back around the time when they were all masked, a lot of people "knew" who was behind the masks. everyone knew it was Luke Gallows, Mike Knox, Chris Masters, Konan, Matt Morgan, Joey Ryan, Jay Bradley, and many more. the one night when they ended the show with chaos there were like 50 guys masked. there were so many names being thrown around, it wasn't surprising when it was some of them. but there were also surprises. nobody expected Devon or Taz. not that they are big surprises, but still a surprise.

Taz and Devon were more like facepalm surprises though. Not anywhere near the level of what the nWo were doing.

I know it's hard to compete with an angle that was near perfect(at least in the first year) like the nWo but still you have to make an effort to at least be coherent. And if you can't beat concepts like the nWo as fas as surprises(cause WCW had much more money to buy anybody) you can at least make an effort to be more innovative and attempt something different and I don't think A/8 was challenging and different enough beyond their initial attack on Sting. We still don't know why they banded together beyond helping Bully win the title.
