What are three things you would change to make WWE better?

1. Unify the WWE/World and the US/Intercontintental Titles. They have already unified the Tag Titles and the Women's Titles. No seems to have missed the two championships. A Mid-Card title means more if there is more competition for it. Keep CM Punk away from the world title for at least a year. Cena did, Punk can too. The PPV's were dead last year with Punk as champ. Heck, he didn't even headline the PPV's as champ most of the time.

2. Give some TV time to some of the talent on the roster that we never see. (i.e. Dibiase, Mason Ryan, Joe Henning, etc.) If they can't cut it, then get rid of them and get someone else. Last week's raw was 90% Punk, Cena and the Shield and that's way too much time for five guys.

3. Reduce the number of PPVs by half. PPV's were so much better when they were every few months. One a month is too many. The quality of the PPV is not much better than a regular raw or smackdown. Also it gives WWE more time to promote the PPV's and maybe develop some compelling matches/storylines.

4. Air Smackdown live. No one watches it on Fridays. They read the results like I do. The show will be more compelling if we didn't already know what happened? If you can't get a Tuesday night slot then move the live show to Friday.

1. Smaller rosters- WWE has a abd habit of bringing up guys from develop who are far from ready to be members of the main roster. This results in not only time being wasted from programming trying to get them over, but time wasted that could be used in helping that particular superstar perfect their craft. Keeping the rosters small allows creative to focus on already established talent and significant storylines.

2. Better storylines- Did you notice something about the dialogue on RAW this past Monday? It was horrible. Almost cringe worthy if you're a good writer like myself. The Rock's promos for the past couple of weeks have also lacked their usual eloquence and significance. This is a horrible trend that I dont see ending any time soon in the WWE. And its not just individual segments, its storylines as a whole. When Rock vs Cena could've been one of the greatest rivalries due to the ammo both had against each other: Cena's asskissing to Vince and Rock's absence from the WWE it instead became about Twitter and fruity pebbles. I'd make rivalries personal and segments would hold significance to the rivarly.

3. More creative control for superstars- The most successful superstars are those that are allowed to be themselves. From SCSA to CM Punk, authenticity goes great miles in the WWE. I'd make sure superstars are playing characters they're comfortable playing.

1. Restructure the Title heirarchy

  • WWE Championship - For the absolute top guys in the company
  • Intercontinental Championship - The #2 title for the guys who the company is high on, but not ready to be WWE Champion. Generally wrestlers would move up to WWE Title level whenever a fresh contender or champion is needed.
  • European Championship (or a newly created WWE Television Title) - For the pure midcarders that WWE doesn't present as being a "big deal".
  • Also I would like to add a newly created "gimmick" championship (i.e. Hardcore/Cruiserweight/X-Division type of deal), contested under Falls Count Anywhere/No DQ rules and tailored towards specific types of wrestlers: brawlers (Sheamus/Wade Barrett), high flyers (Justin Gabriel), and otherwise aggressive or "high energy" (Alex Riley) types.

2. Push the midcard. Let the midcarders have their own storylines and feuds with each other instead of simply being jobbers to the main eventers or the Flavor of the Month. I would make sure that EVERY wrestler from the top of the card to the bottom is over and credible, so that when they do job, it means something.

3. I would tone down the house shows, and change the house show format, and have the matches taped. The taped house shows would become the new "C-shows", replacing Superstars and Main Event and feature a healthy mix of main event and midcard talent.

1. Split Smackdown and RAW as entirely different entities.
2. Eliminate filler such as Divas mtches and horrible would-be comedy segments in which mid-carders embarrass themselves.
3. Tell the censors to go to hell and have more of a freedom to get away with much of that they did during the attitude era.

um...WE ARE NOT IN THE ATTITUDE ERA. Maybe its time to move on? Realistically, I'd argue there is better depth in the current roster. Of course in the Rock/Austin era there was a top 6 or so but there was a huge gulf in quality thereafter. We don't have that anymore. Late 90's the WWE championship went from Austin to Rock back to Austin than back to Rock. Than HHH got in the mix. Kane/Mankind/Show had brief reigns, even Taker, and that isn't what we have now. There are many credible world champions in the current roster. Moreover, there are two world titles so a brand-extension makes sense. There needs to be a showcase of all the talent rather than the same shit on Raw and than 4 days later on Smackdown.
.

um..I NEVER SAID WE WERE IN THE ATTITUDE ERA. I just said imagine what a Brand Extension would have been like back then. There were more stars from 1999-2001, then there are right now....The brand extension made sense in 2002, but not now....

