I don't think anyone's blaming him (well so far in this thread), but to say he kept us safe is a false claim no matter how look at it, whether it be his fault or not.

And I don't know about Obama not keeping us safe...that's not a premonition that we can make so early on, but if you were looking for him to talk more about war than peace (in his speech), well that's not right either, because peace is ideal, war isn't.

I don't believe Bush was the WORST president we've had, but he was up there. He gets a bad rep because he was put in some very shitty situations, some because of his own stupidity, others not so much. The man was/is a full-blooded patriot, and his response was that of a Patriot. Go in guns blazing, having anger cloud your judgement BUT he also declared war on a country, not the actual terrorist forces. He was cleaning up daddies mess.

Basically; Bush has made it that so Obama could shit on the White House lawn and still be seen as a better president. Then again, Obama will be judged on how he handles the problems not for the good he could/will do.
