?

EStreet

Pre-Show Stalwart
I don't know if I've completely missed something, maybe I missed the news report that he was injured or the spoiler that says he will be appearing next week or something.

But is it completely weird that Big Poppa Pump has virtually no role in TNA right now. Considering they put the "Band" back together, and are pumping in the WCW/WWF guys of the past...where is Steiner?

in other news, I am also looking for Samoa Joe to return to some kind of relavence

With the recent influx of older guys from WCW and/or WWE, it does seem a little strange that Scott Steiner is nowhere to be seen. However, I probably couldn't care less about Scott Steiner to be honest. I didn't really even notice he hadn't been seen in a while until this thread popped up, which doesn't exactly make Steiner seem all that much of a factor in TNA.

Scott Steiner can still cut some pretty good heel promos but that's just about all he can do. His matches are certainly nothing to write home about and, if the stories of how he's barely able to even get out of a car or get into his gear without help are true, then it's time to pack it in. Steiner's matches have been subpar for a long time and not having him on iMPACT is just one less over the hiller to take up air time.

jack-hammer you had it exactly right. he can still cut a promo but he's too dam old to be wrestlings. they should bring him in they same way they are using flair now with aj. hell bring back pettie williams and make steiner his manager. they tried this gimmick a few years ago and i thought it worked pretty well, also i'd love to see the canadian destroyer back in tna

I had the feeling it was more personal with Scottie Steiner not being on television right now. We know he's no friend of Ric Flair and I didn't think he cared for Hogan at all.

However, it would be nice to have him in TNA right now. How often do we get to relieve our entire childhood through pro wrestling? Not often.

ah The Big Bad Booty Daddy ill always have a soft spot for this legend i beleve the last time we saw him on Impact was when he was trying to get new Main Event Mafia stuff made and the designers was explaining to hime MEM we no more then he lost it and demanded she make them, since the he's been completely written off TV without so much as a wisper im guessing since his program with Lashley ended either TNA have run out of ideas for him or quiet simply his body cant take no more, i don't know what edrives Scott is it the moeny, his passion, both or somthing else i think that just for his well being its time to hang up the boots even though i still love to listen too a Steiner promo, hear that music and see the Franen-Steiner i fear for his well being, i hope he's taking a substantial period of time of to resersh himself if he plans to get back in the ring, but id love to see him in a postion of power within TNA (Story only of cause) im sure we'll see in time but if this is it for Big Papa Pump let him have a send off let him come out throw those old sacks Hall & Pac out of the ring and give his speech to the fans with one las Holla If Ya Hear Me!

I dunno, I miss Steiner actually, what with Scott Hall and Sean Waltman running around, the guy is golden on the mic, not always intentionally golden but he's entertaining just the same. I still reckon he's the funniest person in TNA at the moment.

His matches really aint bad either, they're not fantastic but they are certainly passable, sometimes good. He can still go if you ask me. Hopefully he comes back soon, at least Steiner still looks like he can wrestle, which is more than what we can say for Scott Hall.

i had read that he has been backstage for several shows. maybe they can't find something for him to do? or have a storyline for him? i honestly can't see him being able to do much in the ring anymore. he has really declined over the years. i read from several outlets that he can barely walk and takes like 10 minutes just to get in a car.

i do agree with the promos. he wasn't really that great.

and it's safe to say he is pretty out of shape. i know he still looks roided up, but it's almost like the rest of his body is sagging with age.

dont forget scott steiner has had some health problems over the past few years, the guy can not wrestle, his wwe days where crap, and he was only good when he was with petey williams

I'm really not surprised that Scott Steiner is not around because I have read several reports that at times he can barely move around and he needs about an hour just to loosen himself up before a match. He may be taking some time off to see about healing those nagging injuries although I don't see it happening as he is 'roided up beyond belief or is my vision playing tricks on me?

I agree with something else said on this thread that Samoa Joe right now has no relevance on TNA TV. He is a TNA original and has always been a top guy but ever since Hogan came in, and even before that, he was not much of a factor. TNA does NOT want to lose him. He is such an unusual competitor with him being 280 pounds and so agile. That also leads me to wonder where Daniels is. They need to get these guys involved somehow.