My first post... and it happens to be in this thread. Let's give this a shot; three things I think would make WWE better?

Championship(s)
Unify the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the... WWE World Heavyweight Championship? WWE (World Heavyweight) Championship? When this is done, call it the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Yeah... one ultimate goal, not two supposedly equal ultimate goals. It's ridiculous how one is meant to represent a 'brand' of the same promotion. Even when the extension was feigned authentic, it was ridiculous. Title reigns no longer hold much kayfabe significance when one could lose a "world" championship, simply switch 'brands' and win a different "world" championship. Besides, how do you have two "world" champions at the same time, in the same division?

Also, unify the United States Heavyweight Championship and Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship, again. When I become involved in a fictional universe I enjoy continuity and some resemblance of logic/rationale. The Intercontinental Championship was meant to be a unification of the old WWF North American Heavyweight Championship and some fictionally recognized South American Heavyweight Championship. The U.S. Heavyweight Championship was meant to be a secondary 'other brand' title obtained through WCW, though the name alone implies it of lesser value than the Intercontinental Title. It appears to be now taking more the role of the previous European Heavyweight Championship, which I really don't mind, though I find its existence unnecessary and would scrap in favour of two singles championships. The fewer titles, the more prestigious they are. Also, a wrestler may need be in the promotion for a long time before they "earn" their chance. It would grant time to properly build workers skills and reputation.

The Intercontinental Championship should be elevated to its former glory. Its holder should be considered the #2 worker in the company, or at least in the top five, being a definite contender to the World Heavyweight Championship. Two separate tours on the house show circuit should take place, with one being led by the Intercontinental Champion and one by the World Heavyweight Champion. I believe they did that in the 80's.

Some think a Hardcore or other gimmick championship should be redeemed; I don't. Save those sorts of matches for heated rivalries and the rare novelty act. Some also think a Cruiserweight/Light-Heavyweight/Junior Heavyweight Division should be revived... I am on the fence, though lean towards saying nay. The average size of the roster has decreased over the years... I believe over half, if not more than half is under 225lbs. How small would a wrestler have to be?

Also, increase the size of the Tag Team Division without just throwing together already recognized and established singles workers. Or, if need be, go that route but prepare them to be teamed for the long-haul. No makeshift teams should be created just to split for the easy program option after the split, nor just to win the titles once or twice in a year. Bring in or up some women that can actually "wrassle". The focus should not be on models and other beautiful women that are hired, then trained.

Championship reigns need be significant! Very little if any casual bouncing, and they will very rarely be defended on free television. If you want to see a title defense, buy the Pay Per View.

In closing...
- WWE (World Heavyweight) Championship
- Intercontinental (Heavyweight) Championship
- WWE (World) Tag Team Championship
- WWE Women's Championship; scrap the "Diva's" crap.

Programming
Monday Night RAW goes back to being two hours long. All four shows will remain, though they will have a different, perhaps abit dated, format.

RAW and Smackdown will be the two main programs, used to promote feuds, though less emphasis will be upon PPV quality segments/matches and more on promoting the PPVs and House Shows. There should be at least six matches per card, (I would like to see seven or eight) with only two to three showcasing upper-tier talent against one another, or midcarders whether in the amidst of a long-term program, or short. The others fall back onto squashing "ham-n-eggers", be it actual indy talent or FCW/NXT rookies getting exposure. Those matches need not necessarily be squashes, though they would be primarily fodder for WWE midcarders to keep them looking strong and relevant. I absolutely hate how wrestlers nowadays lose consistently only to suddenly become a threat. Midcarders are not jobbers. When I read sites that count television wins/losses, and an upper-midcarder, or champion loses over 75% of the time, it vexes me.

Main Event will be like the old Prime-Time Wrestling program, airing footage from the House Show circuit and putting over wrestlers. One featured match and some squashes. Maybe throw in some sweepstakes/contests... WWE coming to your town? Want to be on television? Win some free merch? Maybe be a guest timekeeper?

