Triple H vs. The Undertaker saved WM 27 from being one of the worst WM's of all time

Dark Match Winner
Agreed? It was a classic. Rhodes/Mysterio, Punk/Orton and Edge/Del Rio were all decent but answer me this, could these matches have not played at a low grade PPV or an edition of RAW? With this match I would give the ppv a 6/10. Without it I would honestly not hesitate to give it a 4/10. Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus would have probably bumped my rating up .5 percent.

I didn't think it was that great. Kicking out of finishers over and over doesn't make a great match. Not a good mania.

I can name a number of Mania's worse then this one.

Mania XXV (one all-time classic, rest was a bunch of shit)
Mania 2
Mania IV
Mania IX
Mania VIII
Mania XI
Mania XIII
Mania XII (one overrated classic, rest was shit)
Mania 2000

I might be able to go on, this was just off the top of my head.

This Mania had an outstanding match in HHH/Taker, a great match in Cody/Rey, 2 very good matches (the title matches), the feel good moment of Lawler beating the fuck out of Cole, the pop culture moment of Snooki being involved (and to be quite honest, her handspring elbow looked better then a lot of the other diva's offense). Plus it pretty much had The Miz being made into the 2nd biggest guy in the company. Finally, there was this guy hosting it, don't know if you ever heard of him, but THE FUCKING ROCK.

I think in a few years this may be the most UNDERrated Mania's ever.

I hated the show, but by no means was it the worst. And I preferred Rhodes/Mysterio.

No. It wasn't better than their first match at Mania, it took waaay too long and the finish was stupid. You're not an MMA fighter Taker, get over it.
Terrible Mania.

Kicking out of finishers over and over doesn't make a great match.

Thank you

I thought it was a pretty decent WrestleMania regardless of HHH/Taker. It probably falls somewhere in the middle of the WM pack.

It's sad that not even The Rock could save the main event. It was the Shits!

Both Cena and Miz tried too hard to over sell each other's moves; especially Cena.

This made the match way too slow.

Anyone else liked Punk vs Orton? I thought it was pretty good for what it was. I think that match and the Edge/ Del Rio one should have been given a bit more time.

Cody vs Rey was great and Miz vs Cena was good but it turned great due to Rock's involvement.

I don't generally talk about Triple H and his alleged nepotism but why the fuck does he want a 29 minute return match for himself. The match would have been a hell lot better had it been say for 20 minutes. Then, those 10 minutes should have been distributed into Punk/ Orton and Edge/ Del Rio. And they really need to tone down the multiple finishers thing in Undertaker matches. The tombstone is one of the best and most protected finishers of all time. Try to FUCKING keep it that way

I was disappointed. It wasn't the worst, but also wasn't one of the best. Rey/Cody was my favorite of the night. The least had to be that 8-man tag match. What was the point of even going ahead with it? I was all geared to watch Sheamus vs. Bryan, but no. I would've also preferred to watch the battle royale or whatever they had as a dark match.

Taker vs. HHH? I didn't care and have no interest in The Streak and the storylines that go with it. I used their video packages as my potty break and to make nachos. By the time I returned, they were just starting HHH's music. -- And then I still had at least 5+ minutes to kill.

Really, I've been so over Taker and HHH for around 10 years. Doesn't matter when they leave for any length of time, I feel burnt out when they make any appearances. I'm just tired and jaded when it comes to them. :suspic:

Not even close to the worst. I could name 10 that were worse even without Taker/HHH.

By the way, after what happened at WM18 and WM25 with Hunter being upstaged with matches impossible to follow, it probably feels good that he finally had a show stealing match.

I never said it was the worst. I said Taker/HHH saved it from being the ONE of worst. With it WM 27 is at best average at worst bad. Definitly in the bottom 15 Wrestlemanas, maybe even the bottom 10. In my opinion its in the lower average.

Definitely the worst Wrestlemania for Cena. Didn't think he could have a below average match at mania. I cannot think of a reason why Ryder and the Bellas got on air while US champion Sheamus and Bryan did not.

People overact YET AGAIN. Look, was I disappointing? Somewhat. Was it the worst WrestleMania ever? Oh dear God no. People need to stop reacting like Vince McMahon went and told Judas to betray Christ.

The show was pretty solid even before Trips/Taker aside from a 2 min squash. I was entertained and people are overreacting. Definitely not the worse or the best Mania, but it kept consistent with Mania 26, so I say well done to WWE for keeping things well. Yeah the ending relies on Cena/Rock facing off now, but otherwise a good show and did its purpose.

As a staunch defender of the WWE, I can honestly say it's the worst Wrestlemania I've seen since Wrestlemania 11. Top to bottom, it was missing something, everyone seemed a bit off, every match started in the middle instead of the beginning, too many matches featured too much of "2 guys lying around because their tired/hurt" and there wasn't one match on the card we can look back and say "what a great match".

Every Wrestlemania since 11 had either a good top-to-bottom showing OR had that one match fans never forget. Wrestlemania 27 had neither. It might not have been the worst show, but it certainly ranks towards the bottom.

And that's not even getting into the HORRIBLE booking of the show itself.
