here is my opinion on this whole thing,i tihnk it has too much of a WWE feel to the camera work,i know that its a new ECW and it has evolved since 2000 but if it had more of a lower production value, and less scripted interviews it would be better.i would also like to see longer matches and new wrestlers that look like they fit in ECW not WWE.im going to continue watching ECW hoping that Vince will get the hint and let ECW be its own entity and let Paul Heyman do his thing

What you guys fail to realize is that Vince is not the problem the problem is well to me there is no problem except impatience.

Terrell, I think you're being too optimistic. ECW is not going to evolve into anything special, because the talent either just flat out sucks or is being relegated to jobber status (put 75% of the ECW alumni in the latter category). If there's anything we've come to expect from Vinnie Mac, it's that he's in the "sports entertainment" business as opposed to professional wrestling, and he's glossing over what was once an edgy, gritty alternative to his company with his corporate touch, essentially turning it into the WWE minor league.

What does Vinnie love? Vinnie loves big guys (he's constantly pushing guys that are 6'5" or taller, even if they have zero wrestling ability), he loves scantily-clad tarts, and he LOVES using squash matches to put people over. He's not going to showcase the ECW style, because the "new breed unleashed" isn't skilled enough to execute it or sell it. Therefore, he doesn't give a damn about the audience for Paul Heyman's ECW - instead, he's going to sell it to the people that watch Raw and SmackDown! every week by featuring WWE stars and defectors along with goofy gimmicks like vampires.

This is a bigger risk than simply presenting ECW as it was. It's just another brand of "sports entertainment" now that has inferior storylines to Raw and wrestling that's just boring & predictable in general. If the real ECW were around today with Vinnie providing financial assistance and no other input, it would be huge and the fans would be way into it. Instead, as the program went on, the only thing I could think of was 'Hmmmm, I wonder what Vinnie is going to do to piss off the ECW faithful next...", which of course led to Heyman betraying RVD and aligning with The Big Slow.

ECW isn't going to evolve, so don't keep your hopes up. It's basically going to be OVW with a TV deal, a new name and a few ECW alumni whose sole purpose is to job to the "new breed unleashed", who are really just ordinary big guys for the most part. And if they're over with the crowd enough (which may happen to CM Punk), they will eventually be called up to the "big leagues", either Raw or SmackDown! I was disappointed at first, but now I'm just going to accept ECW for what it is and expect nothing more. It will never even come close to TNA in the wrestling department because Vinnie has banned so many moves that most matches are just boring to watch now.

Youre probably right but I hope and pray that it will some day be a good show once again I am a True ECW fan I wont stop watching even when its not the same I want to be some thing better so bad I just hope it doesnt go under before it has a chance to evolve.

ECW is not a minor league, it will evolve but it will catch Vince off guard and that's when he'' take it seriously

Eh..I think people are being way too negative about a program that's only been on the air for a month. As for the RVD thing, he shot himself in the foot and stalled his momentum. No organization likes their posterboy to have negative publicity.

I think that its ridiculous to think that ECW can "catch lightning in a bottle twice." No matter what happens, it's not going to ever be as good as the original ECW. It's not that setting anymore. It's not a low budget bingo hall and the original ECW wrestlers are older now. I think they did a lot of what they did in the original ECW because of their low budget. The new ECW is, in reality, a third brand of WWE. It's not totally Vince's fault that ECW isn't as good as it was. It never will be as good as it was. You can't restart the revolution.

However, although ECW will never be the same again, it is only a month into its programming and I think its off to a rocky start and needs to be reviewed. I think that to save it, it should be brought back to its roots. Every match should be hardcore (as to distance it from the wwe shows) and new talent should be brought in to compensate for the retiring/unavailable original ECW talent. ECW can be successful on a grander scale, as long as it doesnt lose sight of what made it popular in the first place.

Vince is a major asshole, but the one thing everyone is forgetting is that he is a rich asshole and doesn't give a shit abou any of us. I too love TNA but them buying out the WWE will never happen, well not in our lifetime at least.

New talents are being brought in but nobody likes them. Granted Test isn't a new talent, but he has been out of the WWE for a while. People don't like Knoxx, and the one everyone wants to see Punk hasn't been on TV yet.
Vince is not looking to revive ECW, Heyman knows that, Dreamer knows that, they have told the fans to give the new ECW time and give it a chance. Vince doesn't want all the matches to be Hardcore. Vince wants it to be just a 3rd brand

I still have hope for this new ECW, but for now....FUCK YOU VINCE!

Yo yo yo yo I know Vince is a bitch but he has all tha power and nobody can do a damn thing about it. I like TNA and ECW but Vince and tha WWE are just too powerful Vince is a billionare he can easily buy ECW or TNA or maybe even both. I agree wit yall sayin Vince is an ASSHOLE but he has all tha power and theres nothin we can do about it and if U don't believe me just look at WCW Vince bought it. WCW wuz tha greatest but now WCW is all over and tha WWE is tha big thing right now. Sure ECW and TNA will get better with more years to come but I think so will WWE so I guess ECW and TNA shouldn't mess with Vince or they will go out just like WCW and the old ECW. I'm not defending Vince I'm just saying even though he's an asshole he has all the power and the money.

You do know that ECW is already bought by ECW and the New ECW run by Vince and the WWE right? It would not make sense for Vince to buy ECW cause it would be the same as him buying WWE. He owns both
