Well my user name is my real name, so that part is solved. I have been a "fan/mark/smark" (any other names lol?) since the age of 5. I am now 57 (shudder). I started out watching Houston Wrestling ringside very Friday night with comps my Grandfather got from a worker there. Got to see all the greats from Lou Thesz up to the Bladerunners starting their career.
Most people know that was Sting and thee Warrior. It would take this whole post to drop names, but I won't. I also saw WCCW on TV, and sometimes went up to Dallas to see it live. I moved to San Diego County, the 760 part, not the 619, and Vince ate Houston Wrestling, who bythat time was affiliated with Bill Watts, NWA, then eventually Georgia Championship Wrestling, even though, and I stand corrected, because I was out in San Diego then, I believe Paul sold to Vince, he worked with Bill Watts, etc. When there were territories and KAYFABE!
Anyway, I contribute occasionally on the net (I will keep within the rules and not name it) I only mention this not to promote or advertise, just that I always wanted to be a Worker, but was always too small to be one, so this is a "way" to keep my nose in the business.
There weren't any schools I knew of, and there weren't any "Spike Dudleys" around, so even though heavyweight was 250, I would have really have a "Squash match" literally
. I guess that is all for now.
I was sent over here by Konnan, to give him credit, and have enjoyed the site, and decided to join the forum. I hope to be a positive part , even though not a real large one, to this board.
Take Care,
Michael