Saturday Morning Slam is a children's show. WWF Mania with a focus on the younger demographic. One match, one guest commentator, a few segments.

Creative Team goes away... bringing back BOOKERS and calling Agents AGENTS instead of producers. No full-time active wrestler should be forced to job, not used, or released because there "wasn't anything for him". If a worker is not currently engaged in a program, go the Ryback way and feed him more (jobbers). The Event Center, Update and PPV Reports would return to give the show a more legit sport vibe.

Five major Pay-Per-Views (Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, Survivor Series) with seven minor PPVs at a lesser value in between.

Miscellaneous Gripes with Roster/Booking
- Get rid of the "General Manager" and bring back the President. Reference him/her and use him/her sparingly. The role of the authority figure is overplayed.
- No Booking on the fly. I hate opening segments of a show being used to make the main event. THE MAIN EVENT SHOULD ALREADY BE BOOKED BECAUSE THE SHOW IS 'SUPPOSEDLY' LIVE. The whole card should be booked. The audience shouldn't be as potentially unaware of the card AS THE F****** (I self-censored that) ADMINISTRATION. VERY RARELY MAKE MATCHES ON THE FLY. Promote the next card at the end of the show, or sometime during the show to build interest. Wrestler #1 vs. Wrestler #2; Wrestler in action next week!
- Not every heel has to cheat to win. I HATE HATE HATE that. Just because a person is "bad" doesn't mean they lack the ability to within the rules defeat a "good" guy. Sometimes heels are just better, or have the better outing.
- Let the wrestlers talk. Do not script every word. At least give the worker a chance to get their gimmick over. Or stick them with a manager. BRING BACK MANAGERS! YES! Those managers aren't (kayfabe) employed by the promotion. WWE can't fire a manager that a wrestler hired to manage him/her.
- "The following contest is scheduled for one-fall with a ##-Minute Time Limit."
- Introduce each wrestler with their hometown, height and weight.
- No more revising history or conveniently forgetting something.

I think I've gone over three things. My initial post is a failure.

1) Make Raw, Smackdown PPV etc slightly more edgy (blood, occasional PROTECTED head chair shot, slighly more colourful language etc) and have the house shows as PG shows. The tv shows could be slightly more geared towards the adults with the storylines and house shows could be more fun, more geared towards the younger audience. Parents can then decide if/when their kids watch the main tv shows.

2) Change all the 'visual' stuff. I hate the fact Raw has white ropes, white ring posts and silver ring steps. Raw should have red ropes, black ring steps and black ring post. Smackdown the same except blue ropes. Let the PPV's have different colours for things like that. PPV's sometimes feel no different to a Raw or Smackdown, the PPV's should have the different sets and layout, rather than just seeing like a monthly version of Raw. I also hate the way the crowd is dimmed out with red and blue lights, on Old School Raw this week they didn't do that as much and visually it looks so much better seeing all the crowd, watching at home it makes it feel like the crowd are actually involved (the crowd is so poor compared to how they used to be).

3) Make changes to backstage segments. Yes I know wrestling isn't real etc etc, but am I supposed to believe that all key conversations only take place when a match has finished and also when a camera crew is lurking around? Instead of as soon as a match has finshed going backing to CM Punk in his lockerroom (with a whole camera crew watching no less), why not film Brad Maddock going into his lockerroom (shot from a distance) and say this happened during the commercial break, or moments ago. At times things seem to run TOO smothly. If the WWE wants a backstage conversation between Cena and Rock to be viewed by everyone, make it happen with an actual interview with Rock that Cena interrupts, then there is a reason for the camera being there in the first place. Or have it happen with a camera crew waiting for say, Orton to arrive and then when he arrives Sheamus comes over to talk to him, once again then there is a reason for the camera crew to be there rather than wrestlers acting like there is no camera crew around. Same goes for camera crews inside the GM office, if the GM has something to say, have it seem like the GM has invited the camera crew in so that he/she can then address everyone, rather than just cut to Vicki rambling on in her monotone voice for no reason completely oblivious to the camera 4 foot from her face.

I haven't even had chance to talk title unification, 3 hour Raw, taped/1 and half hour edited Smackdown, gimmick PPV amongst other things.....