Poppa Pump is still more entertaining on the mic than AJ Styles..lol TNA is in trouble still only drawing 1.3 in ratings. The young talent sucks how can you main event a PPV with no bodies like Aj Styles vs Samoa Joe I am not ordering that shit. I have been watching TNA forever giving them a chance and they are just not going to make it. All the young guys there are high spot wrestling. Aj Daniels and fat sluggish Joe cannot carry a story and on the mic is laughable. Eric Young boring. Jay Lethal and Creed god get real. They are pushin Aj down our throats to get him to be a believable champ for all the new fans who dont know who he is. They need to get sting down from the rafters and fued with AJ. That way win or loose AJ is fighting someone mainstream who new and old fans know. You remember the new fans were brought here by hogan they are from that era TNA go mainstream. Having Joe vs Styles main event a ppv will not gain any interest at all. Nor will it do anythign for AJ. the new fans will just see AJ beat another no name guy. AJ has turned heel after sting supported him and now has even sided with Flair one of Sting biggest enemies on screen........I like TNA and I want to give them a chance and have for years but I see the holes in the company. Boring young talent who are averag at best in the ring and suck on the mic. Then you got alot of older guys who are great on the mic but lack the ring skills to compete week to week.

ECW was so far ahead of TNA at this point. ECW was on SPike when they were TNN. As TNN they were not pushing a programing for guys ad campaign its to bad ECW would have been perfect. ECW had guys like Raven,Team 3D,RVD,Awesome, and others who were interesting characters. They could also wrestle somewhat. Which is 50% of what wrestling is the other 50 is entertainment. DO they now breed the young guys to entertain us anymore? Hogan and Austin to of the biggest stars were entertainers not wrestlers why doesnt anyone pick up on this? TNA is shoving high spot wrestling down our throats and that didnt work. Now Hogan and Bishoff are trying the other way entertainment but TNA has no young guys who can entertain.

Oh yeah and Raven!!! Go to youtube and look up Raven promo's the guy can still go in the ring and can cut a promo better than anyone in TNA. Why isnt he used more? He is an interesting character. Do we really have see fat Samoa Joe sloth around the ring against Aj?

What is interesting about any young TNA talent? Nothing thats why Flair is being stuck with AJ to make him watchable. Trust me AJ WWE doesnt have interest in you anyway. There is a reason why WWE isnt raiding TNA talent and everyone did ECW. Its because TNA has no talent outside of high spot wrestling

Scotty has been having mayor back pain since August. He's been working through it diligently. He must be resting as he hasn't been seen since the Last Man Standing Match with Lashley at Final Resolution.

As for Samoa Joe, he was also repordedly in some minor pain, so they have his appearances at a minimal. Expect him back soon.

I was totally expecting for the Band to be the new MEM but since Big Poppa Pump hasn't shown up yet this year this unfortunately doesn't look like it'll ever happen. My guess is that Steiner probably was due for some time off, especially since after feuding with Lashley he didn't have anything else going on. I would expect to see him at or right after the next PPV though talking crazy.

Big Poppa Pump will probably pop up in the near future soon enough. There's a lot going on in TNA right now. You have Hogan,Angle,AJ's heel turn, the return and uncertain future of Hall and Waltamn, and many other things going on in the mid card, including the arrival of Mr.Anderson. Throw in the Knockouts, and there really isn't any room for him right now. I think Steiner will be inserted into the storyline between Hogan,Nash, Hall, and Waltman, but not right now. When things further develop, we'll probably see him again.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. I was on the TNA Video Vault and they showed an ad for Against All Odds that had him in it, and I instantly though " where is he? ". Then I realized, he's an older guy, has major back issues, and probably needs some time to rest, as pulling out those frankensteiners have probably been hurting him. Hopefully he comes back, if he should be released or retire, I wish him the best of luck in whatever he does after TNA.

what i really think is that scott will get the boot from TNA and that will be good for him cause i really think that he needs to retired

You guys are nuts. Scott Steiner can barely speak. His promos have ALWAYS sucked.

you got it right!!! he always messes up what he says. he has one good move, and he messes that up to.. his other best move is using the pipe LOL.. so no loss for TNA if he ever leaves..

Steiner was great. He still depending how you look at it is good on the mic as well just if you understand what he is going for. I saw someone mention that he isnt friends with hogan or flair which could be a huge reason. Plus honestly he didnt have much ring work left. There were stories of him being in extreme pain after matchs where he barely took any bumps. I give him credit for sticking it out but it was and is probably time where he steps back for a bit and recovers before even thinking of comming back to a ring.

Also note for the whole Joe revelance. Do you call him main eventing with AJ at the next ppv revelance? If not then hey thats cool but I would consider it a huge spotlight on joe. Read the impact spoilers and you will see that he is in a fued with AJ and is gonna be facing him at the ppv. Hes the only guy right now I wouldnt mind seeing take the belt from AJ. Yet its a hard choice since the flair/aj thing is just taking off to.

All I can say is that Steiner can still go if need be. Just watch the match from Bound For Glory 2009. He was actually better than I have seen him in years in that match. Last I heard, he was hurt though, wasn't he? Too bad to because him in "The Band", still a horrid name, could have been cool. Gefore anyone blasts me on this though, if you think about it, Steiner was actually the one guy that was na original WCW guy that really made an impact in the nWo so him being a part of the group would have worked out well. Too bad he's hurt though.

I seem to remember a post about a month or so ago stating Scotty was injured in that last Lashley match. I could be wrong though. Still, whatever the case I hope if they do get rid of him he at least gets a chance to give a little farewell address. The mans accomplished enough in his career to at least get that much.

Scott Steiner hasn't been even passable since the early 2000's at the LATEST! He can't cut a promo worth a damn. He get's ahead of himself, basically making himself sound like he's memorized everything he's about to say. His back barely bends. He looks like a 2x4 in the ring. The dude was pretty talented in his time, and thanks to all of those steroids, he rose higher than Rick. I never got the hype behind him. Maybe it's all of those throws and suplexing that get people behind him because he's "just like a japanese guy." He's not. But overall, he needs to retire. He looks and sounds sad.

I thought I heard that steiner was injured by lashley at their last incounter but now I'm not sure, Maybe the fact is he's ready to retire and most wrestlers planning on retirement generally don't compete that much (which may mean that Undertaker and sting are close to retirement but as for michaels, mabye not considering he competes on about every show or cuts a promo). anyway my estimate is one of two things, Injured or about to hang up hthe boots.

How many of you people have actually been watching TNA and seen Steiner lately? I think most of you are just basing your opinions based on the "reports" that he can barley move. Personally I think he has been really good in the ring in TNA. I cant recall seeing a single Big Poppa Pump match where I thought he was struggling. I personally enjoy Steiner both in the ring and on the mic, and I hope he will be back soon. I was hoping he would join up with the band, since he was considered one of the nWo elite, and I had assumed they would be the new MEM instead of calling them "the band" which I think is kinda stupid.

The Scott Steiner hate is ridiculous. Stop reading reports and use your own eyes. Those same reports saying he can barely walk and get in the car are exaggerated. The guy is a freaking wrestler. If he can't move or walk, why would he be in the ring doing Frankensteiners and running ropes?

Anyway, Steiner is an asset to TNA. He puts over young talent, he's known by most wrestling fans, he's entertaining, he's great to look at, he puts an effort into his matches. Stop the Steiner hate. This forum wants to hate on mostly anyone that is "old" just because they're "old". If you gave me a choice of Orlando Jordan and Scott Steiner, I'd pick Steiner.

Perhaps he is wandering around backstage being the only member of the Main Event Mafia? He IS technically still a member of it after all, the ONLY member but still.... I think we'll eventually see him join The Band since he was a part of the nWo. Either that, or he'll start up some random filler feud with a newcomer that he will put over in the end. We haven't seen the last of Steiner because he is still a good draw and TNA will keep him on the roster since people still want to see his matches.

i find myself agreeing with "Rated_R_Superstar2010", steiner wosnt too great last time i saw him in the ring, guys like aj run rings around him but bring back petey williams and have him in a manegerial role, bringing x-division guys up to the plate for the world championship starting with striner as manager for petey... could work
